| Travel safely TRUDY & CB………….. Nothing to say on military health care………our Congress, seriously, is beyond shameful. They sit around flapping their lips, on welfare for life, and will straighten this right out…………… REALLY? I've been looking at new refrigerators lately and bought one yesterday…..I best get going getting ready for it's delivery in a bit. It's the style that has double doors up and freezer drawer on the bottom and an ice maker. Simple but very utilitarian. We get a fridge every 18 yrs or so. This one might be the last………….LOL See you guys later……..everyone have a super day. God bless. Prayers for ALL. | |

| Much better to replace a refrigerator BEFORE it dies completely, taking ALL the food inside with it. I'm hoping to not have to worry about that for a few more years. I have the side-by-side and have mixed feelings about it. It's easy to see everything that is in the freezer, but it does make the refrigerator part more narrow.
One of my favorite things is to find a restaurant that has really good fried onion strings. I have now discovered another way to sabotage any feeble attempt at weight loss. I can now make really good onion strings, and it's easy. YUM!!!

| We had a power outage a couple of years ago when that derecho went thru. THAT was when we went out and bought our first ever new fridge. We had had our old one forever. I have no idea what inspired us at that moment....other than the one we had was dying a slow death and the lack of power showed us what was coming soon anyway. We got one with the freezer on the bottom, but no ice maker. They delivered it a couple of hours before our power came back on. We tend to keep appliances until they are totally worn out, falling apart, and an embarrassment to all. Beautiful day here today, low humidity and bright sunshine. Perfect day! Not quite 80 degrees. I don't know what we did to deserve it... I got in a quick ride on Ivan this evening. We spent much of the day goofing off. We did go to Tractor Supply where they happened to be having an animal sale in the parking lot. We bought three young Rhode Island red hens.....at least I hope they are hens... | |

| The drive to the VA Hospital was easy, hardly any traffic. There was no one at the hospital so parking wasn't a problem for a change, then we were the ONLY people in the C & P waiting room. The 9:00 appointment canceled so George went right in at 9:20. The doctor apologized for making us drive up there on a Saturday & GET THIS...She actually had ALL George's records..every single one. AMAZING..he has 2 large folders. She didn't even examine him, just went over the paper work from when he had his heart attack and told him it was brought on by agent orange as far as she was concerned and that is what she is turning in. Showed him all the hospital records that they keep insisting they DON'T have and keep asking us for. Told him that YES he did have a heart attack, he has kept on saying he never had a heart attack, just a heart catheterization MEN.. The shake up at the VA has really awakened someone. We are still in total shock.
Funny story about the garden. We gave Barb 3 Brussels Sprout plants for her garden at home. Yesterday we discovered that we have 6 Brusselss Sprout plants in our garden not 3 like we thought. Looks like we gave her 3 cabbage plans instead of the BS. LOL LOL What gardeners the 3 of us are. Can't tell the difference between BS and cabbage plants. Oh well, she can still have as many BS's as she wants.
ELLEN: We have a side by side and I HATE it. We also have one with a freezer on the top, the next fridge we get is going to be freezer on the bottom. That just sounds like a better choice.
Love & prayers for all...

| HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
Ours was happy yesterday. We called it our generic mother/father's day as our fridge arrived around 11A………We've had it almost 24 hrs and we LOVE it. LOL I guess at our age a fridge is a big deal. When plugged in, it takes about 6 hrs to totally cool down so we still have 2 fridges in the kitchen. LOL. SIL will come over in a couple of hrs to get the old one to the porch to put soda and extras in until it plum dies.
We had decided we couldn't afford to have the old fridge die while we were in the mtns so bit the dust and bought one. Anyhow, it seems so big with the double door top, fancy veg drawers and a deli drawer. I laughed. A deli drawer. I'm a chef with a deli drawer and humidity controlled veggie/fruit drawer. Far cry from our old "ice box" in 1945…………………..I even remember Johnny the iceman as I could have some ice chips to eat. We assume we're set for another 20 yrs……..
TRUDY, so glad they finally found George's records and hopefully he's getting the care he needs and deserves……………..
Everyone have a good day.

