Tried to post as the change was made, it blocked it and disappeared, a really long post too....
The gist, i want an air fryer as i love deep fried foods,i git instant pot from jessi and joey, havnt tried it yet tho.

Watched ball drop in nyc, snuggled down utilizing every blanket we had on board, freezing rain, our camper is encrusted in ice, with wind chill, 8 degrees. We put bkankets on the horses yesterday, the wind was brutal.

Trudy, do you know anyone who can board 2 geldings in june for a few weeks. If our plans fly this year, we will finally make it to PA.

Happy new year!

CB, if you can go online and watch some of the videos about the Instant Pot, there is a lot of good information about them, and some great recipes.
Last evening, my neighbor commented on how good it would be to use it in the summer to get a good meal without heating up the kitchen. There are so many one-pot meals, with only one pot to clean up.

Happy New Year everyone! I forgot to tell you, yesterday at our brunch I
started singing Auld Lang Syne (sp?). Then the whole restaurant joined in our table. So, "I'll take a cup of kindness" any time. It was fun..........lousy singing, but fun.

You will like your Instant Pot, CB............meals in minutes..........MMMMMMM.

CB:  I can give you Dave's number, he lives about a mile from my house.  I used to board there many years ago. He has a big indoor and a lot of pasture.  I would take them myself but we tore all the pasture fence down and the stalls are full of men stuff.  I no longer have a barn it's a men storage building.  Dave's number is 570-428-4049  If that doesn't work out, I can run over to Glen Iron and find out who is running that barn now plus I have a couple other friends who still have horses that I can ask for you.

GRAYMARE:  We just had a Kindness sermon at church.  "And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly."  Romans 12:86  Kindness is a wonderful thing, it can change lives around us.

Today the guys show up to start on the walk in shower & patio roof.  On one hand I can't wait on the other I am not looking forward to the giant mess it is going to cause.

Taking down the tree today.  Bye bye lovely Christmas tree., see ya next December.  It a sad day in PA.

8 degrees this morning.  BBRRRRRRRRRRRRR  Going up to 25 tomorrow.  Heat wave....

13° BELOW this morning. Wind chill is still 18° below. The actual temperature is now -8°, but will zip right up to 7° above. IT'S COLD! The sun is shining and it's beautiful out there, but I don't want to go out to get a tan.
The internet service was out for several hours this morning. I always feel so sorry for, and am so grateful to the service guys who have to go out and work in this kind of cold.

PostSubject: South Carolina is still in the South???   January 2018 EmptyTue Jan 02, 2018 8:45 pm

We have now been 4 consecutive days in freezing and below temps!  Now freezing rain, sleet and snow, winter storm warning for tomorrow!  ARK, batten down the hatches, it's heading your way!  This is not the way the deep South is supposed to be shrug  Lori's appendix QH, Tricks, has been blanketed for the 3d day.  He was shivering in the barn when she put his blanket on.  My wooly bear cowpony, Jack, has adapted very well.  They have a round bale and hay feeders filled in the barn.  Heater in water trough.  My dogs are staying in at night and when outside in the day, straw filled igloo dog house.  Supposed to get to 50 degrees Monday, I cannot wait! ClappingHands

Although we are all in the deep freeze, I pray everyone is getting a wonderful start to the New Year!  Hugs all around.  Stay warm and safe!

Ark, you got it, poor lil guy. Keep us updated.

Rose, i cant wait til it warms up here in texas, wow its been downright bitter cold. For a week now....yestetday our camper was encrusted in ice from freezing mist, drizzle. Im ready for sunshine. Water at the stable is frozen up at well house...so been hauling out 20 gallons every day. Put blankets on my geldings cuz of the wind.

My toes get cold even under the blankets!

Trudy, tried to call dave, but no answer, no message set up. Will try again, ty.

Thanks..
Zippy is staying overnight at the vet hospital. They don’t have a definitive reason for his colic signs or higher temperature. They are keeping him comfortable tonight, but truthfully, it doesn’t look hopeful. It’s nearly midnight. We will know more tomorrow.

Sigh......

ARK:  Praying for little Zippy, you and Donnie also.

CB:  Here is Dave's home number.  570-742-3895.  Or you can try Christine 570-437-9068, she lives about a mile away form my place too.  She also has an indoor arena.

Heat wave today.  20 degrees.  The contractors are coming today to work on the walk in shower.  It is going to be so nice not to have to climb over that old tub to take a shower.

Took my tree down yesterday.  Everything is so blahhhhh without the Christmas colors.

We just got back from visiting Zippy at the Va Tech Veterinary Hospital. Last night his prognosis wasn't good, it was thought that he might have a tear in his diaphragm that his intestines were invading into near his heart. That was basically a death sentence, but they kept him overnight and re-did the x-rays and ultrasounds with a radiologist and it was decided Zippy didn't have a tear after all!!! Mini-horses are built closer together inside, apparently. The blood tests and other tests seem to indicate he has inflammation in his small intestine that some I.V. fluids and gentle care for a few days may fix. So that is what Zippy will be doing for the next few days while the weather gets brutally cold here, staying indoors in a heated environment with nursing care 24 hours a day. He isn't totally out of the woods, but his prognosis has changed to a more positive outcome. The first photo was last night as they were doing an ultrasound, the second photo is of Donnie visiting Zippy on the I.V. in his 'room'. Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers, it seems to be helping a lot!!! Maybe Zippy will be with us for a few more years....I hope.

PostSubject: Still Pouring Snow...........   January 2018 EmptyWed Jan 03, 2018 7:16 pm

Cannot believe the snow is still coming down heavy! Horses, dogs, all furry friends are warm and secure. The heaviest snow is supposed to be between 6 and 8 pm, it's only 5 now. As long as power stays up I'm good! Got feed for animals, me, and any neighbors who need help!

ARK, I am absolutely delighted that Zippy is improved! Prayers for the Super Pony will continue! Ya'll are scheduled to get this storm too aren't you? Stay safe, warm and off the roads as much as possible!

The snow is beautiful (from inside my nice, warm little house)LOL!

My system rejects these frigid temps. 5 days of freezing temps is a bit much.

ROSE:
I am not sure if this is the same photo with fruit or not Laughing .   Ooops, I just saw them together, it isn't the same photo. Snow in SC and not here. Wow.

So far we don't have any snow,  our weather man said this morning it would go east of us, but this afternoon they are predicting 2-4 inches of snow with 23mph winds.  Sheesh.  I guess we shall see.  We are supposed to get a polar chill for the next few days.  I am glad Zippy is in the hospital where he will stay warm.  I have a blanket to take there for him to wear since he has so many shaved areas.  He is still not eating or drinking, so is not out of the woods quite yet.  But I have much greater hopes.

Here in northern Indiana, we have 4 to 6 inches. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is slightly not as cold today, 21° on my deck.
Just got back from a quick grocery trip. Driving was no problem.

I'm hoping to hear some good news about Zippy.

Beech, what's going on in Maine? 10 feet of snow?

CB, I thought you left Idaho to get away from frozen water buckets. It would be a lot of work to have to undo and unhook everything to get water to the horses, and then hook it all back up.
