ELLEN:
Congrats on first swim!

GRAYMARE:
Well, whatever color yellow Eli is, he is a beauty!  Daisy is a pale palomino most of the year, but is slightly darker in the spring.

TUFF:
Good to see you posting!  Good luck with the hay making.  We still have the barn lot to mow and bale, but are basically done for a couple of months.  There probably won't be 20 bales in that barn lot, but it needs to be cut to look nicer.

CB:
Did you buy that navicular horse recently or was that awhile ago?  Your vacation sounds like fun!

OL'MAN:
Wow, another 10 acres to bale would probably do us in.  Good luck with that!  I am sure glad your horses are doing well!

CAROL:
Hey! How are you? How was your trip home?

BEECH:
It's been awhile....we need an update on  life in Maine!

SUNNY:
Congrats to your granddaughter on her graduation!   wavy   How was the party?

RICK:
What did you do on your birthday?  Any great goodies?

INDYAPP:
Working on fencing yet? Come fix some of ours afterward....It's a never ending job.

TRUDY:
You need to tell us which Pam is which in  your photo!  How are SAM and SANTA doing?

SILVERDANCER:
YooHoo, we haven't had an Irish update in months!  How are you?

Well, it is after midnight and I am off to shower and crash in bed.  I have hay all over me.  Happy June!

Happy June everyone. It's FINALLY here.

The Pam's in the photo are Pam Lyons on the left with the blonde hair and Pam Fleisher (sp???) on the right and of course ya'll know who is wearing the cow suit. We caused a lot of trouble at that Not So Friendly's restaurant. LOL The waitress wouldn't even bring us water. LOL AHHHHH those were the days..

RICK: Happy birthday...hope it was a good one.

ARK: HAY...I remember those days. Can't say that I miss that part of having horses. Our neighbor was making hay yesterday, he started at 7 AM and at8:30 he was making his last trip down the road. What a day for those guys. He just went by here at 5:30 this morning, ready to get started again.

George's award service at church was wonderful. Pastor started crying as he was talking about George's service & terrible return home from Nam, he had everyone in tears. The entire church (about 500 people) gave George a standing ovation as he received the award. The parade after church was a lot of fun also.

I'm making Lady Locks for our granddaughters graduation party this weekend. I made the BIG mistake of asking if I could make anything for the party and grand daughter Bobbie said "yes, cookies, you know the ones you make at Christmas, please." Since I spoil the grand kids I have to make the cookies. LOL

Have a great day everyone...

Well, the graduation ceremony was a long one, there were over 500 students and a lot more family and friends in attendance, my granddaughter graduated with honors she is soooo glad it is over she is going to work at Disney to save up money for a car and place to live then in a year she is going to college I think she is going to study
Grafic artistry, she is great at drawing portraits and landscapes and wants to take it further I am so proud of her
The party was a blast, after everyone ate they went in the pool and had a great time, it ended after 10:30 p.m. I am hurting so bad today that I can hardly move but it was worth it
Happy belated birthday Rick and hope it was a great one

My younger 2nd cousin and his family are here for the week, renting a house on another lake where they can ski right off the dock. That works out really well for them since that's what they like to do. If they stayed here with me, it would be a bit crowded and they'd have to go through the channels to another lake to ski.
Travis got the jetski ready to go in the water, so he and cousin launched it. It has a little electrical problem, but nothing that will stop it from running. Travis will get it fixed in the next few days.
The kids wanted to come over here to swim since there aren't as many weeds around the dock where they like to play. They'll be back tomorrow.

Everyone is busy, I guess.....

Lori is coming this afternoon for lessons. If Areion is acting reasonable, I may get my first official lesson on her. First I have to uncover the horse beneath the pile of mud that she is. Rolling Eyes  It rained a lot yesterday and all night. She celebrated by soaking up as much of the mud as she could.

Our hayfields are visibly greener already. We were so lucky with the weather while getting up that hay! wavy

Busy getting ready for grand daughter Bobbie's high school graduation party this weekend. Hard to believe she is going to be graduating and heading off to college. It just seems like just yesterday she was born. Her dad is not too excited about sending his baby away from home. tee hee

The cookies are made and ready to go. I have tried not to eat too many. LOL They are so addicting. Waiting for Missy & Joel to arrive tonight.

George is off to his Purple Heart State Convention in Pittsburgh, so me, Ace & Sassy are just hanging out relaxing until the big weekend gets started later tonight. He won't be home until Sunday. A weekend that is hubby free.

It's D-DAY thank a veteran for their service.

Hi Folks. Sounds as if everyone is keeping Busy, Busy, Busy. I have my fence up, some tree limbs cut up and in a pile ready to be burned and my garden put in. On Wednesday someone from the cement crew came out and staked out all the demensiions for the garage. Yesterday they did the grading and set the forms. This morning before I left a big ol' dump truck came and dumped a pile of recycled concrete that they will be using for a base for the cement pad in front of the garage and they are suppose to pour the footing and floor of the garage around 11:00. I talked to the owner of the company doing this work and he's going to give me a quote to trail blaze a fence line through the woods taking out trees and stumps. My guess is about 800- 900 feet of pines, sumac, sassafras, and small elm. The trail about 16 feet wide the entire length. Anyone want to take a guess at the cost? I have no idea.

Hi INDY…….I'm guessing it will be by the hr perhaps…….Also, what kind of equip he will use will help determine fees.  I sure have no clue what excavation costs on forested land………..big congrats on finally getting these things that you have wanted for so long done.  You will be so happy.

