Alrighty, then!  We are set up for October!  

I just saw a freaky  Halloween decoration yesterday.  It is a skeleton of a full size horse (with strange ear bones ).  It has red glowing eyes and a maniacal neigh.  




I would probably like this if it didn't make me think of the horses buried on our property, so I guess I will have to give it a pass....... It is kind of interesting though.

Trudy, so sorry I missed it, happy belated birthday girlfriend. I hope George let u drive the new truck for your present, lol

A very bitter sweet afternoon. My neighbors who sold their house invited the new owners, and all of the neighbors to their house for a 'meet the new neighbors' party. I was glad to get to meet the new owners, who seem to be very very nice people and will fit well into the neighborhood. But, it was so very very hard to see the original owners getting ready to leave. She and I have become good friends, and it was hard to see her fighting tears all afternoon. SHE didn't want to move, but HE thinks it will be a good thing. I hope he's right.
They are building a new house in a little town where her mother and brothers and families live. They don't have to leave here until their new house is completed, so they'll be here for another 6 or 8 weeks.
The new owners brought some long-time friends of theirs with them, so we got to meet them too.

Anyone seen any clowns? Kinda freaky chit....I wonder how we can tell the good clowns from the bad clowns.
Tomorrow, oil change day, pick up paint and screen, then pack the campers, whewwww, scurry scurry hurry.

Hello All,
So glad to see all the exciting things everyone is doing. New trucks, new horses, new neighbors, too many News to list them all.

Bill was released today. He came home to my house so I can keep an eye on him. Fortunately his daughter is available to stay with him during the day while I am at work. I have to admit I was a nervous wreck when we first got here this afternoon. We're both figuring out how much he can do on his own and what I need to help him do. I doubt I sleep a wink though just listening for him.

Monster's treatment has been in a holding pattern this past week. I've continued to keep him on the oral antibiotics, other than that it's been up to Mother Nature and God. Dr. B is going to come out tomorrow and give him some drugs so that we/he can examine his eye and hopefully it has continued to heal.

Tuesday it will be back to work for me. It is easy for me to say that this past week has been the worst vacation I have ever taken.

Oh dear INDY, no doubt this has been the worst vacation week ever.  My heart goes out to you, and Bill, and Monster, hope his eye is healing very well.  Big hugs ((((INDY)))).
ELLEN, totally empathize with losing great neighbors.  Why can't the lesser neighbors be the ones that leave?

CB, yes I would be a hard act to follow, cause I might be just a tad crazy!  LOL It's just that the only exercise, entertainment, relaxation I get or want is horse related so that's what I do.  Hopefully I can continue for a long time still.  As long as I confine myself to the gentle breed I should be good!
TRUDY, you certainly aren't relaxing through your retirement.  Proud of your activities!
GM, Tell us how your boys are doing and what they are learning, been so long since I've had younguns that I am surprised daily by both.  Personalities are so different.  Inky is the independent, stubborn one who requires your attention continually, good and bad (hence, the Stinky Inky) and Cross is the same quiet and sweet, cooperative boy every day.  Challenging for sure.

Happy October everyone. My favorite season is upon us. We finally got rain and lots of it. Too late for the remaining veggies in the garden but very good for the well.

CB & GRAYMARE: You didn't miss my birthday it's actually Friday but we don't have a meeting this week so I won't see the girls this week so they surprised me last week. Thanks for the birthday wish. I'll take good wishes anytime. The church transposed my birthdate to July 7, so in July, I received birthday cards and didn't know why. I had 2 birthdays this year. OH NO does that make me 2 years older? LOL

INDYAPP: I bet you are so happy that vacation week the week from hell is over. What a nightmare week you guys had.

ARK: Today is new truck day for you & Donnie. Always a fun day getting a new vehicle. You'll be riding in style now and getting to smell that new vehicle smell.

Our Humana Insurance guy is coming today to try to explain the new and improved health care for 2017.

 I am sorry your neighbors are moving away.  I hope the wife will be happy, it doesn't sound like she wants to move.  It was very nice of them to throw a party to make the new neighbors welcomed.

  Oh, good.  I thought I had missed your birthday.  You and George sure stay busy for people who are supposed to be retired!  We are looking forward to the new truck this afternoon!  It is a diesel, so we hope it lasts many years.  I am surprised Donnie is so agreeable about it being my main driving vehicle.  I have test driven it twice so that he was sure I liked it.  He usually drives a vehicle for months before I do.  It drives a lot like my old Blazer, which I loved.

 Did they come get Faith yet?  I hope she and the little girl have a long, happy life together.

Wow. That is a terrible vacation! The best part is that Bill, and Monster, seem to be recovering. Now go to work and get some rest this week!

Busy week coming up.  My lesson with Lori will be Wednesday,  it will be on Areion.  Thursday, dentist....yuck.   We go to KY to pick up Annie on Saturday.  She will be here for two weeks, then back to KY.

ARK, Faith left a couple of weeks ago. Her picture with her new
cowgirl (12 yrs old) is at her new home. They are happily working the pens etc on their cattle ranch. They also do cutting. She gets off the school bus & saddles up as I hear it.

INDY, really glad to read the good news about BILL and MONSTER.
Praying for continued improvement for both. I'm sure you're stressed so hope barn chores are relaxing for you.

