ELLEN :
Congrats on the jetski earning its keep!   Nice!

TRUDY:
How did the parade go? You are right about how putting up hay is too much work. Donnie and I wonder how long we can keep it up. We are slugs this weekend! Laughing

CB:
I hope you can slow down for awhile!  That is a lot of traveling lately!

GRAYMARE:
That is good news about your friends!!  wavy   I'd love to see a photo of the lady and her mule.

We had such great weather all weekend!  Cooler than normal and bright blue skies.  Nice!  Saturday we went to a benefit horse show for a local farrier who got hit by a truck while riding his horse.  He will be out of work for awhile and apparently the horse is doing okay.  It was a cute little horse show.  No one knew what they were doing and just had fun doing it. Smile

Sunday, Lori came over so I could have a lesson on Areion.  It was forecast to rain all this coming week, so we snuck the lesson in today.  (They have since changed the forecast, Rolling Eyes ).  Anyway,  I rode Ivan first for his 20 minutes of walking with 5 minutes of trotting interspersed in it.  He did fine, but seemed a bit lethargic.  I think he has gotten used to the lazy life.

Areion was wonderful!  She didn't do anything to give me a scare and we had a good time.  I think she has decided to be kind to me while I figure out what she already knows how to do.  She has been great for a month.  Donnie was home so he took pix and was my timer for Ivan's therapy ride.  Helped a lot!

ARK: Those little fun shows are the best shows. No pressure, just a good time for you and your horse, I miss them.

The parade was really nice, we had a nice time, the weather was perfect, nice and cool instead of that burning 85 degrees we had been having.

Today is National Purple Heart Day and we are having a picnic for all the Veterans. Of course, it's going to rain all day. Oh well, what's a little rain on a picnic? It's in a big pavilion so we shall survive the rain. These guys have survived a whole lot worse than a little rain. It's being catered so no making any food. YEAH.

Ark, your horses are looking good. I'm so glad you are having such a good time with them. Lori has been a great find for you.

Trudy, that is a beautiful caisson and team.

Today is "baby" day. A third cousin had a fourth cousin this evening, and Travis and Jamie are going to have a baby sister for Little Misses Scarlett and Lilah by tomorrow evening. This has been the summer of babies.

ELLEN:
Congrats on all the new babies!! wavy  Have you knitted the all the baby things yet?

RICK
Good to see you!  Now be sure to post under the current month, please don't start a new thread.  I guess I had better figure out how to prevent that from happening.  Your post is going to disappear in a day or so, but may appear on this thread if I figure out how to do it.....

We have had a cloudy cool day here.  Kind of nice.  It rained off and on.  We actually need a bit of rain, so no complaints from here!

Testing ... to see if I can get something posted on here. I had a long(er) posting done a few weeks ago and it disappeared before it showed up here.

All is well here except I'm getting lazier, older, and more allergic to work.

Love to all...Rick

Ark, I knitted two baby outfits. One baby came early so hers wasn't done until she was nearly a month old. I got the other one done before he arrived. For the third one, I'm going to embroider a fleece blanket. They haven't told me her name yet (although Scarlett did), so I can't do that one until they tell me the official name. But, that won't take long.

Where's ROSE. We need you to check in. Just say "I'm OK". Typing one handed is hard so you don't have to write a long post. We just care.

ROSE:
It would be good to hear from you.....

ELLEN:
I knew you had those babies' gifts ready! Very Happy It would be funny to use the name Scarlet gave you and then have it be wrong. Laughing

I had lunch with one of my riding friends today. We talked horses and such while being waited on by a young lady wearing a pair of very tight short short shorts that were flesh toned and looked like underwear. A very nice restaurant, too. I must be getting old, I was embarrassed for her. Embarassed I have had nightmares about being caught out in public wearing something like that. ROFL

The weather got better this week than the rain they predicted would happen everyday. It was very pretty this afternoon. Lori is coming tomorrow for another lesson with Areion, it is supposed to be 78 degrees and partly cloudy. I hope the weather guys are right this time!

