But we want our toys with us. We r removing the couch in the big camper and putting smaller kennels where the couch would go. Will keep the big one for the two bulldogs for outsude time when we are out there. Take scooters and bikes with us to play for us....so we need a trailer to pull behind the rv, and it has to be smaller than the horse trailer.

I am computerless for a few days. I took it to the shop this morning knowing it had been starting up strangely lately. As soon as he turned it on and there were green lines all over it was obvious that I had gotten it in just in time. He started backing up everything to my hard drive. And then I ordered a new laptop which won't be in until Tuesday or Wednesday. It's a good thing I figured out how to get here on my phone. The phone is going to get a lot of exercise.

ELLEN:
Thank goodness for your phone! Very Happy I hope you get all your photos and stuff off the old computer okay. I need to do that with my old computer. I just logged onto it this evening for the first time in months and had to figure out how to do it. I am spoiled with this little ChromeBook. It is so easy to use.

I spent a lot of time today cleaning up after all the rain and mud of yesterday kept me from doing it. We had boot sucking mud in the barnlot and the horses stayed in all day. I am still dogsitting the neighbor's dogs. One is deaf, making him fun to round up. He is a white border collie with dalmation type spots on him. He's very cute and sweet, but can't hear a thing. The dogs are starting to appreciate me more, they like getting their breakfast and dinner when I show up. It's the secret of my success with dogs.... Rolling Eyes

We are going to have a pretty 50 degree day tomorrow, then the rain returns all weekend. Lots of it. I may try to tack up Ivan tomorrow and try out that 'new' saddle. The stirrup leathers came in, so I have all the parts now. Ivan has been acting like he misses the work....or the snacks... so I guess I had better do something with him.

I am smiling. We got about 2 or 3 inches of snow last night, so this morning, the guy from the marina came by and cleared my driveway. My car has all wheel drive, so I can get in and out, even if it isn't plowed. I so much appreciate the thoughtfulness.

A week or so ago, I made a vinyl cover for the patio umbrella. Travis is tall enough to reach the top of it, so he put the cover on. I was very happy to see that my very simple project works just right. Very Happy

ELLEN:
No snow here, but rain and lots of it is coming Saturday and Sunday.  Yippee, more mud.   Congrats on making your umbrella cover!   I need to re-cover my old couch, which is actually younger than my newer couch which is an antique.....got all that?  Laughing Anyway,  I need to make new couch cushion covers for it, it looks pretty terrible.

CB:
That sounds pretty hot!  I was thrilled with 52 degrees today!  It has been so cold and wet here for days.  Have fun in Vegas!

I did manage to get a short ride on Ivan this afternoon.  I figured out how to put the new saddle together and we  had a pleasant ride in the arena.  The footing is good in there, unlike anywhere else in our world.  Ivan was incredibly patient while I was figuring out how to get those stirrup leather on and the right length.  I still think I need to lower them another notch or two, but we did okay with them.  He just stood there untied and without a halter while I fiddled around with the saddle for a long time.  Good horsey.   It turns out my safety cage stirrups are in Lori's trunk from the last time we used them on her saddle, so I had to use regular stirrups.  Ivan had no opinion on stirrups....

Looking good Ark.

We got hammered with snow yesterday.  How about you ELLEN?  I haven't heard an official amount but I know I have a good 10 inches if not more on top of what we already had.   Schools and some business started announcing closing Thursday night.  All schools decided to be closed Friday morning and most factories. Most of those that didn't close first thing were closing up by noon.  Our office closed up around 1:00.  I decided to stop at McDonalds on the way home and slid into the snow pile while trying to turn into the driveway.  Fortunately I was able to back right out.   I then slid through a stop light on the way home.  Someone slid into the ditch at the end of my road.  I was very happy to pull into my garage.  I haven't been out of the house except to feed and snow blow the driveway a couple of times.  Maybe tomorrow I'll make it to the grocery store to see if there is any milk left.

Anyone watching the Olympics?  For some reason it bugs me that the South Korean ice dancing team is actually from the US.  I didn't hear how the woman ended up skating for them but I did hear the guy got his S. Korean citizenship in 2015.  What?  Do the athletes who don't think they can qualify for the US team just look for any country that will sponsor them?

I think I will watch some more Heartland.

Indy, I am just far enough south that the really heavy snow missed us. We only got about 3 or 4 inches. It was enough for the snowmobiles.

As for the ice dancing there are LOTS of them who have double citizenship. When they aren't good enough to make the American team, they skate for the other country. We have many of the best coaches in the world, so many of the skaters live and train here in the US.
So, it's a compliment to our country and the quality of our skaters and trainers.
Tanith Belbin was originally Canadian, but became an American citizen so she could skate with Ben and represent the US. She and Ben Agusto were US, Olympic, and world champions. She was one of the commentators last night.

It was 3 degrees this morning, but zipped right up to 23. Later in the week, it will be in the 40s. For the next month, it will be roller coaster weather.
Yesterday, Travis and Wife and some friends played with snowmobiles all afternoon. Baby Nora came to my house to watch the Olympics with me. They rode all around the area and all over another lake. The weather was perfect for them.
Travis tied a tube to one of the snowmobiles and pulled the other girls around. They loved it.

Things are fairly boring here in the world of sun.

Today was a break in the monotony of sun.........cloudy & windy today with temp only 60. I got a lot done then went out for lunch, then to Walmart. The horses are dirty & happy. Both need serious grooming.
Ha, not a chance this week. Hay delivery tomorrow. So goes it.

God bless. Prayers for ALL.

Ouch. That's too cold for me, 3 degrees. We've been relatively warm the last few days, although it is going to only be 36 degrees tomorrow. Thursday is supposed to be 61 ! I can accept that! The mud has been really bad after all the rain we have had this week. We got about 2.5 inches. Seems if it is warm, it is raining. But at least it wasn't snow!

My horses are all the same color, camouflage brown. You have to look hard to see who is who...well, except for Trinket. Her size gives her away despite her camouflage.

We are still watching and reading Game of Thrones....gasp, gasp....Just when things look bleak, it gets bleaker...Whew. We are finishing up season 4. I am not sure what we will do when we get thru all 7 seasons and have to wait for the final season in 2019. I just started the fifth, and last, book. It has over 1100 pages. It should keep me busy for a few days.

The neighbor's dogs and I are bonding....Rolling Eyes She is still in Denver, I am still dog sitting.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE

I'm back in the land of the living and not sleeping 24/7.  Managed to get a upper respiratory infection and have spent the last week sleeping and sleeping and sleeping.  Passed out on a trip to the bathroom, pulled a free standing mirror down on myself during the night last Weds.  Thank God it didn't break, I would have been cut to shreds.  Woke George up when we crashed to the floor.  Went to the doctor and got some meds to control the non stop coughing.  Still not 100% back on my feet but I'm working toward getting better.

Snow in our forecast, going to the store today.....

Yoshi our 2 year old bulldogge has a neck size of 25 inches...some of my danes wasnt that big. Ill have to get him weighed again....hes a big boy and very strong. We had to buy a shock collar, he has face planted us both in the dirt and broke my middle finger....had to have some control.  Or he will need a younger, stronger owner. When he takes off its like holding onto a rocket.
Happy valentines day.

Nope. No computer yet. The shop owner said it should be here Monday. I think they must have sent it by stage coach since it will take over a week to get here from California.
I will definitely be glad to have it. Typing on the phone or tablet is really slow.