CB, I don't get it. How are you hauling everything to TX or are you having a moving company? I didn't realize you're heading
off so soon. Anyhow, safe journey to you, for sure.

ELLEN, glad your party was fun and that the new neighbors will fit right in.

TRUDY, our fall is here in the mountains and today is a postcard day. Like you, I love fall. Our aspens are all yellow and maples are red. It's gorgeous.

ARK, forgot, have a great time in your new truck.

GM, first trip down will be horses and mini and truck camper and my car. Come back for the camper we just got and.take it down....we r done. We have sold furniture, don't need moving van.

CB, did the last lookers put in an offer yet? It's so stressful waiting for a property to sell.

It's a hurry up and wait world. The dealer didn't finish the truck bed liner in time, so no truck for us today. Supposedly, we will get it tomorrow afternoon. We have already transferred the car title to them, so I am not driving it. My imagination is vividly telling me to not crash the car at the last moment before we trade it in.

My week got busier. The hay I ordered is being delivered tomorrow at lunch time. I was hoping he would wait until next week, but he has it on the trailer. We will be up with the birds moving tractor, hay equipment and pallets around to get ready for him.

Ark, no offers yet....it has only been for sale since aug. 20, so am not too worried. Wish it would sell, but time will tell.
I guess I will keep her for now and see.....it's been tough deciding, I can tell you that. We will see how things go.

This move is easiest one, no u hauls needed. We have really pared things down, we could move into a tiny house, oh wait we are! Tiny camper. We have a bed, dresser, tv, 2 recliners, some dishes, clothes, some keepsakes....down to nitty gritty. Sold extra saddles, extra horse stuff will go to the kids and some keepsakes and pictures divided between them now. They won't have to go thru our stuff when we r gone, cuz all we will have is our vehicles, campers, my dogs that my oldest would take, and they can find a rescue for the horses if they are still with us. Simplifying things. Nothing to fight over either, as they r getting things they wan t now, vehicles all sold, what money will be divided, have small life insurance, that whatever is left divided. It's all done. We r a tad on crazy side moving, again, but we r looking for that one place that checks all our boxes....lol....
Well, I'm painting the back porch today, so guess it's get up and get er done.

Well my big ol bulldog baby got really scared in the backyard, I saw him running for me, but he was on my lap before I could do anything. My teacup went one way, my phone another and I thought he was going to flip us over! All 80 lbs of bulldog! He sat on my belly shaking like a.leaf. I got him off to go investigate, which was a job in itself as he.didn't want off of mommy's lap...lol.
Seems the squirrels r stealing the walnuts that have fallen, and he is.scared to death when they chatter at him. Lol...big brave bulldogge.

Wow, CB, you're in a busy state right now. I'm sure things will settle down after your second trip with your bigger trailer. Makes me tired thinking about it. Just stay safe and let us hear how it all goes.

Rose, news says they want people to evacuate a 100 miles off the coast, does include you. Rick, r u in any danger from hurricane matthew. Sunny dawn thinks they will be alright. A friend of ours in loris is thinking about going west....he's paying close attention.

CB ... Quite honestly I haven't paid much attention to news since computer died in May. And we are in what is generally considered to be a safe area. May get some rain etc. I'll be keeping closer check on it ... Thanks for asking.

Ark, are you out driving around in your new truck?

We FINALLY got the truck late this afternoon. They took their time installing the bedliner, then took more time replacing a tire that had a flat spot and made a clicking sound. I had a riding lesson this afternoon, so Donnie picked it up by himself. The insurance folks were closed, it was after 5p.m., So I didn't get to drive it at all. I will call them in the morning, then immediately drive it to the dentist office....That will be fun...

However, it is a lovely truck! I will post a photo tomorrow.

I didn't ride Ivan today, I was saving my hip joint for Areion. Ivan got a full lesson being ridden by Lori. He did great, even when the bridle suddenly fell off his face! It lost a buckle somehow on the nose piece that holds the hackamore. We looked everywhere and never found it, so I put a regular web halter on him with the reins and he finished his lesson just fine. I am glad this didn't happen out in the woods somewhere... Lori said he had really improved since she last rode him several months ago.

Then she rode Areion for awhile to warm her up for my lesson. Areion did well at first, then got a little spooky. But she seemed mostly okay, so I got on her. I was riding her at a walk when she went into a big spook, started a spin and bolt move. I did a fast one rein stop, but she was skittering all over. I knew I was going to come off and grabbed her mane and got my right foot out of the stirrup. I managed to keep her turned enough that she didn't bolt, but I flew out of the saddle. With visions of landing on my back, I actually landed on my feet! After telling Areion off, I got back on her, but she was still looking for reasons to spook, so Lori rode her again and wore some of that energy off. Then I got back on, again, and she was quiet. Unfortunately, I have strained some new muscles, but at least didn't hit the ground.

When I turned Areion loose, she had to urinate really bad, so that may be why she was acting up. Or not.....

Niiiiice truck, Ark. Took the horses and mini for Coggins test today, everyone did good loading, unloading, loading, unloading....just fine aND calmly..yay. hope they behave on the trip. Camper is loaded.....

Wow, hope the Floridians are evacuating as warned.......Hurricane Matthew sounds horrendous.......CB, did SUNNY have to evacuate?
They just showed a family on our news that went to Virginia and then flew here to AZ........
