OL'MAN
Thanks! We have a good sized JD dealer here that can service the tractor and they are running a zero percent interest rate for 60 months, so it just seems like a good option for us. We are going to get a mini round baler made by IHI Star that makes 40 to 60 pound round bales that I will be able to handle. Ask me how I like it in a year and I may not be so thrilled about it, LOL.

RICK
We almost decided on a blue tractor, but not the one you love. There is a local LS tractor dealer here, same pretty color as the New Holland tractors. I
do love that color!

GRAYMARE and ELLEN
Thanks! I am not sure if I can post tomorrow or not. Thanks for the good thoughts!

ARK, yesssss....good luck and I'll be HUMMIN for ya! clear sailing and clear sight, that will be great! And I'll bet you will lover your tractor and baler! woohoo! congrats! of course we'll need pics!

Joey and Jessi and the grands plus one friend, came out today and they rode the horses, played with the filly and baby goats. They were going to ride Cinnamon but she was lame on a back foot! I havn't a clue what she did! She was fine yesterday on our ride. No marks, no swellings...she has me stumped! Anyway the kids have all gone as we sit here recouping our energy agter being thrown into that whirlwind of kids! They had a great time tho!

Sunny is having problems getting on site. I wonder if some of the others were having problems too is why they went to acebook...I know I do ever since we came here. Just a tought.

Well, back to checking out the inside of my eyelids...

I'm having probs getting on and ARK, Sunny asked i you could send her user name and password to her...I told her I would ask if I could get back on. I don't know what is going on, but its hard to get on site.

WEll, all the critters had their runs, pens cleaned, horses all fed and watered and its almost dark...feeding our faces and having an early night I think, as soon as he baby goats get their last bottle that is...worse than having a newborn baby! tongue

Sweet Dreams!

Good Monday morning everyone.

ARK: Praying for your eye surgery to go well today. We have a couple John Deer tractors and love them, they are built well.

CB: You life sure has changed from the living alone way up there in ID, to a house full of kids and grand kids to play with. Way to go girlfriend.

I don't do facebook...not enough time in my retirement life. LOL Who knew being retired would keep one so busy.

I never have a hard time getting on the forum. I'll be staying here as long as it is up and running.

Life is good here in PA, the weather is finally getting nice and we have been working in the garden every day. Can't wait to get started with the planting of the veggies.

Have a great day everyone.

Love & prayers for all.

Hey Ms CB and Harry of course---

what ever happened to a movie charcter call Charlie-2 horse????

Anyway the horse shoer just trimmed toes of gelding and we consulted and agreed just watch a see if they "kick" off rst of toe nails like last yr. Way back we used to ride
a lot and he sure knows first hand what a horse foot is!!!

Oh , oh My grand son is in Ntl guard and has just finshed first year at college. You know more about it than I do but I am really surprised and happy that they keep those
solders in top shaape. He was first in basic, got to carry some kind of flag.

OL MAN, that is great for your grandson, so glad he is getting his education. It's a good deal the armed forces offer, I know Jessi and her hubby Joey are taking advanage of the program. They have to keep really fit and trim too!

I don't know about a Charlie 2 horse...neither did hubby? Course he forgets a lot of things...

What does it mean about kicking the rest of the toe nails off? I've never heard that expression before?

Harry and I have ridden more in 7 months than we did the last 5-6 years....really enjoying it! There are so many trails to ride at the State Park just up the road from us, and we have been taking advantage of it being so close to us!

We had a little bit of neighborhood excitement this afternoon. Neighbor Pirkko called saying that her 76 year old husband had slipped and fallen in the water off their dock. He has chronic major lung problems and couldn't get up out of the water and onto their pier. Neighbor Pat was here at my house, so he and I instantly took off and headed down there. By the time we got there, he was sitting on the seawall. protesting calling EMS. We called anyway. He wasn't hurt but was having trouble breathing, probably having inhaled some water. Just a few minutes later, the EMS arrived, got everything under control and headed off to the ER.
Pirkko was so thankful for neighbors she could call.

Glad to hear you and the other neighbor were close by and that all appears to be ok. Tell your neighbor that although spring seems to FINALLY be here, it still needs to be warmer before jumping in the lake.

