| INDYAPP I am happy to hear that Monster is getting better! Putting drops in horse eyes is sure hard. Sounds like you have figured it out. BTW, how is Tiberious doing? CB My first trailer was a step up and Arkady hated it. She had backed out of it once and slipped one leg under the trailer. She scraped herself up and scared herself. She wouldn't back out again. I had to let her turn around to get out. So I sold it and bought our Brenderup with its ramp and she easily backed out. I guess everyone has reasons for their preferences... ELLEN The Hawk trailer has a wood ramp covered in aluminum on the outside and is painted with some kind of black coating on the side the horse steps on. It is slick when it gets wet. I just sent off for some stair tread material that is very abrasive. The horses shouldn't slip on it. I hope. Areion is healing up. It only bothers her when we are trying to medicate it, but she puts up with it pretty well. I spent the afternoon celebrating my friend, M's, birthday. She had a hip replacement two days ago and will be in the hospital for a few weeks. She was quite cheerful and seems to be doing well. | |

| Got Harper her first horsey, 35 inch chocolate palomino pinto? That's what it says.....but when we went to look there was a grand daddy of all thunder lightning storms that made me jump and scream and she never flinched...she is use to other horses and big dogs, rides and drives, very tolerant and sweet. Rain and more rain here...lower temps tho.
We r at a power company meeting and they have lots of doorprizes... Have someone coming to look at the house today....keeping fingers crossed... Have a good weekend.

| Awwww. Can't wait to see pictures of Harper with her new pony. That will be so much fun. Ark, your friend should be feeling a lot better in a month or so. It's rainy again this morning. Cousins are in town for the Antique Outboard Motor Show. I'll go into town to see them in a little while when the rain stops. Standing around in a park in the rain isn't exactly my idea of a good time. The rain should stop in an hour or so. Indy, is Monster continuing to improve? | |

| Hi All,
Monster continues to improve. Dr. B was out yesterday and was very pleased with his progress. We are on a whole new treatment regime. While there aren't as many treatments per day, they take longer to administer. Monster continues to keep his feet planted (and for that I am very thankful) while tossing his head. The moving target is still as difficult to hit as ever. Sapp use to work with an animal communicator and I'm half way tempted to try and see if she could tell Monster to let me flush his eye with the meds so the treatments would go quicker and not be as stressful.
CB, congrats on the new pony. I think we called that combination of color Butterscotch.

| CB Fingers crossed about the house! Congrats on the pony! When Harley outgrows it, you can drive it. That is so much fun. INDYAPP: I am glad to hear Monster is improving more. If you use the animal communicator, tell us what happens! That would be very interesting. I had a friend who was kind of into that and told me some very interesting things about our old palomino gelding, Shiloh. ELLEN: Our weather was great today. Just the right temps, sunny and not windy. I took Ivan to Pandapas Pond to ride with four other folks, two of the horses were new to Ivan. He was a model citizen during the ride after getting over his initial desire to out trot them all. I parked him behind Lori's horse and he calmed down after that. We led the way for at least half the ride at mostly a walk. Not bad considering Ivan would rather go at the speed of light whenever possible. It was a nice ride. Here is a photo of the end of the ride: Tomorrow is Ivan's 12th birthday. It is also the 12th anniversary since Hurricane Ivan blew thru Virginia, when Ivan was born. I am going to post this photo of him tomorrow on FaceBook, you guys get to see it first! | |

| Summer is over. The jet skis were pulled out this afternoon. Always hate to see them go for the winter. But, Travis always has a lot to do to get all the boats and docks taken care of before cold weather and cold water. So, we pulled them out this afternoon. We'll pull his speedboat in the next week or so, whenever he has time. The pontoon will stay a little longer because they use it on nice days later in the fall. The docks and boat lifts will be the last to go.

| On our way home towing said camp er 2 bunks, dinette, couch, kitchen, bedroom. 2005 30 feet. Much more room than our 11 foot truck camper, maybe just maybe we won't kill each other!
My doggies will have missed me. They have choice of house or back yard with the doggy door. Thankfully yoshi is not chewing on everything anymore, like walls, floors..lol.

