Rain and tonight a lot of wind, up to 50mph here. March is coming in like a lion. Hopefully it will go out like a lamb.

So how's everyone?

Shocked Shocked Shocked Snow snow go away, come again some other day.

CB, I'm amazed every time I walk in a Walmart.............the way people dress is disgusting. A decent T shirt costs the same as a tank top. It proves I'm old & covered in clothes that fit, not necessarily good, but they fit.

lol! lol! lol!

Ark, 5 weeks is a long time to take care of somebody else's dogs. When is she coming back?

It shows how gullible much of the public is to be convinced that they look great in really bad clothes. The so-called designers come up with some "style" and then tell young girls and women they HAVE to have it.
When I was growing up, clothes were chosen according to what was most flattering to the body type. I guess that idea is long gone.

Today, we have seen wind with rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow, and back to rain again. I think it might be getting close to the end for today. I hope. After being nearly 2 feet above normal, the water level is slowly receding.

ELLEN:
I have no idea when the neighbor is going to show up. I pet her dogs twice a day, but they aren't getting enough attention. I hope she shows up soon. I had her mail held until Feb 28th, so they delivered it yesterday. Boxes and boxes of boxes and boxes....It will be like Christmas for her when she does get home. She apparently likes to shop online a lot.
When she asked me to take care of her dogs, she didn't mention she was going to be gone so long. I thought she might be gone for a couple of weeks at most. Unfortunately, I don't think I trust her to take care of my animals, so it won't be a two-way street for taking care of animals. She took care of our place when we went to SC last April. We got home a couple of hours early and found our door standing open and Kumquat had an injured tail. She doesn't lock her own door and apparently didn't lock ours either. Kumquat and ThunderPuff are inside cats and could have been killed on the road. We never said anything to her about it, but it didn't inspire us to have her do it again.

The wind has arrived and is going to get much worse over the next day or so. The horses were acting like wild things this evening, wind tends to turn them on.

CB:
As far as I know she is fine. She is helping a friend in Denver who broke an ankle or something. The friend is trying to get home care, but hasn't as of last week. The friend raises borzoi dogs and needs help feeding them. Our neighbor isn't exactly good at telling us things, she can be very secretive, so I don't know the details of much. She does love her dogs, that much is clear. I wish she would come home and take care of them.

I had a nice lunch today at a Mexican restaurant with an old friend. It was nice getting out! I have been a homebody all winter.

Hello everyone.  I'm finally better and back into the world of the living.  It's been a very long 4 weeks.  Hope I never get that stuff again.  It's running rampant around here.  Everyone is sick.  The scary part is the dizzy stuff and people falling down.

CB:  We have people who come to church looking like that.  It's appalling.  We sit in the foyer where George holds court for the Veterans and watch them go by. George always makes this joke saying he is going to bring a full length mirror and set it up in the foyer so people can see how they look.  What cracks me up is big fluffy women (I can say that being a fluffy old girl) wearing tall thin high heels that they can't walk in.  I'm always waiting for their heels to break off and they stomp by.  There is a art to wearing those shoes and being to walk correctly in them.

In like a lion out like a lamb.  It came in like sort of a lamb yesterday but today is making up for it.  Up north is supposed to get a lot of snow today, us just an inch or so.

Happy March everyone.  Only 19 more days until SPRING....

Trudy, it's good to hear that you are feeling so much better. The flu that is going around this year is bad stuff.

Today, three of us went to a funeral for the father of one of our neighbors. I did not know the man, but it was the right thing to do for the neighbor. The old small church was simply beautiful. The man who died was a painter and had painted the inside of the church 4 or 5 times over the years. He must have had a HUGE ladder because the middle of the church had a really TALL ceiling. There were several gorgeous stained glass windows. The ladies of the church provided lunch for everybody. Like the ladies of most churches, they are good cooks.

It has been a perfectly beautiful day, bright and sunny, mid 40s. The water levels are slowly going down.