TRUDY, yes, thank you all servicemen!  Have a wonderful week end, also, George as he will enjoy his meetings.  Proud of you dear for not eating all the cookies, LOL.

CB, are you home yet?

ELLEN, are you guys jet skiing today?

Our gang here is all excited for the Belmont………we LOVE the American Dream story attached,  so we're all rooting for Chrome.  LOL.  We're having Chrome steaks, Chrome cookies, Chrome punch, Chrome veggie dip…….heavens, we're all wound up.  Let's hope it's a go as a triple crown will be a boost for the horse industry.

ARK, hope you had a good lesson yesterday.

God bless.  Prayers for ALL.

Yep. The jetski is getting some exercise. Cousin and his older son are attending a race boat driving lesson. Mom and the other two are in the water. I'll be there too as soon as the ice cream is done. Very Happy

I'm going to get my haircut tomorrow, but will be done in time to watch the big race. In fact, I'll probably watch races all afternoon before the BIG one. I'll be at another cousin's since we are celebrating her 60th birthday on Sunday. I'll stay over with her for the weekend.

I think the whole country is wound up about the race.

Cousin and Son came back from their raceboat driving lessons. Both were grinning from ear to ear, announcing that was the most fun they'd had in a really long time.

Indy, you sure picked some nice weather to be working on a garage and fence. It's been just about perfect (except for Wednesday), and it's going to continue for another week.

We attended MY first ever function at the Senior Center. It was a meal function for all the volunteers and a guest or so. Carol had gone there a couple times to work on her scrapbook stuff and sowed the group how to do ????. So...she was invited as a volunteer. Good meal and I did NOT have to rinse dishes afterwards. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

My OLDEST brother is coming here in the morning (4 1/2 hr. drive) and the two of us are then to see our brother (2 hr. drive from here) who had a stroke back the first part of October. Don as not been out of hospital/rehab/healthcare facilities since then.

Sunday will be the 67th Angell Family reunion. I barely remember the first one as I was just two years old at the time. I remember someone asking me how old I was and I was too shy to answer. Instead, I held up TWO fingers!!

OK...hope all FOOPS have a good summer and keep an eye out for Snoop. He's gone most of te time now, but occasionally pops up.

Love to all, Rick

Men Are Just Happier People --

What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack... You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park.

Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.

You don"t have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you"re talking to them. New shoes don"t cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. If someone forgets to invite you,

He or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, even decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.

You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. You can do Christmas shopping in 25 minutes for 25 relatives at noon on December 24.

___________________________________ Men Are Just Happier People **************** NICKNAMES

If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah. If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Bubba and Wildman.

EATING OUT When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it"s only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.

When the girls get their bill, outcome the pocket calculators...YEP!!!

MONEY A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs. A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn"t need but it"s on sale.

BATHROOMS

A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel. The average number of items in the typical woman"s bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.

ARGUMENTS A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

FUTURE A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.

A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

MARRIAGE

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn"t.

A man marries a woman expecting that she won"t change, but she does.

DRESSING UP A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.

A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

NATURAL Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.

Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

OFFSPRING Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY A married man should forget his mistakes. There"s no use in two people remembering the same thing!

Oh, well. No triple crown winner this year. His supporters had a good time until the race anyway.

I like the poster, RICK!  Laughing

CB
Are you traveling again?

ELLEN:
Sounds like your family is having fun! Do you ski? I did that once for about 50 feet Very Happy .

INDYAPP:
I guess $1500. I hope I am way high!

GRAYMARE:
I had a really fun lesson on Areion on Thursday! Areion was Ms. Mellow and didn't give me any problems. We walked and trotted all over the arena. Lori says I can ride Areion outside of lessons now, at least in the arena. Then I had an Ivan lesson after Areion. I got in my trotting fix for a few days. Areion is so different from Ivan. She has a favorite, and very slow, trotting speed, I had to push to get a faster trot. That will take some getting used to. Ivan's favorite trotting speed is as fast as he can go, so getting a slower one is what I spend most of our lesson doing with him. I would prefer both horses meeting somewhere in the middle between those favorite speeds.
Areion is somewhat lazy. I am sure not used to that after riding Ivan the Energizer Bunny the last few years!

Today we put up the last of the first hay cutting. We got 30 bales out of the barn lot pasture. That was about 10 more than we estimated. We are done with hay for a couple of months! wavy  Our next project is a new hay building before the second cutting. No rest for the wicked.....

That's horse racing………….sorry it didn't turn out for Chrome…………owners have a valid point that at the Belmont all horses are not competing equally……only 3 of the 11 horses running had competed in the Derby & Preakness………it hurt racing more than helping it as now everyone understands the ugly games that get played………

The only teary part to me was Ron Turcott giving the "riders up" call from his wheelchair…………from riding Secretariat and winning the Triple Crown to presently in a wheelchair must be really a challenge………..what a man.

We had a relatively relaxed day for once. It is such a relief to have the hay in the barn. This was our third weekend in a row making hay. Donnie trimmed Daisy's feet this afternoon and I rode Ivan, then Areion. Both did very nicely. It is wonderful to be able to ride Areion!

CB:
We are supposed to get rain all week. I guess I shouldn't complain after such good hay making weather. Congrats on the new puppies!

I bet your granddaughter loves visiting you! The pool is a plus. How is Kent doing?

RICK