| Hello everyone. Another extra busy few days have flown by. This retirement is wearing me out. I need to go back to work at the PO so I could get some rest. LOL
Saturday was the Milton Harvest parade. Always a nice parade for such a little town. Here's a funny story George bought his new truck so we thought we would get her ready for the parade early. Guess what? She's all aluminum and none of our Purple Heart signs will stick to her. YIKES...Good thing we started early. Had to get the Explorer ready instead. Barry's truck broke down so he had to use their SUV also. LOL Sometimes we are comedy of errors.
ARK: When we hauled horses and had a ramp and mats in the trailer we spread sawdust or woodchips on the ramp and mats. A little clean up afterward but we had a horse go down in the trailer on the bare mats. No traction for them. Give that a try. Hope Areion's leg is healing. That Paint horse next to you in the photo looks exactly like my favorite horse Maxx. I miss him.
INDYAPP: Gosh eye stuff is the worst to work with. Praying Monsters eye will heal.
CB: Congrats on the pony and new camper.
ELLEN: Summer is over here too, pumpkins are everywhere and fall is in the air, although it has still been pretty warm for September. No whining too much, saving on heating oil. The trees are losing their leaves early and turning early from lack of rain.
Off to the VA Clinic this morning so have a great rest of the week everyone.

| Not a very exciting day here. Rode the lawn tractor a few hundred feet to the marina gas pump, instead of carrying a heavy gas can down the hill. Stayed with the girls for a couple of hours. It was hot today, for a September day. That's about it. Nothing exciting, but a good day. | |

| GRAYMARE Faith is such a pretty mare. I am sure the little girl will have lots of fun with her. Will she live very far from you? CB Congrats on the new trailer! Sounds very nice! Any news on house buyers? ELLEN I can't believe it is fall already. I think summer should be extended and winter considerably shortened. It has been very nice here lately, it can stay this way until Thanksgiving. TRUDY We have had a little rain, so it is still fairly green here. The grass has slowed down, I haven't mowed in about 10 days. We did put shavings in the trailer, but not on the ramp when Areion fell. Donnie installed stair tread anti-slip pads on the ramp to give some texture. Areion hasn't been back on it, but we hauled Ivan to a trail ride last weekend and he didn't have a problem. We are going to put some rubber strips across the ramp to also give something to grip to. The paint horse who looks like your Maxx is my trainer's mustang, Tonto. He was caught out west when he was a year or two old and was part of trick trainer, Tommy Turvey' s horses when Lori worked for him. Lori trained him. He is 12 years old and does about anything for Lori. Ivan likes him. Tonto tolerates Ivan, . I rode both Ivan and Areion on Monday. Both were good. It still hurts my hip joint to ride Areion after I have ridden Ivan. Next time I may ride her first and see if it changes anything. | |

| GM are you keeping the young ones? I thought Faith was perfect. Hope the gal enjoys her.
I'm going to try riding daisy mae some, before we head to tx, if I don't feel good about it,.I have a buyer for her. So now I really need to get my head screwed on tight and make up my mind....pf#ft.
Nice here today....I like fall.

| Faith will be a perfect teacher for cutting & working cattle & trail. Her dad runs cattle and Faith can really teach his daughter the moves without getting hot and buzzed up........a really good calm worker. The girl is a good rider already and they couldn't find such out there that fit the bill.
Faith was pastured with his broodmares for the summer she was in foal with Eli. He actually came to look at Eli but wanted "the oven"..............
Yes, I'll keep the boys until I can't manage horses......we'll see what life brings. I don't want to be stuck at age 80 wondering what to do.
And I like having time to "pick" an owner rather than being forced into decisions. Sev looked at Faith over the year......if it wasn't right I told them..............she & the little girl clicked like magic.........you cold see it in both. I will hear more as time goes on.
It's really hard to decide what to do as our time winds down. I just want the best for my horses.

| I think a lot about what I would do if I could no longer keep my horses. I hope to outlive them, but Areion is only 7. When she is 30, I will be 85 years old. One can hope to still be active and healthy, but not many in my family live that long. It could be a big problem. I don't want them to go to an auction, I would rather put them down if that was the choice. My cat, Kumquat, has dibs on my house.... Today we put dressage letters up in the arena. Now I just have to learn to ride. Lori wants me to ride Areion in an entry level dressage test in November. Uh-huh..... | |

| I think if I couldn't find a home I liked, I would try a rescue. We all dB o the best we can vuz we care. The trainer that rode.daisy would like to buy her, he liked her alot.....but I'm still wavering....I feel like a Lil tree being blown different directions.... Hubby got his oars, anchor, life vests for the boat and a small trolling motor. He's all set now. He is doing some.remodeling work and fixing on both campers. We have put the spaceship camper up for sale, had a look see on house yesterday..... We went to a new tack store and the facade on outside was fancy and looked huge, went inside and is only 30 feet wide and about 90 feet long, over half clothes, very little tack....made us both say *what*. The fake wall on outside that made it looked bigger was a roofed she'd with feed storage. Disappointed, but we did find a girth and western bridle for naynay. She came with an English bridle
Ark, wish we could watch your dressage show, good luck and have fun.
Beech, did you know they make a 3 wheeled ruckus....we really liked it. I like the idea of having more stability.
