Happy August 1st. WOW August already. Summer is flying by.

Everyone will be happy to know that the little yellow kitten, now know as Snickers has a home. Kathy came all the way from Mifflinville to pick him up. She fell in love with him and he is now a very happy kitten. He will be loved and spoiled silly. She took him to the vet and he weighed in at 1 pound 4 oz, the vet said he is 6 weeks so that means he was just 4 weeks when the idiot threw him out here in the rain storm. What are people thinking? There was a HUGE coyote in the drive way yesterday. Snickers would have been a good snack.

Have a wonderful first day of August. Only 9 more days until the big anniversary party. Ya'll are invited. Busy busy getting things ready for the big weekend.

Love & prayers for all.

Trudy and Carol, I sure agree with you on not having any summer weather. We had one week of heat, but all the rest has been extremely mediocre. The next 10 days are only going to be mid 70s. Oh well, I'm going to be spending a lot of August working - boo hiss. Manager is getting a knee replacement and one of the young girls resigned in favor of a full time job, so I'll have to fill more of the hours. This will come to an end as soon as the manager is back.

Here in the mtns it is about 60, green, gorgeous, breezy, semi cloudy, and I have just returned from an easy hike. We are having potluck with friends at 4P. I'm taking scalloped potatoes
(I know, a hard one to cook).

Hope Aug is starting out well for all.

TRUDY, have a GREAT anniversary party.

God bless. Prayers for ALL.

Trudy that is good news on the new home for the kitten...I raise puppies, and lots of folks want them at 6 weeks....no go....they have to be on their own for 4 weeks with no mama and eating really good, that is 7 weeks and up, usually closer to 8 weeks. These guys will be advertised 3 days before they will be 8 weeks....they've been chowin' down for 3 weeks now, the first one Mom was still nursing...a flyby...catch the titty and hold on! Cuz it hurts now, and I'm outta here! Curly did an excellent job with her babies.
Red's pups are now 3 weeks old....and they are lil chubs! fat lil butterballs...she has been such a good mom this time. I'm really pleased about that.
I wish we could make it for your anniversary party...sounds like fun! Happy Anniversary!

Sorry to all of ya's ....I guess Texas has been stealing the great summer weather, I will share if I could! Its been a HOT summer☀ ...but this last week or so has been high humidity which drives it up even more! BUT, the fall and winter and spring months sure make up for it....ahhhhh:)

Hubby is sound asleep after his procedure today......I need to brave the heat and go water everyone and let the dogs out so they can go find a nice shady spot somewhere to laze away the afternoon, swimming, laying on the beach:)  under their umbrellas (sunshades) they are happy campers!

Later y'all! Smile

well, the trip I did for my daughter did not turn out well at all, we were just 32 miles from our destination when a guy came out from no where hit me in the right rear of my truck sending it into a spin which there was no way out of, then we hit the guardrail in the center between the roads, I was sent to the hospital for ex-rays of my neck and back, have to follow up with my dr. in a couple of days, the guy who hit me admitted it and he got a ticket but it won't help me as my truck was just totaled out, too much damage to fix, I just bought it 3 months ago still owe 6800 dollars don't know yet how much the other guys insurance is going to offer, but if we don't get at least enough to pay it off and enough to put down on another truck I am screwed, I am verry verry mad and scared because I don't have a way to get around and can't count on my daughter, she waited and went to her dr. today and he told her she has whiplash, so she is trying to get coverd plus 50 dollars for gas to give back to her M.I.L not me for taking her, I am so dissapointed in her that she does not realize the consiquences of her actions, I am going to get a lawyer to make sure that the other guys insurance makes this right and in the accident I also lost my scooter trailer it got hit by the other car, so for now I have no way to get around with my scooter, I am sorry to vent but I don't know what to do and am lost, and verry sore,

It was a tough morning. My neighbor two doors over, Travis' grandfather, died. He'd been having some heart problems, but it was thought to be under control. When he woke up this morning, he told his wife this was the end. Sadly, he was right. They would have celebrated their 61st anniversary at the end of the month. He was a very good man; they raised two good sons, and have 4 grandchildren, and 2 greatgrands, one of which is Little Miss Scarlett. Travis' Nana will have a big adjustment to make, but she'll be okay eventually.