Just heard from Pirkko. They are taking her husband by ambulance to a larger hospital in Ft. Wayne because his lungs were filling with fluid and he needs to be seen by a specialist. He's having a worse reaction to falling in the water because of the pre-existing lung condition.

oh dang that news, ELLEN! I sure hope he gets his lungs cleared and it doesn't turn into pneumonia...but glad you went to his aid and called the EMS folks...it just may have saved his life.

We actually had a nice steady rain today for several hours...the horses enjoyed it as it was warm out, and of course they all had to roll! Rolling Eyes

Hubby ran to WalMart while I vacuumed the carpet...and when he gets back its time to start watering and feeding the hungry crew! I think you could feed a horse ten times a day and they still would always present theirselves as hungry! and where the heck have you been and why has it been so long since I ate! bounce Surprised silly horses!

Well the sun is shining now...hope all is well in all of foopland for all our foops and foopettes!

I may not post as often as some do, either, but I do check in now and then to catch up and see how y'all are getting on.
It's not that I'm on Facebook or any of those other media, just that I don't have things to say each day and don't want to bore anyone!

ARK - I'm thinking of you and hope all has gone well today. Expect you'll not be on here for a couple of days yet, though.

CB - your life in TX sounds great, I wish my family all lived near and dropped round to eat or just a chat. I see my son in Dublin quite a bit, we share the same liking for certain movies (which none of my friends do!), so he calls me when he and his pals are going, to see if I want to join them.

So..... guess what type of movies are my favourites?....
Scroll down to see....

I like Science Fiction/Fantasy movies and Action Thrillers, the more action the better, especially car chases! ClappingHands
So, anyone on here share my tastes? Very Happy
Or what do y'all like to watch?

Oh, and I forgot to say... yippee, I will be visiting TX next month, end of June, for about 3 weeks.
I filled in my ESTA (Visa) application this evening, on the computer, and got immediate approval! (all visitors/tourists have to do that now to get entry to the USA).
Can't wait to see TX son and the two boys (grandchildren). It's going to be hot by the time I get there, but I'm used to it now and just don't go out in the middle of the day. But I guess we'll find plenty to do - maybe another couple of riding lessons, like we did last summer. I like the idea that they'll grow up at least a bit familiar with horses.

I sure hope your neighbor recovers fully.

SILVERDANCER
I am home and doing okay....if looking a bit like Popeye the Sailor. My left eye is very dilated and I have to squint like him. I can already tell my vision has improved and it will get better as the eye heals. With one eye wearing glasses and the other one not, my brain is scrambling to keep me from getting seasick. Next eye gets fixed next Monday. I yam what I yam....:-)

I like sci fi, fantasy and adventure movies, too....and comedies, animal shows and some cartoons and kid shows. I tend to avoid depressing movies, horror or slasher shows....
Favorite movies: Lord of the Ring, Star Trek 4, Ladyhawke, the 1953 version of War of the Worlds....

CB
I am glad you are in Texas, too. Sorry you have problems getting into this website. I am using my iPod to post and can't get into the admin panel tonight to get to Sunny's info.

Donnie cleaned most of the barn for me today, not his favorite activity. I am not supposed to lift over 20 pounds for awhile. He also made dinner! What a guy!

ARK, make sure ya eat yer spinach! toot toot! Sounds like you are your way to no more glasses! Won't that take some getting use to, but such a nice getting use to it will be!

Sunny, glad you made it. Sometimes it took me 4 or 5 days to get back on, and it would tell me the same thing. Its actually been better lately only be a few days, but now it does it to me twice a month! affraid

SilverD, where in Texas are you going again? Yep, it will be very hot by then, its already been up to 97 here, and in te high 80's all this week, and then 79 for Saturday, so I guess if we want to ride it will be Saturday!

ELLEN, any news on your neighbor?

Carol, last we saw from you you were getting ready to ride, how was the ride? How is your weather?

Indy, have you gotten to ride lately? Does your T remember everything he learned?

BEECH, do you still have snow?

Donna, how goes it?

NancyLee, whats up?

Pam, how is that new horse of yours doing?

Calling all other PAMS...where for art thou girls?

And I know there are others missing in action, check in and let us know how y'all are doing.

Ark .. glad your surgery went well. You will really like it when it is all done!!!!