Sorry gang, I'm really trying to get better but dang if it isn't hard! Sad
My arm is still swollen to 3 times its normal size!  I  go back to see the surgeon tomorrow, maybe he'll tell me something good! Smile Smile I've been trying to use that hand and wrist as much as possible and I'm not taking the hydracodeine or the oxy anymore just plain old ibuprofin.  I hate drugs but to be honest the first week or two oxy was my friend.  I could hardly walk, both knees stove up.  Met with my attorney today, a very nice young lady!  How in heavens does one break a great toe in a durn collision?  Thats beyond me Question   GM, thank heavens you don't have any lingering effects!  ARK, Trudy, and CB, ya'll please slow down, you're wearing me out!  Good news here, I have a new to me vehicle!  A 2015 Honda CRV, Touring edition with all wheel drive and every bell and whistle known to man (that I'm still trying to figure how to use) sunny I totally love it and its easy to drive with 1 hand!!!  Okay, enough for now, thanks so much for th love, prayers and well wishes!!!  Love and hugs all around!!!

wavy bouncy wavy

Congrats to parents and sisters of Baby Nora!!  Was this the name Scarlet gave you?  Laughing   Those parents are good at getting baby girls.  Very Happy

ROSE:
Oh, good! I am so glad to see you here. Congrats on the new car, but I am sure sorry for how you had to get it. Wow, your poor arm...and toe...and everything else. I hope you are feeling better soon....immediately would be better. hug

CB:
 Horses?

GRAYMARE:
Did your weather ever settle down?  We have been having a nice week, but it is going to get messy soon.

I had another lesson on Areion today.  She was good.  I was a bit stiff, but she didn't seem to mind.  We haven't been lunging her before her lessons in the last month and she has been better than when we did lunge her.  I think she was tired of that.  Ivan was good today, too.  I rode him bareback to warm myself up before riding Areion.

Rose, I'm so glad to see you posting. Keep working that wrist. It will get better. My fingers were swollen for several weeks but are pretty well back to normal now. It was at least 6 or 8 weeks before I felt like there was hope for it to be normal again. I was very fortunate that I didn't need any of the heavier drugs, even though the surgeon gave me a prescription for it. Didn't fill the prescription. Aleve fixed it up pretty well.

Sounds like you got a nice car. The bells and whistles are fun. Mine has the Bluetooth phone thing so I can talk (rarely) completely hands free, and the sound quality is very good. I think that's my favorite toy, even though I don't use it very much at all.

Yes. Scarlett was right about the name. I was pretty sure she knew what she was talking about, but I wasn't going to go ahead with the blanket until I heard it from Mommy and Daddy. It makes me think of Nick and Nora and Asta, from that TV show YEARS and YEARS ago. Can't think of the name of the show. Of course, Nora's parents don't even know that show existed so long ago.

We have been having a wonderful stretch of weather. It's perfect. High 70s, mostly sunny, just a bit of breeze. Doesn't get any better than that.

The hearse in the parade belongs to a local funeral home. It was so cool. I had to run and take a photo of it.

The Purple Heart picnic was a success. It actually stopped raining from 2:30 to around 9, so we managed to have the picnic, of course, some people didn't show up but the caterer did and she was the main person. The food was all homemade from scratch and wonderful. 44 out of the 65 who were supposed to come showed up.

Our Purple Heart chapter gave out service recognition awards to a Purple Hearter, Fireman, Policeman and the Gold Star parents at the picnic. They were all so surprised, it was wonderful.

This morning I'm off to breakfast with my Barnabas team members, tomorrow meeting with the new team leader.

So far we have gathered 67 eggs from Jeff's chickens, 2 more days to go until he gets home.

RICK:
Have a great trip, but don't bring back any cold weather! sunny Cool You are going to miss the eclipse....too bad you will be sailing along on a luxury cruise while we are all staring at the sun... hysterical

We are going to go somewhere to see the total eclipse, but won't know for sure where until the weather can be predicted. Donnie has been waiting for years for this event. If the weather is good we will probably go to S.C. If it is cloudy there, we will go west, perhaps to Tennessee. If the entire country is cloudy, Donnie is going to pitch a fit. Rolling Eyes

It was cloudy all day here today. Nice and cool, too. I am busy dehydrating apples from our tree. They are so tasty!