ahhh....ELLEN, that is sad news....its funny how some folks know it is happening like that...my Mom also knew. I want to go very quickly if I may, and not have time to think too much about it! HUMS for family

Sunny Dawn, wait until you hear about the other guys' insurance before you get too far down....I don't know what to say...just hang tough and hold on with all ten fingernails and don't let go. I will HUM for some good news over this outcome.

well, we went to pay bills, get groceries, now we have to go get hay....never stops!...on and on...money comes in, money flies right back out the door and outta of my fingers

SUNNY:
Try not to stress yourself too much.  Insurance will surely pay for your truck and injuries.  I hope your back and neck are okay.  You didn't need another issue like this, but if the guy hit you, he has to pay for it.   ((((((Dawn)))))))

ELLEN:
I am sorry to hear about your neighbor.  Is this the same man who fell in the water earlier?  Big hugs to all who knew him......

We are going to mow our middle field today after the dew dries up.  A few days of sunshine would sure be appreciated!  We think there should be about 100 bales on this field.

Ivan and I had a wonderful lesson on Thursday!  We are cantering around curves in the arena without me freaking out! cheers   He has never been the problem with this, I got thrown at a tight curvy canter off Arkady years ago and have had issues with cantering around curves ever since.   I think we are about to resolve my fears.

Areion did great in her lesson!  She got saddled and moved around and didn't mind it. She was much better this week about accepting work.  Lori didn't get on her in the saddle yet, but did get on her without it, doing Clinton Anderson's human currycomb training step.  No problems, Areion was probably tired by this time, but she was very cooperative.

ARK, she is a very pretty horse! She will make you a great trusty steed in the future....you'll enjoy lots and lots of miles of trails...

It would be a wonderful world for all if everyone had to carry the same insurance levels, unfortunately some carry the bare minimum for the state they live in, and have very very low coverage toward repairing or taking care of medical. It is a dog eat dog world out there on insurance coverages......but it would be so much better if drivers had the same protective coverages, then no one would have to worry when an accident occurs....but the way it is now, you fear if they will have enuf to cover what you need paid or replaced. I pay more moolah to have my coverages....as I'm sure a lot of us do, then we do not have to worry about it....if we hit someone....but when someone hits you, you don't know what their insurance will cover or how much. Its a wait and see game. Had a friend in Idaho who was hit at intersection, but the folks only had minimum coverage....it paid part of her medical, but her insurance co. had to pay off her truck...and it was brand new. So I'm hoping this all turns out well for Sunny, and her insurance company is aggressive and helps her out. It is down right scary out there. So many folks are driving without any insurance at all. They buy a policy so they can register their vehicles and then let it drop....it happens all the time. Grrrrrrrrr

Well, we had ice cream with the girls before they left last night for their Mom's for 3 weeks....and then a couple who bought a puppy from me last fall, came to look at my puppies, and bought one out of the youngest litter....they love their first puppy so much, they wanted another from same Mom....I know they think I'm crazy doggie lady....but they really liked the fact that the puppies are raised inside and around people all the time, and not stuck outside in a kennel or shed somewhere....my pups especially being around the grand daughters so much, are very well socialized and friendly lil monsters!bounce playful and sweet rolled into one. I'm proud of my babies! LOL

Well, hope y'all have a great weekend...do something fun...or get some rest...watch a good show...anything horsie is good! but just do something for yourself...cuz we are worth it! p.s. I'm doing laundry today so I have clean undies! Laughing Razz Embarassed that's pretty important stuff! LOL

No, the man who died is not the same guy who fell in the lake in May. That guy is doing fine, although still gets out of breath easily, due to the pre-existing heart and lung problems. Travis' grandpa has not had an easy time of it for the last 19 years. He had a knee replacement then, and got an infection in it that they just could not get cleared up, no matter how they treated it. He even had a second replacement. Last year, it reached a point where he had to have that leg amputated just above the knee. He did great through the rehab and was feeling sooo much better without the everlasting infection. As an 80 year old, he was on some heart meds, but they thought everything was under control. So it was rather a shock when he died yesterday morning. It's a good family and they'll be okay. After being married for nearly 61 years, it will certainly be a change for his wife. She's in great shape for 80, so she'll be okay too.

