It's been a wonderful day to be out on the water. This evening, Travis was going to take his two little girls for a pontoon ride and invited me to go along. Jamie had to work, so she missed out this time. She'll probably get her turn tomorrow evening.

Cute and unusual!!
LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Moooove over, Ben Roethlisberger. There's a new No. 7 in western Pennsylvania. The folks at Vale Wood Farms in Loretto have named a calf "Baby Ben" after the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback because the cow has a number "7'' on his head. The farm has posted the calf's picture on its Facebook page, and WJAC-TV visited the farm about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh to see what all the fuss is about. Carissa Itle-Westrick, the director of business development for the family-owned food-and-grocery farm, is hoping Roethlisberger won't mind. She says, "Baby Ben is awfully cute, so hopefully Big Ben won't mind sharing his namesake." The farm plans to display the calf when it opens its pumpkin patch for business next month.

No doubt about it. That is definitely a 7.

If the calf is lucky, the ballplayer will adopt him to prevent the calf' s traditional fate....Cute little guy.
Donnie is out tetting the lower field one more time before windrowing it for baling. It has been so cool and cloudy all week that the hay is just not drying well. I sincerely hope it dries today. The neighbor kid can help today and my rib will appreciate his help.

RICK: Love love love Baby Ben. I sent it to all my friends who are big Steeler fans. Us Pittsburghers love anything Steeler related. Not too long ago I saw a photo of mini with a wild mane that was named Troy Polamalu. So funny..
Now that the garden is finished, we have moved onto other outdoor chores. Painting the house. NEVER buy an old wooden farmhouse!!!! Every fall we are painting something on this old house. Oh well, it keeps us moving and getting our exercise. LOL Good thing I like to paint.
Have a blessed Sunday everyone.
Love & prayers for everyone.

We are getting too much rain especially along the east coast with no end in sight, two days ago the coast got 10.8 inches in one day, everything is green, green, but humid and a lot of mosquitos, and bugs in general, there a lot of neighborhoods that are flooded along the coast, we DON'T have any problems in this area the drainage is good enough, and we have a small lake for the water to go to at least we are getting some Sun as the rain hits in the afternoon so not a total loss Well got a doctor appointment so better get going everyone have a great day

Today, the weather is just about perfect. But, it won't last much longer, so the sad day of the summer is today. We are pulling the jetskis out for the season. Travis and I have a reasonably good system. He drives the boat or jetskis, and I drive his truck with the trailer and have it in the water when he gets to the ramp.

"Thingy" pretty well covers all unnamed objects, don't you think?
Leaves are turning, and a few are starting to fall. It will be another year of leaf herding in another couple of weeks.

Ark, you better take good care of your seal suit. The company is closed. I was trying to send somebody the link and couldn't find it. After quite a bit of searching, I found information that said Carol (there really is a Carol) has Parkinson's disease, and after trying unsuccessfully to sell the company, she gave up and closed the business. Why is it that the best stuff goes away?

ELLEN: That is sad about Carol of the seal suit company. She really did have a good product. I will treasure mine....
RICK: Nice doggy video. I had one of those dogs. He grew up with my goats and was their guardian. He did his job, but I didn't sleep for the first two years. The dog barked ALL NIGHT and slept all day. A 140 pound dog has a very loud bark. No stray dog, coyote, or even the one bear that went by, wanted to mess with that dog. After he died, I couldn't think of getting another, despite him being lovable, beautiful, and good at guarding. He was also hard to keep in the field and scared the poor neighbors when he went on walk-about. Our road had been 'improved' and people flew down it, so I was afraid he would get hit by a car and kill someone. So I got Cactus Jack to guard my goats. Since I only have one goat left, Cactus is pretty much out of work, so he guards Trinket. Trinket doesn't appreciate him much....
Well it is that time. The September 2014 thread is now closed for business. Go to:
