RICK Do you know the old joke: Preacher to congregation: "You people need to think more about the hereafter!"
Old timer in congregation: "What are you talking about, preacher? I'm always walking into a room and asking what am I here after!"

We finally had a nice sunny day into the 50s. Little Miss Scarlett and her daddy were out on the 4 wheeler. Both were smiling.

RICK:
I could have gone all day without seeing that photo!  affraid

BEECH:
You are very kind. I feel like I am the absolutely slowest learning rider/trainer on the planet and would LOVE for you to live next door to cheer me on! Come on down! I am sorry that your health isn't letting you ride anymore. You must miss it.

It rained all day Saturday, then Sunday we woke up to a new half inch of snow. Will it ever end? The snow wouldn't have stopped us from going on our trail ride, but the 60 mph wind gusts certainly did. We are going to try to go on Wednesday to the New River Trail for our lesson. It is supposed to be sunny and 75 degrees then.  cheers

We found some hay today! We looked all weekend for some. The pickings are getting slim, but we found 150 bales of pretty nice stuff. No johnsongrass anyway.....It will arrive this week. The horses seem happy with the sample bales we brought home. This should do us until Donnie can cut our hay....IF the weather ever cooperates! Our pastures are starting to green up, but our spring is late this year. I just saw the first daffodils starting to bloom this weekend.

This evening we dashed off to see "Noah" at the theatre. Got there on the dot of 7 pm and found out that they started it at 6 p.m. because it is a little long.  Rolling Eyes  No movie for us!

We have had to spend a ton of money to re-roof our house. Work scheduled for tomorrow (3/31/14) but the roofing crew called last week and wanted to do it today. 8 guys here when I got up at 830 and were waiting on "go ahead" because of weather. Finally got started around 945/1000 and stripped old roof...made some plywood repairs....and new shingles down on house and half of garage today. Would have had the rest done if weather ad not been so iffy. Till be back tomorrow and have job completed in short order. This was 40 "squares" of shingles. Obviously NO NAPPING today with all the noise going on. Hopefully this will be the last roof we'll ever have to put on this house.

Love to all,

Rick...really wanting some warm weather!!

Rick, it always amazes me how fast a whole new roof can be installed when the crew really wants to work. It's a nice secure feeling to know that the roof won't leak and that you don't have to worry about it.

Ark, I wondered if you rode yesterday. I was watching the NASCAR race at Martinsville, and they were talking about how windy and cold it was.

Over on some acreage near us they are building 2 custom homes….that has amazed me………..
these are big monster homes on acreage that is up the way………The machinery and rapid coordination has fascinated me.  I went over to one of them one day and cruised through…….
the guys are going to bring me some dirt in a week or two so I'm happy.  Fortunately RICK, you only have to miss one more nap………and then you will rest free of worry of leaks etc…………the cost of everything today is becoming out of site.  A loaf of bread is CRAZY!  Milk is becoming CRAZY.
A gallon of grass is CRAZY.

And, movies, too…………..you made me laugh, ARK…………you have officially joined the over the hill
time telling club…………Did you just pretend you were going out for dinner instead?

LOL, here, it's barn time now……..we have barn time, horse time, breakfast time, laundry time, etc………………..no need for a clock.  Daylight or dark works for us.  If it's daylight we're busy, if it's dark we're asleep.

Everyone have a good day………..

As a gallon of grass goes through a horse, it becomes a gallon of gas.  Laughing

ELLEN:
 hysterical  That was funny!

GRAYMARE:
Since I am buying hay right now, it seems a gallon of grass costs about the same as a gallon of gas!
I think I have become 'time challenged'. I remember the appointment, but get there too early or too late.  Rolling Eyes

Areion got her teeth floated this afternoon. She was such a good girl. She had sores inside her mouth from pointy teeth, which may be why she resists the bit on occasion on one side. Hopefully that will fix the problem. She is only 5, next week, so no one expected her to have sharp points. She never complained about the entire experience, even though she wasn't quite completely knocked out. She can be such a sweetie sometimes.

Ivan let the new vet student take his temp without freaking. It is all in the approach....

I saw that gallon of grass, but to be honest I understood it! LOL...

Hey y'all, I heard from David (santa santa ) and Sam today...they aren't doing so hot, he said he doesnt' want to post and cry in his beer, and I told him we wuv them and it was alright if he posted and cried in his beer, we have all been there needing some extra hugs and support, hug  so I hope he does post. Maybe if we all sent some cards or emails to them may help. Tough times for them ahead with medical issues. We all know tough times, but it makes my tough ones sound pretty small.

Am having puter problems...so ifn I disappear into the dark land, I will try to get back somehow....was looking at cell phones and tablets today, but its a lot of greek to me! I would like to change servers/cell company as Verizon doesn't do so good out here in the boonies...but they seem to have what I am looking for so far....but am still looking.

Had to get blood drawn today but the lab rats couldn't get me again  No  Rolling Eyes ...sigh....one of those days...and then we tried to get our AC working again in our Chevy one ton truck, but they have to put in a modern unit now and it runs to a 1000 dollars .....I love my old pickups but they do have their problems. We are thinking of putting the camper (11 foot) onto the Dodge which is a 3/4 ton with heavy duty springs, and the air works in it. Its a 98 so it wouldn't be a problem to get it recharged with the new stuff as 96 and newer has the new stuff. Older than that is a hit and mix and costly procedure! ouch! No

We were 4 degrees from setting a record high today...phew...93 degrees....we really need rain here and a bit cooler temps would be totally nice. I like the 70's but I can keep on dreaming...ahhh well, I do not like the brutal cold and snow either, so I guess I"ll take the heat and like it! cheers  sunny
