Our leaves are leaving the trees at a fairly high rate of speed, but they are not leaving my yard. They are getting pretty well piled up. Next week, I'll call my weed/leaf guy and have him come work his magic with his big back pack blower.

That little girl is definitely intense about something. Very Happy

We were going to an auction today but the fog is so thick I think we will stay home! crazy thick...almost as bad as our ice fog we use to have while in alaska...now that was some really crazeeeeeee fog up there. but there will be other auctions, so am not going to mind missing this one.

Hubby can finish his chicken coop.....

I'm getting his room ready for after surgery so he doesn't have to contend with the few steps....I have a feeling it will be or feel like a long recovery around here! lol

I will be waiting til he is up and going again.

Coyotes were out last night, otie gives a good warning bark, but when they get toooooo close he runs and jumps on the bed or our laps!....big brave puuutty cat! but we love him anyway. the dachshunds howl like a pack of wolves....but it keeps the coyotes away from yard, they are out in pasture tho, too close for me. horses do fine....goats stay in their barn at night.

ELLEN:
Wow! wavy That is really nice! It is very detailed, that must have been fun doing all that measuring and cutting. You are quite a woodworker! Will there be more panels like this or does the deck extend from there in straight planks? Good job!!

I have done my civic duty this morning, we went out and voted, then had breakfast at Hardees. After watching very negative ads about a state senate race for months, I was finally ready to do one of them in with my vote and discovered the race wasn't even in my district. Rolling Eyes I hate to think of the amount of money spent they each spent to send hate messages about each other. Lots more than what one will get for being a state senator, that is for sure. Elections are just so darn nasty anymore. And they wonder why so few people actually get out to vote....

We are taking Kazi to get her toes trimmed this afternoon at 4 pm. I wish we had made the appointment an hour earlier. By the time we get home it is going to be getting dark and I will have lots to do down at the barn to get everyone settled for the night. We forgot about the time change when we set this appointment up 7 weeks ago. Kazi is doing pretty well with her feet. I haven't seen her limp in quite awhile. cheers

Ark, the rest of the walkway along the house will be simple boards going parallel with the house. The chevron part idea was just a way to blend the old part with the new part.

I agree that politicians have gotten nastier and nastier, and tell less and less truth. We have another whole year of this nonsense. To quote a cousin, "Win if ya can, lose if ya must, but always cheat."

Ellen, that takes talent and skill! does anyone else know what their talents are? when I was younger and more agile working with horses and organizing fun trail rides was mine I think. but now I'm thinking 8I don't have any real usable talents. I don't knit or sew or crochet....I don't write....I don't work unless you count doing dishes sweeping floors and laundry a skill....hmmmmmmmm

I feel a little bit like I'm stagnating, unless its a skill or talent to go to auctions! I would love to volunteer at a horse santuary but there r none close by.

Well off to the new doctor today....

CB, does your area have a community or senior center? My neighbors are active in the local community center and library here in town. I haven't gotten involved much, although I did teach a couple of knitting classes a year ago.
How about writing a collection of your adventures for your kids and grandkids? You've done some fun and goofy things, and had some happen to you. There are probably some things that you never told your kids and they are old enough now to hear it. That could lead to some fun conversations between you and Hubby as you bring up those memories.
Just a thought.

Evening Foops......

Man I have had a hard time getting into this site again. Nothing worked, hope that I can manage to remember the correct password this time. Thanks Ark for setting me up, AGAIN, lol

Fall is upon us and after a busy summer and so far a great fall (weather wise), I hope that we don't have a terrible winter. Last year was enough to last for the rest of my years.

Ill have to catch up on all the happenings on here. Just read a few while I was eating my supper. ELLEN, you are quite a handywoman. That step is really nice.

CB, what do you mean 81??????? Cant believe that.

Jack is gone to town for his Tim's fix and have the place to myself for a couple of hours. It is deer season here now and he is hunting close to home (gone are the month long vacations for me when he would be away from the last of Oct. to first week in Dec.) sigh!!!1

Ill be back. Maybe not tonight, this changing back to standard time has knocked my sleep pattern off whack completely. Only eight o'clock and I am really sleepy. Up too early I think but it is nice to have all that daylight in the morning.

