The weather is great, the lower hayfield has been cut and Donnie ran home and fluffed it at lunch time. It's still pretty wet in places. Hopefully we will put it up on Thursday afternoon. We have two strong young men coming to help! wavy Donnie thinks we have a little less on the ground than the first cutting of the field.

I had a brief ride on Areion last night. She was very mellow, but that stupid thigh muscle felt like a knife was being stuck in it every time she took a trotting step. I didn't ride her very long. Then I got on Ivan and the muscle mostly relaxed and I had a very nice lesson on him. He is a pudgy pony, but not as wide as Areion. It was dark by the time we finished. Ivan was very cooperative and mellow, too, which surprised me because he used to be freaky as the sun set. It wasn't windy, but was fairly cool. When he is good, he is soooo fun. Very Happy

Well. they started working on our road and guess what? Their truck broke down right in front of our farm. We had rows of huge trucks sitting there all morning. Of course, I had to leave to go to town and get my hair cut, but they did let me get out and when I came home they were all gone and road isn't finished. LOL Just our luck.

CB: It's a very difficult decision about the horses. I can sympathize with you being torn on what road to choose. My heart still wants to ride but my mind & my knee know that it's nothing I should be doing. It's probably the only time I have listened to my orthopedic surgeon about not riding.

ARK: Have fun making the hay. Our neighbor has been busy making his. Love the smell of the fresh cut hay.

Off to town today, George has a doctor appointment and I'm going to squeeze a breakfast out this morning after his appointment. He doesn't know it yet but he is eating out this morning. HAHA

Sorry, I have to brag. Jessi won the award for national air force wide.for non commissioned officer of the year last evening in San antonio. She is stoked, we all are stoked, it's a very high honor. Her dad asked if he needed to modify the doorways so she can get her head thru them. Lol

Very proud of her achievement.

They will be home today.

CB, that is wonderful for Jessi!  Please tell her 'congratulations' for us.  You have every reason to be proud and talk about her.  When you are speaking facts, that isn't bragging.  Tell everybody you know.

It was sunny most of the day, but the clouds have set in now. The temperature isn't too high, but the humidity is awful.

Now that school has started in most areas of Indiana, the lake activity is very light on the weekends. Good time to run the jet ski whenever I like.

Jessi is doing well, no head injuries at all. We bought a red towel for a red carpet, got flag colored balloons, and roses and a cake, had some friends over to celebrate. She did great....

Kyle is going to Kuwait and Iraq in january....boooooo....but it goes with the job....

We r back in missouri. Nice trip. I think it's worth the extra money on truck payment to make it from point a to point b and back again. Course it would be nice if it were less.... tongue
Stopped at Golden pony casino, put a dollar in and won 25 buckaroos, I promptly cashed out and left.
Harper was soooo cute and fun. Tired, but nice tired.

Trudy, it is a really tough decision. I don't know what to do. On TV he other hand I'm sure you will love your new truck, we do ours.

Now who wants to caravan up the alcan hwy to alaska next year...that is our goal. On a budget. But a fun trip. Who is with me. Foop trip.....yay.

It always feels so good to have a vehicle that you can trust. Typically, I drive my cars for quite a few years. When I start doubting that I'll get where I want to go, that's when I trade. They always have over 200,000 miles on them when I trade. One had about 350,000 on it. My current car has about 140,000 on it, so it will continue to live here for quite a while.

Remember my Lil Kia I got new in 2005, it has 260,000 miles on it. I need to get the actual fixed, but the maintenance dept dissolved in a fit of giggles when I called for a tuneup....then they were like REALLY....it's still running.....I'm driving it to tx in a month....but I'll follow hubby, if something serious goes wrong we probably won't fix it....but hopefully that won't happen. But when hauling horses it's so much nicer to be able to trust your truck, and after having numerous breakdowns with the old trucks, it is nice to have this new one...even if it's just us, so much more enjoyable...not to have to look for pennies in the seats to pay for big repairs.

Greetings FOOPS...contrary to popular rumor, I'm still looking at grass from top side sunny

Our "nuke" gave off some weird noises followed by a loud pop and has joined that large junk pile in the sky. It was a over 30 yrs old so can't complain on that front. It was a combo with stove light and a so called vent. I had to call in help just to tear it out

Getting 30 years out of a microwave must be some kind of record. With help, did you get it out? Those things can be rather heavy to deal with. Next stop, Lowes or Home Depot or Menards. Don't want to have to get along without a microwave.

We scared our nuke into working. It has spent several years slowly choosing to not work when certain buttons are pushed. It got critical when suddenly almost no buttons worked. So we found a nice new one at Lowe's on sale, brought it home, and the old one suddenly started working on almost all buttons. Rolling Eyes We kept the new one just to intimidate the old one, which we are still using.

We made 112 bales of hay in the lower field. We just started baling on Saturday afternoon when a totally unpredicted major thunderstorm formed right over top of us and drenched the hay. There wasn't another storm anywhere near us. Our personal black cloud. So Sunday, Donnie spent 5 hours in that field turning the hay over. He baled it late in the afternoon and we got it into the hayloft. Hopefully, it won't mold.

I had a nice lesson on Ivan this evening. He was in lazy mode, which I enjoy because of its rarity. I didn't ride Areion, I want to see if not riding her will feel differently than riding both horses. I trotted on Ivan quite a lot. Areion did well for Lori. It was dark when we finished and she never got spooky. We may take her to a little fun show in early September. The show is about 5 miles from here.

It's the last day of August. Holy cow (no pun intended CB), where did the summer go? It flew by so quickly I can hardly believe it's gone. We will we heading into my favorite season Fall. No more 98 degree days. YEAH...

Not much going on here in PA. I visited with my sick young friend Ashley yesterday. She looked much better than I was expecting. Now the doctors think she has Lyme on top of the Lupus and other weird things she has. Poor girl.

Picked more potatoes and have to get the peppers today, they are nice and red and will be sweet.

The new truck is nice, but it has so many bells and whistles we will never get it figured out. I still love my old Cougar, she has over 130,000 miles on her and is fancy for the year she was built 1997.

The bug man is coming today for our fall spraying. We have had a lot of sweat bees lately. Strange, never have seen so many of the little buggers, they seem to be everywhere.

Enjoy the last day of August everyone.

I found out my mares top side pedig r ee, five generations back is paudit. Nice. Her sire is king of spades, cutting horse, altho now at 19 he is built more like a halter show horse.
It's a tough decision to keep my horse or not, very tough.

Ark, we had a couple of nibbles on the house, everyone keep fingers crossed.

Sweet dreams y'all....