CB:
I think I must have missed that you had puppies. I bet they are cute!

GRAYMARE:
Sorry about your burnt lunch Laughing . I have been learning to use an air-fryer and have burnt a few things lately, too. I tend to overcook stuff in it....too much. It is an interesting device, though. Our latest favorite thing to make is zucchini fries, done without deep-frying. Pretty tasty, if you don't burn them!

My sister, Vicki, keeps me up on the cooking world of kitchen appliances. She gave me the air-fryer for Christmas and then has given me an Insta-Pot for my birthday. I haven't used that yet, it is a bit intimidating. She loves hers, though. I will try it soon.

I had lessons on both Ivan and Areion yesterday, with Lori. It has been 3 months since we had an arena lesson and I definitely needed it. The good news is, the hip/thigh muscle pain I usually go thru wasn't too bad and I haven't had the usual after pains at all! wavy I rode for about 2 hours, with a fair amount of trotting, on both horses. Areion was especially fun, she and I are getting along well lately. She is so smooth and comfortable to ride.

Ark, don't be afraid of your new Instant Pot. You will love it. There are LOTS of youtube videos about how to use it and recipes for it.

Tomorrow is haircut day! Yippee!! It's been too long, both the time and the hair.

Last weeks big storm missed us.  We got about 1" and it didn't last.  The Poconos got hammered and some people are still without power.  Anxiously awaiting the storm that is supposed to arrive tonight into tomorrow.  We dd have ferocious winds.  March is always a month of wait and see.

ELLEN:  Enjoy your hair cut.  I finally had mine cut last Friday, it was looking like a bush.  Ruth says fever makes your hair grow faster.  Who knew?

CB:  Congrats on the pups.  Didn't know your doggie was having pups.

ARK: My son has one of those air fryers, he loves it. He is bugging us to get one.

George & Ricky ground down a bunch of old tree stumps yesterday, that will make his mowing a little easier and save the mower blades when he runs over them.

Son Kevin came up and brought us 3 Google minis, so we can talk to each other no matter where we are in the house.  Now we have 4.  They are kinda cool.  The one in the kitchen heard something on TV about pizza and started tell us where the closest pizza shops are.  LOL LOL  Freaked us old foops out.  This new age stuff is too wild for us.

The contractors are coming today to install the shower doors.  HOORAY.  I am sick of that dumb shower curtain in the walk in shower, It's a pain in the butt.

Taxes on Friday and that's my not busy week.

I'm home with considerably less hair. Had a good visit with my cousin, we ate a good lunch, and I headed for home - driving through a very brief but strong rain/sleet/hail storm. It was windy all the way home, but shortly after, the wind died down and the lake is like a mirror.

Hi BEECH, how're you holding up? Everything OK?
I saw where York was badly hit and I assumed from Portland all up the coast
was a mess. I know MA, RI, CT, NY, and Made a mess also. Just
praying for those in the storm path.

That storm must have done some major building after it left here. We only got about a quarter inch of snow last night. It's been cold enough all day that it didn't melt.

Did some embroidering, stayed with the girls for a little while, so a nice day.

The big storm missed us, it stayed out east. The Poconos got hammered again. They have been out of power since last Friday. All we had was snowflakes.

Something went wild with my phone/computer yesterday. I tried to send a photo of our new shower doors to my BFF and last night when I looked at my email, I had 999 drafts of that photo waiting for me to send. WHAT???? affraid

Thank goodness it didn't send the 999 photos. I had to delete each photo one at a time. My BFF would have a fit if I had sent her 999 photos of shower doors. Mad Crazy computers...

999 photos would have probably filled up her e-mail. Very Happy Yes, computers do some strange things now and then.

We got about 17 flakes of snow this morning, but the sun is out now, so I'm hoping that most of it will melt off today.

The water level is still high, only about 10 inches now. So, closer to normal.
