Welcome Jodi !!!

Glad to see you here! I see you've met some of us, we are all happy to have a new person in town. Your email says you are in Canada. Which part? We have a couple of folks from there. Don't worry about getting our names wrong for awhile, we don't care as long as you talk to us. Very Happy We tend to use both real names and usernames, so it may take you awhile to figure us out.

Okay people, JODI needs a role-call! So check in and tell her about yourselves, your animals, your likes and dislikes, you know.....whatever! We haven't done this in awhile and situations and animals have probably changed.

ARK:
That would be me. It used to be Arkady after my first Arabian mare, but after she passed on, I shortened it to just Ark. I have been a member of this group since 1999. I am in the southwestern part of Virginia on 15 acres with 4 horses: Kazi, Ivan, Daisy, and Areion...and two mini-horses: Zippy and Trinket...and one mini-donkey: Cactus Jack. The barn inhabitants are rounded out by one very fat black cat named Wizard and two aging Cashmere goats: Lightning and Phantom. We have a bunch of very irritating guineas, chickens and peacocks in a pen and five more cats in and around the house: Kumquat, Creampuff, Mira, Spooky and Spookette. I spend my time cleaning up after the horde.
My main horsey guy that I ride is Ivan, the one in my avatar. He is a mostly Arabian gelding (1/16th QH). Areion is our baby at three years old and the next to be trained. So now tell us about you, JODI! Your pets, what kind of horses you happen to like, your favorite things, etc.....

CB:
I have invited the two horses we rode with yesterday to come over and practice obstacles again, hopefully without the other folks until Ivan gets used to the idea. This coming Saturday, we are scheduled to go to a poker ride about 30 miles from here.....If Ivan is as good as he was yesterday, I will have a very good time. Since there will be lots of strange horses there, it is iffy. I think it is a 15 mile ride.

I gave blood today. I did it. I don't have to like it.
No It was in a bus and felt like the inside of a small airplane. If I were claustrophobic, I would have had a major attack of the willies in there. They told me to go sit around for 24 hours, so I came home and mowed the entire yard, fixed dinner, then cleaned the barn area and put the horses to bed. Yep, I sat around. Rolling Eyes Tomorrow Lori is coming to give Ivan and me a lesson, so no sitting around then either.

Oops, I just saw you are in Wisconsin, JODI. I don't think we have anyone from that state, so it is good you can represent it! cheers

KATHI:
Good luck at the docs! Hopefully you are feeling better all the time.

I'm Ellen, living in northern Indiana on a lake. I haven't had horses for quite a few years, but used to ride hunt seat. So my life story is pretty short.
Welcome.

Oops. Forgot to mention the two cats, Nala - 18, and Buddy - 16.
Nala got her leg broken about two and a half months ago; after surgery to pin it, it has healed, although she still limps considerably. But then, she is 18.
And yes, I do have a big Suzuki scooter that I just love riding. It has been called Flame, or Hot Flash.
No husband. No kids.
Going to almost ancient history, I am 12 years retired from school teaching for 34 years. Add that up and it comes to older than dirt.
