Alrighty then! We are set up for the New Year.

It would be wonderful to see everyone posting and letting us know how they are doing. Hopefully the website will let everyone in easily.

We are off to clean the barn, let the horses loose for their morning pasture time, and then I am going to ride Ivan for a few minutes....hopefully before it snows.

I posted last night and it got eaten by roving cybers! Rolling Eyes

Happy New Year all. (((((HUGS)))) to those whose health is not what we would want it to be.

Ol Man, yes horses sometimes misjudge or the ground breaks out beneath them on a hard corner. They tend to look really surprised when they fall over. Horses normally don't run over people, we are squishy and unreliable footing. That said some is klutzes, some are not all that aware of where things are, and some would rather run thru you than be caught.

Off to work!

HAPPY NEW YEAR. I'm praying for the best for all of you..............

We didn't do anything last evening. A couple of friends came over for a "hello, happy new year" on their way to a family dinner. We have a small group meeting today for pizza at around 4P we think.....just to gather, spread some hugs, and all talk at once.

I got to talk to my friend that set poppers off in her closet. I couldn't even figure out how she came up with that one...........ha, leave it to the grandkids. Her grandson's fraternity put them under toilet seats in their frat house. You all have to understand they live way out, like way way out, so that would go unnoticed to anyone but the family. They are such fun people. They are all sledding and skiing today.

We are doing some rewiring and wiring in the garage and barn today.

Let's see. Resolutions: I think I will continue doing laundry on Mondays. I will still drink coffee
in the mornings. I will praise and enjoy my family and friends more. I will eat junk food for
lunch, snacks & candy all afternoon, and salad for dinner. I will ride Faith who couldn't be better at tolerating an old lady. Most important, I will keep a positive attitude and walk, walk, walk.

Right. Laughing

Everyone have a great day & a great year. God bless.

One of the gals at work today made two resolutions that she WILL keep.
1. Don't eat healthy food.
2. Don't exercise.

I like the way she thinks. Laughing

Message received loud and clear RICK. I've been keeping in touch with his daughter by FaceBook. So I'll drop her a note to see if she is still the keeper of John's cell phone or if you should use a different number. As soon as I have an answer I'll let you know. Last I knew he was still using his Indiana phone number, but don't want to give you that if they've changed it.

ACCCK, it wouldn't let me on again!

Hubby is doing much better, getting back to normal, if that is possible.

Got some bad news yesterday tho...my nephew passed away....he's been in a nursing facility for about 9 years now after a terrible motorcycle accident he was wearing a helmet, but had terrible head injuries. He has two pre teen kids too....his mom is taking it hard as his his brother. Dad hasn't been in the picture for avery long time, was in prison. He is in no more pain and that is good. His Mom is taking it super hard.

Then today I paid my medical insurance, cell phone, and power bill by phone and then went to the bank and got a moneyorder for our land payment....mailed it and went to MC D's for some lunch...and my debit card wasn't approved due to insuffiecient funds..."WHAT"..hubby just got his retirement on Monday...so we went back to the bank and the dumb teller and her manager figured it out...she wrote the m/o number down to be deducted from my account, in the amount of $1,947.00...when it was spose to be for $506.00...uh-huh...which in turn they bounced all my payments I made by phone cuz I was overdrawn and of course the bank gets their money first....OH BOY, I was one pi$$ed lady, bounce Evil or Very Mad and not to lady like at that. Told her she should look for another job...and why didn't she tell us THEN and THERE that we were overdrawn and it could have been straightened out at that point....and she didn't give hubby his receipt for the transaction either...to me it was a tad bit fishy....I told them nothing had better be screwed up on my paying my bills, specially with the medical since we have huge bills coming in shortly....or they would be paying for them....if they cancel my medical....I'm still not happy. I will call in the morning to make sure all those bills were indeed PAID. Not going to wait to make sure....GADS! we have used same bank since 1983..diff states...but same bank. This year is really beginning to SUCK! Sad Hope it gets better for everyone!

Hubby went a got a big bale of hay today...he wasn't too keen on driving but it was open hiway...not much traffic...and I didn't want him to wait to long before he drove again...he did fine...the farmer loads it with a forklift so all he had to do was drive the truck Then we got the laundry done, bought grain for the hosses, and dogfood for the doggets....and we are having soup and baked taters for dinner...its a cold night...so it taste good...good comfort food. After tonight its spose to be a few degrees warmer at night and in the hi 50's daytime. Tis good....everyone is saying this is the coldest its been in years here for this long....maybe cuz we moved here! Go figure... tongue Rolling Eyes

Rick, you tell HT that we all send good thoughs and a big Hello! Have a good visit

OK, who out there in foopland has snow and how much!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to one and all!!! From a freeeeezing TEXAS!
Yep, I'm over here, staying with son and family for the New Year and having a great time, watching the grandchildren having another 'Christmas' with the pressies I brought over (me too, with the pressies they kept for me Very Happy )

CB - can you believe it's this cold? I've been visiting here for a few years now, at this time, and boy, it's not proper Texas weather at all!!! Just as well I brought plenty layers of clothes with me, even so I had to borrow son's jacket when we went out.

Sounds like lots of Foops have had snow, though, so I guess this is better.

Hope that 2013 brings Good Health and Good Luck to all. bounce cheers

Should we swap stories on cold??? I shouldn't complain, (but I will) it waited until December 26 0r 27 to snow this year and it's not unheard of having it in October so we're lucky. Only hae 3 - 4 inches if that much, but it's COLD. Low last night was in the mid teens and if we get lucky it will get up to freezing in the next couple of days. Oh.. and did I mention it's COLD? No significant snow in the immediate forecast, just more COLD.

I haven't heard back from Kelle yet on HT.

Update on Uncle, he is being transferred to a rehab facility today much closer to home so will be easier on Aunt to commute to be with him. Will be about 30 minutes driving instead of an hour.

That's great for your aunt & uncle INDY................

CB. honestly, you have to do your own work on almost anything these days. Those kids in banks can't even write sentences or add, let alone pay attention to what they're doing. AND, they probably couldn't even understand why you were angry. They just don't have a work ethic. America is in a mess, for sure.

Any word from SUNNY?

I just came in from shoveling gravel and dirt out of the truck bed as we needed filler dirt along a fence.
Done. Actually, it's perfect day out there. It's very windy, about 50, sunny and dry. I always feel good after exercise.

I'm going to make some football game soup for tonight when KS State plays Oregon. I love college football.

Ha, Faith says hi.

God bless. Prayers for ALL.

SilverD....it is a tad chilly here isn't it! brrrrrrrr....
Have fun with the kids and grands...

Graymare, give Faith a hug!

Well, phooey CB. I have soup/stew that I simmered all afternoon: onions, mushrooms, gr beans, corn, celery, small red potatoes, tomatoes, carrots.....I bought the veggie section at the store. Made 3# of gr beef, mixed it all up, added macaroni, MMMMMMMMMMMMMM. It's medicine in a bowl. And, a cup of hot tea.

We're watching the football game...................ha, Oregon scored on the first play of the game.

CB:
Sorry for the website logging in problems. I have no idea why it does what it does. I hope SUNNY can get on soon and let us know how she is.

GRAYMARE:
That soup sounds wonderful! I like soup in cold weather.

SILVERDANCER:
Welcome back to the U.S.! I hope the weather warms up for you.

INDYAPP:
I am glad your uncle is doing better and will be closer to his wife.....You are colder than here, but I am freezing my patootie off. I spend way too much time outside in windy, cold weather these days. I got used to Donnie helping out over the past two weeks and sure miss him at the barn since he went back to work.

I had a very nice, if chilly, lesson with Ivan yesterday. We are working on shoulder moves. He also jumped over barrels yesterday for the first time! Not with me on him, but Lori got him going over the barrels from the ground. I have never been able to get him to do that, he would step over them or push thru them, but not jump the barrels. Lori had it done in a couple of minutes. The woman is good.

Jane the endurance rider brought her gelding, Albert, over for his lesson, too. Lori has Albert doing everything really well. Jane has some problems getting the same results. It is fun to watch.

Today we took Kazi to Va Tech for her pedicure. The farrier says her feet are looking really good! She has to lose some weight, though. She and I are both going back on a diet. Rolling Eyes

WEll... still no response from Kelle so I'll give you what was John's cell phone number and you can give it a try. See what happens. 574-312-1686.

Soup sounds good. I made some veggie beef soup a few weeks ago and put some of it in the freezer. It just may be time to thaw it out.

So, we just went through the greatest time of year for shopping and sales right? So NOW my 12+ year old television blows up. Sitting watching the news last night nursing my sore jaw from coming from the dentist and POP, black screen and stinky smell. No more TV. Here I am one of the few households in America with only one television. I spent the rest of the evening catching up on some reading. I couldn't even get on my computer because my provider is doing some sort of system upgrade and they sent out an e-mail a couple of weeks ago that it would be happening. The e-mail said that if you had trouble accessing internet then modem will need to be reconfigured. Guess what happened yesterday? Yup, system upgrade happened and I couldn't access internet and couldn't figure out how to reconfigure modem. Of course provider I use is a small company and by time I discovered lack of internet, company was closed so no customer service. Hence the evening of reading. Guess I'll be shopping for a TV this weekend. Anything I should look for or stay away from?

INDY, check out Amazon....lots of choices and lots of good prices...................We have two smaller Vizios and are happy with them. I also think Walmart and Costco are having year end model T V sales.

I hope your internet provider upgrade goes better than ours did. Ours is fine and really works well, however, the time involved was no fun. All is well and we're now satisfied. They provide the new fancy motem and it is a good one, whatever it is. LOL

Nothing new here. Faith is munching away as I type. The dogs have been out and about and are happily snoozing. I love all that peaceful quietness.

Later gators and everyone have a good day.

God bless. Prayers for ALL.

Indy, I have had a Vizio too, 47" for 4 years. I haven't checked Walmart's prices in the last couple of weeks, but they had some pretty big ones for good prices. The only problem I've had is the development of some vertical lines that cannot be fixed. When I checked with a couple of different and unrelated repair people, they both said that is a problem that is found in any brand, and not specific to Vizio.
On the other hand, Best Buy will let you trade in if you decide you want something different in a year or so. They'll also deliver and set it up, according to their ads.

We got snow! oh my! 3-4 inches of the white stuff, and its melting fast! Somewhere out there in the snow is my pitchfork...I just hope I don't step on it and get wapped in the nose! The kids gave us a break last night and fed everyone, but the left my fork out there on the ground and my wheel barrow which had so much snow on top of it, it just blended into the white stuff! I really had to look for it! the trees and fences were covered with snow too...so it was a winter wonderland this morning. I now have more snow than where I use to live....sigh....

Well, hubby just decided to wake up and be part of the living....he missed the shoveling paths and feeding this morning....lucky him! He doesn't go out in the mornings...air is too dang cold for him...but he does come out to water in the afternoons while I tote the hay and grain and dog food....

He is taking things easy....which is good.

ARK, I don't know what the prob is with the getting on site....but at least its more than just me. Just how many have had trouble getting on? I think there are a few of us...maybe the site needs to be contacted to see if they can come up with an answer. I hate going thru it...and I know what my user and passwords are...but it just tells me they are invalid...and I keep trying and finally I can get on using the "invalid' words....go figure. Its frustrating to say the least....

Happy New Year to all from this wayward one in Maine!

Where, yes,we do have snow -- a foot or more, with great icicles dripping from my back eaves. Temp was 21 and dropping, last time I looked, but today was sunny and clear, and even above freezing for a while, with some melt. I use the snowblower to clear a big broad swath across the front lawn and past the woodshed out to the barn, with the lawn part of the path far enough away from the house so that it doesn't get filled right back up when snow sheets off the roof. You can picture me pushing my wheeled wood carrier, full of logs, before me along that route, huffing and puffing and slipping and sliding (there's a little incline) before stopping at the front door to take off the heaviest logs before yanking the thing up the front steps and into the house. What a short time ago I was mowing that lawn! Inside, the fire is dancing behind the glass front in the woodstove...