CB .. I have been having huge allergy/breathing issues so not enough air to ride. Went to doctor yesterday and was told it was caused by snow mould which is really bad this year, so prednisone for several weeks should get me back to normal and snow mould should be gone this week as we are having several days of warm weather. I take the over the counter allergy stuff, but doesn't work for a big issue I guess. But, I am on my way now.

Snow mould? Can't say that I've ever heard of that. Is it what forms on the ground under a big pile of snow?

When my neighbor was moved to the hospital in Ft. Wayne, he was immediately placed in ICU, where he was tested and treated. He is much better now, and out of ICU to the step-down unit. Because I was already in Ft. Wayne, I picked up Pirkko on my way home today. She is absolutely exhausted, but is comforted that he is doing so much better. She felt that he was and is getting very good care. She was very fearful for his life yesterday. Since she's a nurse, she knew what could happen.

CAROL
I am sorry you have been feeling poorly. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and get rid of all that snow mould. What exactly is that? Sounds like another month in AZ might have been a good idea this year.

Our temps have been below normal for weeks, but at least it hasn't snowed! Our grass is growing like mad, but local hay guys say the ground isn't warm enough to cut the hay. Plus it has been raining buckets this week.

ELLEN.
I am glad your neighbor is doing better. What a scare for his wife.
Where are pix of that cute baby, Scarlett, wearing the outfit you made her on your new machine?

Donnie cleaned the barn this morning. My poor brain has a difficult time processing my odd vision, one eye wearing a lens, the other not. My vision is better in the 'new' eye! I can see my toes!!

Good Morning all.

ARK, glad to hear that your are seeing better out of your new eye. You can practice your sea chants for the next week while you play at being Popeye.

It doesn't look as if the woman who was taking pictures at the clinic is going to come through with sending me any. Darn. I've been able to ride Tiberius most days since the clinic and he is doing great for me. We went on one ride off property, down the road, through the housing development and around the corn field and back, and he did great. The only time he got nervous was when the lawn mower tractor was coming toward us while walking through the housing development. He's ok with lawn tractors, he just couldn't figure out why it was going down the road. I think he did so well because of the ponying we did when he was younger.

yep, Indy, I think ponying does help, as we have doing that wit Maximus too...he'll be 2 this month, Jessi has sat on him with us leading her around AFTER we pony him for several miles! He does really good, no attempt of bucking or going backwards...he is really level headed! and growing....

ARK, that is good that you can see your toes! yay! I understand that sea sicky feeling, I get that way with bifocals...I just can't wear them.

Carol, how are you doing?

I am doing better, but I was pretty far down the rabbit hole. Snow mould ... I assume it is just exactly what it sounds like .... mould forms on damp ground under snow and as you know we were rather prolific with snow ..... melt ...... more snow .... melt ..... snow ...... and it went on and on and on. So, Ellen you can add it to your vocabulary now.

Weather is pretty nice now and much appreciated.

I WILL ALWAYS ANNOY YOU
(Snake and Spider)

By: Kid Cameron

Once upon a time there lived a snake and spider. Before snake met spider snake had a happy life but with spider around everything was different. Spider would not leave snake alone even if snake said please stop messing with me spider I do not like you constantly messing with me.

When this was always happening they would walk and talk. For some out of the ordinary reason they always ended up in the desert. The snake got sick and tired of spider messing with him so he went and told the animal police. Then he went to his home and slithered up his favorite tree but like always spider still found a way to irritate the snake. The snake got so mad at spider that snake just ate spider. If you listen very carefully you can still here spider irritateing snake.

After hearing spider irritateing snake it is believed that you will end up irritateing snake. After irritateing snake it is likely that you will be eaten by the snake and never seen again.

The moral of the story is pick on people your own size or do not pick on anybody. Happily ever after the end. Oh one more thing spider be nice to snake, or you will have to deal with me.

==================================================================

Kid Cameron … Rick’s grandson … is in the 2nd grade. He reads well ahead of his grade level. I think he did very well with this. I've left the punctuation and a couple miss spelled words as he wrote them. This was sent home 4-7-13. His mother just said he is reading on a 5th grade level.

He's doing really well, Rick. Very cute story. Thanks for sharing.

A few weeks ago, 9 year old third grade Alex was swapping e-mails with me. It was funny to read what he had to say. He was busily inventing a harvester for a small garden. We talked about how to use radio control car servos to make the mechanics work. It was a riot.