Trudy, we'll be waiting to hear all the stories about your party. Have a wonderful time!

Rain in Arizona is a good thing Syd .... have fun playing cards.

Pat on Becca and I on Ice went out for a glorious Sunday ride, with our ever faithful Midge on point. Going along the edge of the hay field ... lots of wild flowers ..... Midge in the lead .... pokes her nose in the tall grass and then backs out .... tall grass moving. Pat and I thinking alike say hmmmmm wonder if there is a deer in there. Now we are going to go and take a peek hoping to see a baby ... Becca saying doesn't think it is a good idea ... Ice saying oh yeah lets have a look ..... wellllll as we approach the excitement started with several very noisy wild turkeys taking off flapping and squacking (sp) .... now we are having some excitement but then some more turkeys took off .... things are getting a bit wilder and then just as we are thinking we might have things under control the last of them took off ... both Ice and Becca just about blew their bogey sprocket and I don't think there was a single hoof of the 8 that was on the ground. Pat and I were both called on to prove our equestrian skills to calm down those two snorting horses.... LOLOL We just had to have a look! It was pretty funny as long as we both stayed on top. LOLOL

Then Pat adds ... could have been worse, it could have been a bear ... OMG ...... there is a bear out there someplace that Pat and Chuck have seen ..... Other than that it was a wonderful ride.

No matter how calm we think our horses are, wild turkeys could undo the best of them. Very Happy  I'm glad you had a good ride and one that had an event you'll remember.

Graymare, did you win? Did you play poker?

Carol, glad you stayed on top! Razz  I know the feeling all too well of having dancing, slides, dips....oh yeah....
Our horses walked right by a whole flock of wild turkeys one day, and they were NOISY....but on down the road, banty chickens were rooting around in the dirt, and they went nutso....spinning, backing....go figure!
Horses make our lives sooooo exciting...and gets our hearts racing and thumpin!

Graymare, I love penny enny poker, but I do not like Texas Hold "Em.....so if we get to come visit , get a good game up....tongue Laughing
Good luck at the cards.

Well, sold one puppy from the older litter and one from the younger set....course that one isn't ready to go yet....the other one I've already seen pics of him in bed with the people who got him! He looked very content!Laughing  silly pup!
I advertise them this week in the paper, so hope they all get really great homes. I'm picky!
A lady called me from Ft. Worth, she saw the pup that Jessi was transporting to her BIL....and she wants to come and see the pups....so keeping my fingers crossed...she has never seen puppies the color of mine! Pretty silver dapples and piebalds, sables, red piebalds, ...there are 15 colors accepted by AKC and 6 marking patterns accepted. They are the only breed with that many colors, lot of people don't know any others besides the black and tans and reds...so its interesting to see them wowing over the colors.

Well, another hot humid day here.....and will be all week....gack!

Sweet Dreams y'all.

Nancy Lee, good to hear from you! Wish we could get the whole gang back on here, I see them on facebook a lot, so know they are alive and well...but its sad they left us here....miss y'all....so keep posting NL! I miss your posts a lot.

Another HOT TAMALE type of day here...going to be over 100 all week long, and the humidity has really got a grip on us here in Texas....WHEEWWWW.
We trimmed Goldilocks this morning, I have her listed on Craigslist for sale. We need to cut back as hay prices are so darn high here. We all were hoping with less cattle in the areas the hay prices would go down...nope!
14 bucks a bale that weighs about 70 pounds if that! I was paying 10 a bale in Idaho for one that weighed over a 100 lbs....grrrrrr.....ahhhhh well....that's one of the downies living here....

Stay cool or warm whatever the case may be!

later y'all.

MY THERMONMETER says 110 in the shade.....geewhillikers.....I have been on the puter looking for a summer destination for next summer....I'm ready for fall temps now please....Dogs are all under something for some shade, go take a swim and go back to the shade....pups are all in the house and the AC is working but its not that cool in here...but cooler than OUTSIDE! I worry about the horses...at least they get a break at night when it cools down into the 70's...thank goodness. This fall horse sheds will go up for them to use....then they will have the option of getting under them...it will just be a roof and back side on it....to allow for some shade I will feel better once we get them up.

Stay cool y'all! I'm going to start panting, seems to work for the dogs!bom Idea