Distressing to hear of all with health problems -- especially HT, who's had more than enough of challenges of late, and who has always represented, for me, an unusual combination of wit, warmth, and the remarkably indomitable. But hugs and hums to all -- Sunny, Ninja, LC, and....?

Yes, Graymare, I suppose it's at least in part because we are geting old! And I'm glad to see you put a number on how long this gang has been hanging out, because I whenever I did so, I couldn't believe it. I guess it's true. Why, I remember when the Rickster was a newbie, and Ellen , and when ARK was admitted though she was under age ... and the great Emu caper, and Ugly from Pee Off the Porch, TX... and...

ya hooo I finaly got in, I keep putting in my user name and password and it tells me thst it does not recognize it but here I am well I almost brought the new year in the hospital, friday I went and got a shot of b-12 from the doctor's office, came home and all my joints hurt real bad, well about an hour later my right side started to hurt, it got worse as time went on, I thought it was my apendix so went to hospital, well they did a ct scan and found kidney stones, never had them before and don't ever want them again, the pain is un-real, well I passed some stones in the hospital but I guess there are some that are to big to pass on there own so now I have to go see a urologist, they might do this ultrasound thing where they have you under water and send sound waves through your body to break them up, not sure yet but I have to find a doctor in my plan that takes my insurance, they let me go home on new years eve with pain meds and told to drink lots and lots of water,

well, at least Kent's year is starting out on a little better note, he finaly has his S.S.D but the bad news is he is not eligible for medicare untill sept. of 2014 so no insulin and without it he won't survive, his body is no longer producing insulin, so for now I am sharing with him to keep his numbers down to manageble level still pushing for for emergency medicade, no word yet on that but Kent is doing better and looking better he is still verry under weight but we are working on that. I hope that all of you out there have a happy, healthy, prosperous new year

SUNNY, Walmart has low cost insulin (in all forms) for $16/vial. I don't know Kent's prescription but neighbor's brother is on it and uses 2 vials per mo.....actually not quite two vials. I don't know if that helps or not. Through his SSD he should be able to contact a social worker that can help with that.
Maybe there are even cheaper options. That's the only one I know of.

SUNNY:
I am so glad you posted! I thought you had had a stroke. Thank goodness you didn't, although I am very sorry about the kidney stones. Big ouch! I am glad you and Kent both are doing better. That sounds like good advice about the WalMart meds. I hope he can get those.

BEECH:
You are amazing! While I will be happy to change your avatar to anything you want, I think it represents a strong, independent woman, which is what you are! Very Happy Snowblowing, hauling wood, taking care of all the things during what sounds like a lot of snow to me shows how strong you are!
I do wish you'd post more often, though...... Rolling Eyes ....I heard you were a writer, sooooo write us! Laughing And stay warm. No snow here, thank goodness. So far our snowblower we got last year has kept the snow away. We've only had about an inch so far this winter.

CB:
I have been limping along for almost a year with a non-existent computer connection. Until our new internet service is installed, I don't think I can do much about the logging in problems. However, our tower will be going up soon and hopefully the internet problem here will be solved and I can work on it. My only solution right now would be to not change the thread each month, which I can do. While I like having the threads organized by month, there is no rule that says it has to be. I do think, however, that most of the logging in problems come from folks forgetting the letter case for their usernames and passwords, or forgetting that their username isn't what they registered it as originally, or using old passwords. JMO.

Donnie has been painting the tower for our new internet connection. It was grey. Now it is greyer. Rolling Eyes The guy with the bucket truck that Donnie was going to get to raise the tower has broken it, the truck that is. So Donnie is looking for someone else to put the tower up.

Today Ivan and I did a new thing! Donnie made me a jump out of PVC pipes like the one Craig Cameron had on his show. It is about a foot tall, 10 feet long, and very heavy-duty 3 inch pipe. Ivan and I spent most of an hour playing with the thing. Ivan likes to jump it! Earlier we let the horses in the arena to check it out and Ivan and Areion had lots of fun knocking it over and picking it up and moving it around. I am quite sure my 'form' wasn't good while we jumped it, but we did have a lot of fun.

RICK:
If you go see HT, be sure to tell him hi from us!
