| So many who stayed when it was going to be bad...why? No home or rv is worth your life..... Could have gone so much better i think. Looks devastating for sure. | |

| Wow, that hurricane just won't stop. I can't imagine what I would do with that kind of flooding and all my animals. It does look like things are getting done in an orderly manner, at least from here. And they didn't wait nearly a week before getting people out. Some things have improved....I think.... It has been very cool and fall like here. I worked with Ivan today and he was so lazy. I had to push him to move out. No pain, just lazy. Areion, on the other hand, was like a bomb waiting to go off. Lori rode her, but I didn't. She was either in a mare mood, or was extremely spooky over nothing. Daisy was tied in the corner and slept the entire time. I suspect Areion was hormonal. I saw her try to bite Ivan this morning. Ivan kept his distance from her the rest of the day. Our manure spreader arrived, we got it home and unloaded. That took most of Saturday, but Donnie managed to get Zippy's front feet done. Yesterday, Sunday, he did both Ivan and Areion's feet, and today he finished Zippy. Busy guy... | |

| I think the mayors, governor could have been more consistant in steering people out of the danger, had mayor say stat, mayor say go....and to start evacuayions much sooner, so many didnt leave becuz traffic was at standstill, couldnt get out....just added to chaos and so many being rescued and so many more still needing rescued. Folks are trapped as allugators, sharks are swimming around escape routes. I would just curl up and die
I would have loaded up and gone inland at tropical storm

| I saw a video of a cowboy trying to get an ill-mannered stallion out of a paddock with no halter. He dropped a loop on him from his own horse, got the gate open, and the idiot horse only wanted to attack. That cowboy's horse was a real hero. Completely unflappable. Just did his job of trying to lead that horse to high ground, with the horse going all around and pulling, with the possibility of pulling the cowboy and his horse over into more than belly deep water. I hope the owner sees that video and first thanks the cowboy for saving the horse, and then realizes he or she had better get serious about teaching some manners.
I also saw a fawn in a boat. It was curled up and shivering on the floor of the boat with a blanket over it. It got rescued too.

| ELLEN: I saw that stallion rescue. Wow. Brave cowboy and his horse. Did you see the hawk that got into some guy's taxi during the storm and didn't want to leave? The guy ended up taking it to a wildlife rescue who said it needed rehabilitation from some injury. Smart bird to get in that taxi with that guy. I hate to think of all the wild animals and pets and livestock who won't make it. The fireants seem to be able to survive. CB: I heard from DAWN today. She is moving into her new place in NC in Sept. It was nice hearing from her. Nice day here today. If we don't get much rain from Harvey, I may get to take Ivan for a walking ride at Pandapas Pond on Sunday. It doesn't look like we are going to get a lot of rain, just some during Friday and Saturday. | |

| It would seem that summer is over. Today will only get to about 65°.
I hope Dawn can get moved to a better situation where she can take care of herself.

| ELLEN: It is cool and rainy here today,61 degrees right now. We are getting the edges of Harvey's remnants. It's like a fall day, not much wind or anything. Not bad, just cool. Horses are toasty in the barn, the dog and I are fairly wet from being out in it. It's time to change the calendar, August sure flew by fast.