| Graymare, you REALLY don't want to have the frig die while you are gone. Did you see the episode of Duck Dynasty when the freezer died - full of meat? Sure was funny but I don't want it to happen to me - or any of my friends. | |

| Ark, I think she's a very interesting person, and a very busy one. She has a cooking show on Food Network every Saturday. While she does have some good recipes, I watch to see what is going to happen on the ranch. I love seeing her four, strong, healthy kids who are all good riders and "cow punchers". In today's post, I thought it was funny to read about the horses eating her sunflowers today. | |

| I am about to tell you something that probably everybody but me knew about. Yesterday I let the oven do its self-cleaning thing, but took the racks out like the manual said to do. So, now the question is how to clean the racks. They weren't awful, but I wanted them to shine. After looking at several websites, I ran some hot water into the bathtub and sprinkled in a liberal amount of powdered Oxyclean, then let them soak for about 5 hours. What crud was on there just wiped right off with very little effort, and left them sparkling clean. Just thought I'd pass that along just in case I'm not alone. | |

| CB, according to what I read, I think it might work for that. I have a couple of grates that I think I'll try. Might not use the bathtub for that, but I have a utility sink that would hold them. Maybe I'll heat the grill and clean them as much as possible with the brush, then when they are cool give them a bath. | |

| Howdy, howdy! Thought I'd drop in and see how everyone is doing. So... how is everyone? We're all fine here. Not much to write about. Life is toodling along as it should. No horses in my life now. I'm going to sell my tack. Just want to put up some pics of my best buddies and hope I'll have the opportunity to ride some push button horse again some time. I've had a great time with my ponies, for a town raised gal, and am grateful for my opportunities to have such equine friends.
How about everyone else? Life is good?

| Hi NANCY......YAY, you're doing well!!! Same here, life is good. TL & I are fine. We have another colt (not sure if it's smart or stupid) but we're loving it AND a new fridge. WOO HOO. We still have a bunch of great and looney friends so we're very blessed. Most days are just chores, a few meetings, church, meeting friends, and volunteering etc...............seems we're busy all the time.
Sure is great hearing from you. You're still my rock star!!!

| NANCY LEE: Hiya!! It's great to 'see' you! How are your singing activities going? Are you managing the park this year? Donnie and I are doing well....still too many projects and a lack of time, nothing much different. The best thing right now is how well Areion is doing in her new career as a riding horse, she is doing great! And Ivan has become a responsible guy for her during trail rides. They both make me happy!
ELLEN That is a great tip! And I just learned that I was supposed to remove the oven racks before turning on the self-cleaning.......oooops.....
CB I spray the BBQ rack with Pam spray before grilling and it cleans up very easy afterward. Glad you are home safely!
RICK Our beautiful, low humidity, mid-70s days are gone. We had the best weekend. It was 90 here yesterday and will be the rest of the week with lots of humidity. This must be your fault! You are getting even for me letting the cold go south last winter, aren't you!!

| Hi again GRAYMARE, is that your new colt in the pic? He is very cute! Has he markings? You're a special kind of crazy... LOL .. a good kind! Having foals is something that brings you great pleasure, and the recipients of your great breeding and training are very fortunate.
Sounds like your life is going along its very merry way with friends and such. Good to hear Say hi to TL for me!
ARK, I have been so impressed with the bit of info I've seen on Facebook. You have done great work with your horses too, and it's so nice to know you are enjoying them, out on the trails and even competing! Warms my heart. Please say hi to Donnie.
RICK, hi! How ya doing?
ELLEN, I've been thinking about you getting out on the lake.
Been outside pruning our crabapple tree. I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Just lopping off things that don't look like they belong... straggly little suckers, and such. Makes me feel like a real gardener. Ha!
The pansies are great this year, and the peony bush that only had about 3 buds last year is loaded. Must be at least 30 coming along. The first should open tomorrow or the next day. Yay!
Well, that is all for now. Jim tells me that So You Think You Can Dance has been recording for over an hour, so I guess we're beyond needing to watch commercials now. Time to join him downstairs.

| Rick, come to my house and you won't have to dig the ice cream out of the axle. Whenever there is any kind of gathering, I get to take the easy way out and bring the homemade ice cream. | |

| We just got back from the Summer Solstice Festival in Blacksburg. Annie ran in a 5k race at dark. It was fun to see all the flashing, reflective, glow in the dark people running! Annie had fun running. Donnie and I had fun eating brownies while we waited on her! | |