Later folks.

Donna

Hi DONNA. Welcome back, can't wait to catch up. Glad you're having decent weather up there.

Sorry you missed your auction CB. It sounds to me you're busy every day.......
and your puppies.

Where are SUNNY & ROSE? Also, BEECH? RICK? OLMAN? INDY?

Big temp drop here tonight with wind and rain headed this way. Time will tell what hits right here.......horses in. Rex is loving the cooler weather.

Donna, that darn 8 just snuck in front of the I...sorry....I'm losing my typing skills too, I see.....geesh....I don't like this thumb typing on my phone...with my arthritis, its getting harder to do too. bleeeck. whine.......
Thinking of you donna.

Gm, I know sunny is having some hip problems and its hard for her to get to clubhouse, she can read, just can't post from her phone so send her some good vibes.

I'm feeling lil bored....puppies r advertised.....hubby wants to keep all 3....men! he is working on the inside doxie pen this week....every animal on the place will have decent shelter this winter and be warm and toasty. if he hadn't piddled around with helping mybrother for 3 months this summer he would have already been done.....but he will be done, just my new floors and painting will be on hold and more fencing....but its livable and we will make it doable....til he's back on his feet again.

We went to warsas to new doctors, he seems nice. the town has a lake harbor park with boat ramps and docks, playground, bike and walking/jogging paths around the part of lake in town. it looks like a seacoast town, so pretty.lots of shops. best part is, travis, in the lab got my blood drawn first time....yay...very happy about that....very, very happy.

Sweet dreams foopland.

We have had some really great weather the last few days. Even today isn't bad at all. It will rain later, but only cloudy at the moment.
My leaf guy came yesterday and blew most of the leaves down the hill. I still have some trees that haven't dropped all their leaves yet, but I think I can keep up with those with the mower as they fall. Compared with the fall of the last two years, this has been an easy one. Now, if my neighbor across the road would vacuum the oak leaves off his 90 foot tree so they don't fall on my yard...... ROFL

How is the storm?

GRAYMARE
It was 73° here today! Perfect riding weather. Ivan did really well today when we took him and Areion across the creek and rode in our lower hayfield. A couple of weeks ago, he was extremely hyper when we did it. This time he crossed the creek first, was pretty calm, and Areion was the hyper one. Lori was worn out by the end of our ride. She had the ride I had last time and I had the nice ride this time. Areion wanted to jump the creek instead of wading across it, both directions, so Lori ended up having to get off and lead her. Luckily she was wearing rubber boots. Ivan waded across it. I wonder if Areion is in heat, she was fairly crabby towards Ivan. Poor Ivan catches it from all the mares.... We had to ride with enough distance between us so the horses didn't take punches at each other. That is not usual. We rode all over the hayfield several times. I had fun! Lori, not so much....

Morning Everyone,

It is 59F right now here in Yarmouth, unheard of on Nov. 6th!!!! The weather has been beautiful this fall and I really didn't have any complaints about the summer, once it got started. If you believe all the signs for winter, it looks like it is supposed to be a good one, starting late and ending early. After last winter, anything is an improvement.

The time changes has got be bamboozled. Awake a little after five, force myself to stay in bed for a little, need to pee so get up and stay up. Just made supper and now heading to the shower. Cant remember if I told you that Jack got a deer Sad Sad
a buck and he had a doe license. He could shoot either but does are protected here and there is a draw for the licenses.

Cleaning STUFF out of the basement. I have six dining room chairs (lyre back) that came from my Mothers, I will never use them so am calling the guy that buys this stuff to come and get them. They are in my washing area and taking up a lot of space that I can use. I am going to start getting rid of things that I know John or the Girls will never want but there is so much GOOD things that I have to decide what to do with. I have dishes that are early 1980's that belonged to my Mother's, Stepmothers family. What on earth do I do with them?????? Too valuable to just let go to a buyer. Im 74 and not planning on leaving this earth anytime soon, but there comes a time when you have to do something with STUFF.

Dogs are gone back to bed and one is on the chair beside me snoring. Jack is still in bed and the shower is calling my name.

