A few weeks ago, 9 year old third grade Alex was swapping e-mails with me. It was funny to read what he had to say. He was busily inventing a harvester for a small garden. We talked about how to use radio control car servos to make the mechanics work. It was a riot.

Jillian brought TWO stories to share with us. I got side tracked and didn't get the 2nd story posted until now.

BO AND THE CASE OF PREDATORS AND TO MANY BALLOONS

Once upon a time on a fine summer afternoon a little bunny came bounding up a dirt road. The bunny had blue eyes and a pink nose and a bushy white tail. There was nothing wrong with him except for one thing, he had way to many balloons. Then about 3 meters behind the bunny came Fox. The fox had sharp pointed teeth that looked perfect for popping balloons and biting through a bunny’s bones. The fox’s eyes were a really dark green color. The fox saw the bunny’s balloons and said “may I please have one of your balloons.” Now that fox was a sly fox and when the buny opened his hand the fox took every last one of those balloons and popped every single balloon with his sharp pointed fox teeth. That was just mean and it break the bunny’s heart. The bunny said “why did you do that those balloons costed 50 dollars each”. Now the bunny was so angry that he kicked the fox as hard as he could and took off running down the alley to his house as fast as his little legs could carry him.

I went out for dinner this evening and felt somewhat goofy walking around with one lens missing in my glasses, LOL. I would wear a pirate eyepatch, but the doctor said not to because it would put pressure on the eye and possibly damage it. At least both pupils are the same size now. I looked kind of deranged for a couple of days. I wear safety goggles down at the barn. Like every new hat I wear down there, Ivan checked me out thoroughly. He never believes it is me.

Tomorrow Ivan gets a lesson, but I don't. I don't want to risk my eyesight for a ride.

Good news. My neighbor is home from the hospital and doing well. Other than a continuing antibiotic to prevent any lung infection from taking in the lake water, he's back to normal.

We had a gorgeous day here today. It has been cloudy and rainy so long, I nearly forgot what a sunny day looked like. Ivan didn't get his lesson today after all. We decided to skip a week since I need to be careful about my sight.

I am astounded at what I can see with my left eye! Everything is so clear and sharp! I look forward to having a matching set next week...

well, Kent is in the hospital only this time it is for a broken hip, he fell hard on the floor about 2 weeks ago he thought he had just bruised it but yesterday he was in the kitchen and turned he herd something crack and since then has been unable to walk so last night he finaly had enough pain and we went in, the x-ray shows his right side is fractured and they want to do surgery not sure when they just transfered him to another hospital in Orlando that specializes in orthapedics, so I am at home waiting to hear from him as to when they are doing the surgery, I did not follow him to the other hospital as it will be a wait and see game so he sent me home till he finds out something, I will up date you when I know something more the right side is the side that is weakend from his stroke last year,

Sunny, I'm so sorry to hear about Kent. I hope they can get him fixed up quickly.

Ark ... I just knew you were going to love your new eyes!!! Pretty amazing what a dramatic change it is and how easy it is.

Nice day here today so will go out and see my poor neglected Ice. Our weather is still really odd, but today is good, so off I will go. So glad to be feeling better. Not perfect yet, but a bunch better.

I am still in the dark about Kent, they already have him prepped for surgery and will be taken at any time to the pre-op area Kent does not know if he will be able to call me to let me know something, I am going to the hospital later today and stay untill I can see him, all I know is that he fractured his femerol head on the right side, don't know what they are going to do to repair it, but they told him that he will be out in 2 days I will let you know when I find out what is going on.

Prayers for Kent today, SUNNY...........keep us posted.

Cold and windy here today .... high of 50 .... fishing opener today .... lots of lakes are still iced over so a disappointment for a lot of folks, not to mention those who make their living from the fishing industry. Crazy weather.

This past week has been amazing, a true eye opener! I can't believe how well I can see with my left eye and am so looking forward to a matched set. It has been a bit weird walking around in public with only one lens in my glasses, though. I've felt like a spectacle....;-)

I love the sweaters on those ponies! I am not sure ponies need such things, mine are too hairy for words in the winter, but I loved the looks of them!! LOL
They remind me of when I used to put sweatshirts on my freshly shorn Angora goats when the weather got cold in the spring. Now there is nothing more grateful for a sweatshirt than a chilly nanny!

We're waiting to hear that your second eye is doing well, Ark.

SUNNY, sorry to hear about Kent. My Uncle who fell and broke his hip (twice)is now at home and doing well. Hopefully Kent will get better just as quickly.

ARK, I hope that since we have not heard anything on your second eye surgery that no news is good news.

Unfortunately I threw my back out last Friday and haven't been of much use since then. Everyone asks if I got tossed from one of the horses. Nope. Did it picking up my grand-neice while I was babysitting. pffttt.

Well, its hot, and I need to come up with something for dinner that won't heat up the house....we are breaking down and getting a small ac unit tomorrow....too dang hot for me!

I'm getting a bit concerned about Ark since we haven't heard from her since Sunday. Sure hope she shows up SOON!

CB, my neighbor is doing okay. He and his wife and the rest of the neighbors got together for pizza at the hotel last evening. I gave him a T-shirt on which I had embroidered "Water Boy" surrounded by some water splashing. Everybody got a kick out of it. Since he has chronic lung problems, there is only so much improving that he is going to do, but the possible water-born infection has been avoided.
