CB, maybe one of the vet hospitals would let you use their treadmill for horses. Laughing
I'm sure it will be a big relief to finally be settled.

Beech, good to hear that you are doing okay. Your temperature ranges are pretty similar to mine.

No ellen, I want this lifesize horse for in my living room while I watch tv! we need to patent one for all fair weather riders.....make it walk, trot, canter, and throw In a hump when u rnt expecting it....it would keep all our riding muscles stong and give all those wanna be horse folks a chance to ride. have a screen in front like the tredmills do so u can ride in different terrains......ok .......now someone build it.......

CB
Someone has made one and I rode it! Wells Fargo Bank moved into this area a few years ago and brought a big trailer exhibit to a local festival. Inside was a full sized mechanical horse standing in front of a big tv screen showing scenery. The horse moved at different speeds set by the person attending it. I stood in line with a herd of kids waiting to ride that horse while Donnie waited patiently .(I have no adult dignity ROFL ). It was really fun although not warm and soft like a real horse. I would have waited all day to ride it when I was a kid, even carousel horses and those dime mechanical horses in front of grocery stores were worth riding back then. Very Happy Anyway Wells Fargo' s horse was pretty good, and they gave me a commemorative coin for riding it. Very Happy

BEECH
You have got to post more! We miss you and worry about you in this weather! (Can you see me shaking my finger at you ROFL ). Anyway, it is good to hear you are doing okay. I guess Mainesters are better with such cold weather than I am.... Very Happy

RICK
I look like that...... affraid

ELLEN
So how is your sweater going? I like the idea of the one piece body on it.

We are going to have a heatwave tomorrow, up to the mid-forties. It was 10 degrees this morning. If I can get my gumption, and courage, together, I am going to take Ivan to the New River Trail tomorrow. I hate riding alone, but should do it anyway. I want to take him back to Sandhills, SC, in April for another 25 mile ride and neither of us are in shape.

The cold weather has been good for the progress on the sweater/jacket. I did both sleeves first, then the body. I reached the armholes this morning, and them managed to get the right front finished. I should be able to get the left front done tomorrow, then Monday and Tuesday should see the back done. Then, I think I'll block it before I sew it together. So, maybe the end of next will see it done. It's going faster than I expected it to. I thought it would take at least a month to do it.

We are supposed to get up to 30 tomorrow, and mid-20s on Monday, then it gets cold again.

ARK: I would have stood in line to ride that horse also. I rode every dime store horse in the area when I was a kid.

CB: Ace is fine, he is all healed from his latest surgery. He is king of the spitting out his pills, so glad that chore is over with. He only managed to bite one in half, after that he figured out YUCK that tasted pretty bad, not going to do that again, I'll just roll them around and spit them out. He even managed to spit one out on the cats back as she walked past him and she tried to run away and hide it for him. HAHAHA What a pair those 2 are.

GRAMARE: We get smarter as we get older don't we? 10 years ago George would be out there in the 18 degree weather riding with the guys. Can't wait to hear how the ride went this morning at church from our friend who actually went on the ride.

ELLEN: At least you are productive in this cold weather, I'm just hanging out inside and trying to teach myself how to use the new Tablet George got me for Christmas. My son the computer hacker set it up for me and gave me his high speed instructions so at least I know how to turn it on & read my email. HAHAHA He is a horrible teacher.

Trudy, you'll like it once you get it figured out. That was a nice gift.
My neighbors' two sons went together to get their mom a new laptop for her 70th birthday. Her old one was on its last legs.

WOOHOO!!! The Colts won today over the Broncos - which was a surprise to me. It was good news and bad news - the Colts won; Peyton Manning lost. I really hated to see him lose. I would have liked to see him win one more Super Bowl before he retires.

This is Carol's latest quilt project ... a late Christmas gift for a friend. It is her most colorful one so far ... French Braid pattern.

I'm looking at all the black stripes between the colors. Are those pieces of fabric, or ribbon? It is VERY well done.

Both great videos, RICK!
Areion would like that elephant fountain. She loves getting wet.

Another dreary day here. Humid and near freezing all day, it felt ikky cold. The ground did firm up some from yesterday, thankfully. I was able to get the wheelbarrow to the trailer without stopping every three feet today.

Hey guess what? I may have someone to ride with who also wants to do endurance rides! A man Donnie works with, Ed, is going to do his first 25 mile ride at the same SC ride I did last year. If all goes well, we will ride together. His teenage daughter does 50 mile rides. We are going to try to get together this coming weekend at the New River Trail. His horse, who used to be his daughter's, is a 20 year old grey Arabian named Magic who has done many endurance rides. Hopefully Ivan will love him and learn a lot about taking care of himself on the trail.

No lesson tomorrow, it is going to be rainy/snowy. Saturday's forecast is sunny and 50 ° !!!

Ark, it will be nice to have somebody to ride with. This time, you won't be the rookie.

I finished the knitting on my jacket. Just have to block the pieces and then sew it together. It didn't wind up taking as long as I thought it would.

Yum, potato chips..... Drool ...I remember those..

Lesson today, but I didn't ride Ivan at all. After Lori gave Areion a nice lesson, she gave me a lesson on Areion! Areion was incredibly mellow and didn't seem to mind me riding her at all. We did a lot of trotting with Lori showing me how to ride Areion more correctly than how I ride Ivan. Hands just so, putting on leg cues at appropriate times, bending my elbows instead of raising my hands. (I have some regrettable habits.) She said she wished we had a camera with us, apparently Areion and I looked pretty good for the first time! wavy It was fun riding Areion, she really is smooth ride.

A strange and sad thing happened yesterday. Donnie's parents' home burned down. It was totally destroyed. His parents are long gone, and the house was rented to a couple with a young set of twins. The wife and kids were away visiting family and the man was home alone. The heat from the fire woke up the neighbors a couple hundred feet away at 4:30 a.m. The man was killed. We haven't heard what caused the fire yet. Sad....

House fires are always a bad and sad thing. Tragic for the twins to lose their dad.

It's nice you are getting to ride Areion more, and getting more comfortable with her.

CB, it must feel good to have that all finished up. Now, you'll have time to really make the new place your own, and get all the fencing done for the critters.