Tommy Girl is fine, BTW. She is now sixteen, nobody rides her, just out every day in her pasture and looking pretty, Smile Allison is in her last year of school and she wants her next spring/summer. Her B/F's family have a farm and his Aunt raises Warmbloods nearby them. The Aunt's place would be the spot to take her as she has an indoor arena but she has something like 26 mares and all of them are bred, foaling this winter. I am getting too old to be tied down 24/7 looking after Tommy. Have done it since Tracey died and now is the time to let her go. I would never have sold her as she was left to Allison, was in both of our names and this summer I changed the registration papers to her name only. I will miss her for sure as she has been a part of my daily routine for all these past fifteen years. She needs to have her while there is still time to use her.

This month is always terrible for me. Nov. 8th is the day Tracey passed away and the days leading up to it are so very hard for me. The tears are never far from the surface Sad

Enough for now. All have a good day and excuse any typos you find, please.

Donna

What wonderful weather we are having here in PA. It was in the 70's yesterday and this morning in the 60's. Tomorrow is the big Veterans Day parade in Bloomsburg and of course, it is going to be cold and windy. We make plans and God laughs. We washed the Explorer yesterday and will get her all decked out tomorrow morning.

Today is 18 years since my Maxxie crossed the Rainbow Bridge, it's also my daughter in laws birthday. What a way to remember such a sad day for me.

My grandson is out of the hospital and living with his hoodlum friends, he refused to go with his dad. The hospital had enough of his tempter tantrums and cut him loose. His dumb mother signed him out. The plates will stay in his neck forever and he will never have a normal voice again. The hole in his throat will close in a week or two, if he takes care of it. So sad...

DONNA: Here's a big hug ((((Donna)))) from me, what a difficult time this week as to be for you.

CB: Ya know I often think there is nothing I can do either, I don't sew or paint (except the house) other than training horses and dogs, but since becoming involved with the veterans groups there are tons of things us veteran wives can do. Plus I volunteer at church to head the Barnabas group, we visit shut ins and send cards to people who need encouragement and just to know that they are not forgotten. You are so outgoing, a group would love your ever bubbly personality.

SUNNY: Sending a big cheery hello to you.

ARK: That little girl sure was me as a child. LOL In fact I can still look just like that when I don't get my way.

Love & prayers for all..

Hi DONNA. Big hugs to you. I was thinking of Tracy, also. I remember so well as Nancy Lee was here. We were so upset for you and knew there was nothing we could do except send love to you. I've admired your heroism through adversity all these years. Gosh, it hardly seems possible that Tommy Girl is 16, Allison is finishing school beginning her own life, and horse ownership all her own now.

TRUDY, brother, the choices some of these kids are making these days are heartbreaking. Anyhow, glad Anthony is well. Hope your weather holds for your
parade day. We have a big Vet's celebration here in our town. We know we are free because of the brave.

Everyone have a great day......Hugs to everybody!

Trudy, I hope your gs stays well. did he ever have the surgery? kids.....when they hit a certain age, they know everything of course. my girls were like that too....its difficult being a parent nowadays......years ago my brother took a swing at my dad and dad got him, first punch he was on the ground and had 2 cracked ribs, but he went back to 12th grade, finished, and joined the navy. boy now would dad be in prison....oh my yes....
Parents r afraid to spank or do any correcting at all anymore....I think that both parents working to afford to eat and have a roof over our heads really put child rearing on hold. you never knew or know today where they r and what they r doing....but when we were kids one parent was usually around and taught us manners, morals, and love and respect.
I ain't so bubbly anymore....but we will join the the senior center here....see what we can do. I can't join the amvets or vfw here becuz there is sooooo much cigarette and cigar smoke that makes me gag. you can still smoke in restaurants here....ugh...

Donna, many hugs for you. I always remember....we were at a mini foop fest in ct with gram, pam l, pam f, mrs claus, trudy....and the gals told me. I was saddened.

Well, have a great day. our storms r over, we were ready to run for the shelter....

Ha, this is Maxine:

“Bale em out? Hell, back in 1990, the gov’t seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion. As required by law, they had to run it.

They failed and it closed.

Now we are trusting the economy of our country, our banking system, our auto industry, our health system to the same nit wits who couldn’t make money running a whore house and selling whiskey. What the hell are we thinking?
