| I agree! but ya have to admit it was a funny happening!
I just saw on facebook where they were having a driving race or something on a lake or river and 42 cars/jeeps/trucks were lost in the river....now that is hilarious...how stupid does one have to be to have a contest when the ice isn't thick enuf! OMGosh! This is why when stationed in Alaska and they had the sliding and spin contest on the ice after narrowly missing the other drivers out there, I made the hubby get a old scout, and I kept the new scout at home! No way was he going to crash it or drown it! They lost a motorhome out there thru the ice, and lots of fender benders going on, and I watched with the other sensible wives from the banks of said lake around a fire roasting marshmallows
warm but WINDEEEEEEEE here today. spose to get in the mid 70's tho

| RICK: I really like that metal horse! Very creative use of parts. It sort of looks like the horse puppet they used in the Broadway play, "WarHorse". We got up to 47 degrees this afternoon! It felt like summer....almost. If you never experienced summer before....The horses had their blankets removed and got to scratch themselves with a good roll in the arena gravel. They felt so much better. Donnie trimmed Zippy's feet and I got up all the formerly frozen to the ground horse doo that I couldn't get up for the past week. We felt better, too. Tomorrow night it will be back down to 6 degrees and the blankets go back on for most of the rest of the week. None of us will feel better about that. ELLEN and INDYAPP: The other day after cleaning the barn in near zero windchills, I came in and zoned out on HGTV watching people choosing which house to buy in Hawaii. Any one would have done me just fine. I basked in the TV sunshine for two hours. It was as good as being in Hawaii for someone, like me, who has never been there. I signed up to win the HGTV 2014 house that is in Lake Tahoe. After I win it, I am going to immediately sell it and buy 10 acres in Hawaii near the ocean. I won't be able to afford a house, but I can live in a tent there with my animals...and Donnie.. Wonder what it costs to ship a horse there? Ivan wants to go, too. | |

| Ark, I've been entering to win the dream house every morning on both websites. I'm sure the odds of winning are just as bad as trying to win the Power Ball. But, somebody has to win and you can't win if you don't enter, so.........
It's been in the high 20s today, but that won't last much longer. There is snow just a short distance from here. We'll get another couple of inches. I am NOT looking forward to Tuesday when the high will be less than zero. It might be a futile hope, but I hope Tuesday will be the bottom and we'll come up from there. Riding a horse on a beach in Hawaii sounds pretty good right about now. I went to town to get a little set of drawers to hold my sewing knick knacks. While I was gone, my wonderful neighbor completely plowed out my driveway. He came back later with the snow blower and cleared my sidewalk. I am so grateful for him. After he finished plowing and blowing, he took some time to go play out on the lake with the snowmobile.

| I'm whining and I want everyone to know and recognize it! We have enjoyed way too many frigid day with even more frigid windchills and now Mom Nature has my part of SC under a winter storm watch with more frigid temps and snow and ice!! I live in the deep South because I like warm weather and no snow.............. I have managed to keep all the critters safe and warm, but they don't cherish the cold either! I have a VA apt in Columbia Tuesday morning, they do not like cancellations or to postpone so here's hoping this mess doesn't come near us until I am safely home again! Bobby gets neutered tomorrow and will soon be ready for a Rescue Group, providing I can take some good photos of him! Then the 6 babies need their shots and pics and they will go to Rescue weekend of Feb 22, Last puppy litter here as I am convinced they are deliberately trying to trip me and cause some broken bones......they are adorable tho! | |

| RICK, that photo is so neat…………I'm always amazed at the genius of the human mind. I love to stare at those types of things.
ROSE…………..those puppies have to b darling…..but, I agree, a litter is a LOT of work. I hope the rescue accepts them soon. Your new retirement job is such a rewarding experience, I'm sure……..just hearing about the dogs makes you so dear to us.
CB, I can't wait to see your babies…………………...

| RICK; That is on really cool horse. I'd love to have it standing in my yard.
ARK: Funny you should mention Hawaii, I was sitting in the hub at church, waiting for the first service to exit the church, when George came in from parking the truck and he said "I just parked next to a car that had Hawaii license plates on, wonder how they got that car to PA from Hawaii?" The guy sitting next to us said "that's our car, we spent 5 years in Hawaii and it's not the wonderful place that it is cracked up to be, we couldn't wait to get back to PA." We were shocked to hear that, wonder if they will still feel like that in another month or so. LOL They had to send their car back by ship and it was expensive to have it shipped.
ROSE: You are so right about the VA, they get mad if you cancel an appointment with them.
We had a heat wave here this morning 27. WOOHOO Now it's dropping quickly, tomorrow back to the low single digits. Oh yippppeeeeee
I spent the morning at the dentist, getting my new crown put on and having my teeth cleaned. OUCH...whose dumb idea was it to have both things done at once. OUCH...that is wayyyyy too many dental things done to me all at once. I'm such a weenie about my teeth.
Off to the monthly Purple Heart meeting and dinner tonight, no cooking for me. YEAH...

| After a meeting several days ago, I couldn't find my keys. I quickly gave myself a personal "TSA Pat Down." They weren't in my pockets.Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot.
My husband has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car's ignition. He's afraid that the car could be stolen.
As I looked around the parking lot, I realized he was right. The parking lot was empty.I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen. Then I made the most difficult call of all to my husband: "I left my keys in the car and it's been stolen." There was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then I heard his voice. "Are you kidding me?" he barked, "I dropped you off!" Now it my turn to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well, come and get me." He retorted, "I will, as soon as I convince this cop that I didn't steal your car!" Welcome to the golden years..............

| Oh Ellen I laughed out loud at that one! Once in our younger years stationed in TX, hubby went out with his buddies to a strip joint drinking, the one guys' wife wanted to get her car so they would be forced to take a taxi or call one of us....we even went into the club and told them we were taking the car, and they could all take a cab home to the apartment complex when they were done. Ha ha....they went out to come home and thought their car had been stolen and called the cops, they were so wasted they didn't remember us even coming in.....so the officer decided to drive them all home. The guy and his wife really got into an argument over that one....but it wasn't her fault at all, I told the drunk to go sleep it off! and he did. My hubby was already slouched in his chair out! All ended well....but we wives sure laughed about this for quite awhile! We were all in our 20's back then seems like two lifetimes ago.
Dawn/Rick that is a beautiful piece of artwork.
Trudy, no I have to be the dentist weenie, number uno, you can be secon tho! LOL
Its windeeeeee here, the cold front has come in....batten down your hatches y'all. gonna be in the teens the next two nights here and 40's for the highs....and then its going right back up to 70's and 8o's, crazy weather.

| Today got all the way up to 19. It was still cold, but definitely an improvement. I'm happy with any improvement. They finally lifted the emergency status on the roads late yesterday, and the schools are going again. I went to Ft. Wayne today to pick up an extension table for my sewing machine that was back ordered. Enjoyed lunch with ex-manager and a friend who is working there again. Made a stop at Sam's Club on the way home. Nothing much exciting going on around here. | |
