Welcome to August! It is going to be a glorious month for us all, I just know it!  wavy

I love the Pegasus photo in the logo spot. He is one of my favorite characters, and of course, Areion's half brother in mythology.  Very Happy

We have been busy, busy here. Donnie and Buck got the framing up for the woodshed's roof, the metal goes on this coming week. Since he is here, we are getting lots of projects done with Buck. They worked on our house skylights, too, so they may finally get finished. We have lived with plastic over them forever. They are inside the attic space, so not open to the elements. The outside of the house's siding is up and painted. I left the part where the window will go unpainted so we can see how we like the size. The window probably won't get put in for at least three more weeks, it has to be special ordered. Things are coming along.....

So what are you folks up to? It is a chilly, cloudy day here.

Ark, it's good to hear you are making progress in the repairs, along with the other projects.
I've been letting my embroidery machine work on some projects for Christmas. My neighbor had some pants he wanted shortened. I've also been working with the software program that I learned a little bit about last weekend.
The weather is finally taking a turn that looks more like summer. It's been rather cool for the last couple of weeks, too cold to want to swim. Now that the kids are about to go back to school, the water getting warmer. Of course, the colder water doesn't stop kids nearly as much as it stops me.
I like your Pegasus logo too.

Cooler day here…..about 100, cloudy, breezy………..it's supposed to rain during the night tonight.

Sounds like all is coming along ARK and certainly by fall, all will be in place………….AND, you get to have your other back seat projects complete, also.  Hey, back to some good riding!

How'd ANNIE do on her 5 K?

Friend's (husband TOM) celebration of life was today….super fun…….He died suddenly a couple of weeks ago but he wouldn't have anything but a party….We're all still shocked he's gone, but as his own daughter said, "he always wanted to just go fast" when it was his time.  Anyhow, we all had some funny good stories……about 30 yrs. worth.  We'll spread his ashes in the fall sometime.  Sad he's gone as he will be missed…..however his now at peace.  My friend (his wife) is an engineer at Boeing and just went straight back to work to keep her mind busy for now…..she has a lot to be done and wants to take her time with major decisions…..big transitions so please pray for her…………..

God bless, prayers for ALL.

GRAYMARE
Cooler day, about 100?  OMG!  What is it on a warm day?  No
I am very sorry for the loss of your friend........

Annie finished 20 seconds faster than she did at the race last year.  She didn't get any prizes beyond a t-shirt, but seemed happy enough.  I think I said this was a 5k.  It was actually a mile race this time.  The awards ceremony was about three times longer than the race Rolling Eyes .

She wants to train for another half marathon, which gives her a goal.  She slacked off after her 13.2 mile race at Disney in February.  It would have done me in.....

ELLEN
Sewing must be in the air.  My other sister, Vicki, just whipped up a princess dress for her granddaughter.  It's really cute!  I need to oil up my poor old treadle machine and get busy making couch cushion covers for the couch in the t.v. room.  After the wall landed on it, and the t.v., I have decided it is time to spruce it up.  I have covered it twice before, but it needs a new look to go with the new window.

I am about to sign up for the endurance ride that is only 50 miles from here in three weeks. affraid affraid  They have increased the length by 2 miles recently, so it measures 28 miles.  It was 26, which I was concerned enough about.  Ivan and I have not been riding enough this summer, we are not in great shape.  While I think he can do it, even though he is a butterball, I am not so sure about me.  I may try to go as far as we can, even if it doesn't look like we will finish on time.  It is a mountainous, rocky, and very pretty trail.  I have been on part of it when we did the 19 mile NATRC ride a couple of years ago.  I haven't found anyone to ride with yet, either.  Wish me luck,  we may need it.....

Graymare, I'm so sorry about your friend. He's partying in the best possible way now. I will certainly add my prayers for his wife.

Ark, you'll have a great time on the ride. Since you aren't really riding for serious competition, it will be a great ride to enjoy for as far as you want to go. If you finish, which I expect you will, you will have reached another milestone with Ivan.

It's a gorgeous summer day today! LOVE IT! Now that the kids are about to go back to school, summer is finally starting here. Some kids go back this week, some next week. Sure am glad I'm retired.

Please pray for Heather (George's youngest daughter). She has to have heart surgery tomorrow morning at 10 AM. She was rushed to the ER last night, her heart was beating 220 times in one minute. They gave her meds that brought it down to 80 but the doctor wants to do a heart ablation. A extra flap is on her heart and it is causing her heart to fast when it touches her heart.

We will be on our way to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning around 5 AM. Please keep us all in your prayers tomorrow.

Love & prayers,
Trudy

Thanks for all your prayers. The trip to Pgh and back went well. We didn't get home until around 9 last night. Heather's surgery took a lot longer than excepted, so we were on pins and needles until we finally were allowed to see her at 4 PM. The surgery was a partial success, she may have to have another at Children's Hospital where a different heart surgeon will freeze the rest of the skin that was touching her heart and causing it to beat wildly. That child always gets the strangest health issues. She will be on heart medicine (probably for life) and has to return and see the surgeon in 4 weeks, then they will decided is she needs the second surgery.

Keep her and her hubby (Nick) and 3 kids (Brandon, Colin and Sami) in your prayers. It's going to be a rough couple of weeks ahead of them and they live so far away from us, we can't just run over and pitch in to help her with anything.

Love & prayers,
Trudy

TRUDY, I wondered yesterday about the skin flap…….I pray it can't interfere after the ablation and that hopefully the procedure yesterday solves the problem………prayers continuing that these next four weeks go well as I'm sure it's a huge worry for you regarding her resting and maintaining the family routine.

Trudy, I pray that Heather will be fine with no further surgery.

It's a quiet morning. A younger cousin and his family came on Sunday evening, and were here until yesterday. They brought a small home-built one-person race boat with them. They played with that and had a great time. He built the boat, and totally restored a 1947 outboard motor to put on it. The boat is about 7 feet long, so very small, but it scoots along about 35 mph.

Just about the time we think we might have real summer, it rains or cools off. We've had very few days in the upper 80s, and no 90s at all. This morning is damp and foggy. Ick.

How is your stepdaughter doing?  Is she feeling any better?  I had a 20 hour bout of racing heart back when I was having health problems and felt weak as a kitten.  Not a good feeling.  I hope she is feeling much better....

CB
Wow.  Those kind of temps for very long would drive me out of state, too!  How old are your pups now?  Any notion when you will move?

 Cute singing cat! Laughing

You do have a great vacation spot! I bet your relatives have a great time, if a little chilly.

It is cooler than normal here, too.  About 80 today and going to be in the low 70s over the next few days.  Strange summer.

I had a good lesson on Ivan yesterday. He was kind of lazy, at least until Albert the Arab gelding showed up.  Then Ivan became the agitated protector of Areion.  I hope he gets over that one of these days.... Rolling Eyes
