| Yes, Rose a ridgeling is a cryptorchid stud.............I know they all are not good breeders.........if breeders at all. I'm sure testosterone levels must be checked and sperm counts......so, if it's true re Pharaoh, only time will tell what happens.
Love the fall photo......."on Golden Pond" which was a great movie. Looks just like Maine.
ROSE, we are all so excited about Essie. What a neat thing after all these years.

| Happy September everyone. August certainly has flown by and here we are heading into my favorite season FALL. Life has been so busy here in PA, I have hardly had a chance to catch my breath. The garden is about finished (thank God) most of the veggies have been canned or frozen and we will be starting on making applesauce and picking the Brussel Sprouts.
George & I went to Walmart to buy a toilet seat and came home with a new to us, used Ford Explorer, my favorite color RED. My nutty husband gets a bug in his butt and we go "looking" at vehicles and usually bring something home. This is our last one, just like the F150 was the last one. LOL
I try to read everyday and hopefully will try to post more often now that the garden and family stuff has sort of settled down. I'm off to the dentist (yes again) next week. Broke my crown in half and am getting the temp off and a new crown on. AUUGHHHHH
RICK: So sorry to hear about phony pony, we all know what a heart breaking experience that is.
ROSE: Nice to see you back, good luck with Essie. That was my mom's name and she could be a handful.
ARK: Loved that cartoon, I stole it and am sending it to my horsie friends.
Love & prayers for all. | |

| TRUDY, Hopefully my Essie doesn't become too much of a handful! I'm absolutely sure that since she is a horse, she will display antics sometimes, probably none I haven't dealt with before though. It is absolutely amazing to me, that starting over with a horse, after many years, requires so many items I no longer have or those that are so old and must be replaced. Got my first Jeffers shipment today and I realize I don't have any Leather Therapy Wash or Conditioner. Geez! Anyone have ideas about cleaning a synthetic saddle? The smell is pretty bad also but I may have something for that, OdoBan! Least I hope that works. Wondering if just a gentle soapy water wiped lightly on the saddle and gently brushed, then wiped with a towel and left to dry completely in the sun, if that would clean up the saddle pretty well? It is a very well made saddle and other then dirty and smelly is super solid. Still have to find some tough boots for barn and riding...........Yikes! What have I done? Just kidding, I will get it all taken care of, just takes a little time. ELLEN, Darlington race this Sunday, I'll be watching on TV, no more of the 2+ hours commute to get home after the race, when I live 10 minutes away from the track! Possibility of rain also! | |

| Rose, I knew they were going to Darlington this weekend. I plan to be watching. I don't see EVERY race, but I don't miss many of them. I keep hoping that Jeff will win at least one race this year, since it's his last. His kids are old enough to remember if they get to see Daddy win. There is nothing any more fun than going to a tack shop to actually buy things, rather than just going in to smell the leather. You will have a grand time resupplying yourself with horse things. | |

| I surely will Ellen, am thinking about a trip to Charlotte to go to the Dover Saddle store there. I would love for Jeff to win at least 1 race his final season. Would love for Tony to win again too. Junior seems to be doing pretty good finally! I don't see every race anymore, too much going on it seems, but try to watch Bristol, Dega, Darlington, and a couple others, still don't much care for the road races though. So glad to be back with my foop friends! | |

| ROSE, I'm really sorry as my one Paso friend (had like 14) has passed on. She was about 10 yrs older than me and you may remember me mentioning her on rides 15-18 yrs ago. She rode good horses. At that time she was a reputable breeder & showed a lot. That said, I only was around her horses on rides as her barn/ranch wasn't close to where I live. The only diff in her horses was gait, and they were smooth. The one of hers I rode was great as I just took off by myself for the cadillac ride. This was mountain riding and he was good in the rough. He crossed water, climbed, and easy downs. What I do remember was he had trouble (prob wrong word)on really narrow trails as his feet paddled. Didn't phase him, sounded funny to me when he clinked rocks. He was a mover and could walk really fast, a wonderful horse for 4-5 yrs old. I can't remember his age for sure. We even got in rain and he was just fine & happy going along. In those years her horses were very expensive so you got a REAL deal.
That's my experience of one.............

| ROSE Horse stuff shopping, what fun! Are you going to have special colors for Essy? Here we have red for Zippy, blue for Ivan, green for Daisy and Cactus Jack, blue/purple for Kazi, and black for Areion. Trinket gets whatever... I rode a Paso once on our 20th anniversary. It was in Ocala at Young' s Paso Fino Ranch. They had show horses and had little demos for tourists. They said the mare I was on was worth $350,000. It was a smooth ride, but then I guess it had better have been. (Of course my little Arab is worth a million bucks to me! ) The saddle was a Spanish style, very fancy. It was fun. Annie has been happily coloring. We are about to run out of 'Under the Dome' episodes to watch. My riding lesson got postponed until Saturday when it will be cooler. We might try, once again, to take Ivan and Areion to Pandapas Pond for a trail ride. Areion needs to get off the property, she hasn't gone anywhere in over a year. Pandapas Pond is shady with lots of creeks to cross. That is where my avatar photo was taken. | |

| Thank goodness you are home, safe and sound, and good test results! CB, I love you, but don't think my heart would survive being around you all the time! Whew, glad the snake met its demise! Please try to stay away from danger for awhile, but in all sincerity, one would think the bathroom to be a pretty safe place! | |

| CB I am glad you are home safely. Did you dispatch the snake and all his relatives? Finding any kind of snake in my house, much less in the bathroom, and especially a poisonous snake, would give me a quivery heartbeat, too!! Hope you are okay. SUNNY I heard there was a King Cobra loose in Orlando. Time to move! Did they ever find it? We took Ivan and Areion to Pandapas Pond Park today for a trail ride. Lori rode Areion. It was Areion's first time on twisty, rocky, at times narrow trails. She had to watch her feet. She followed Ivan and was happy as a clam. Ivan had to be the brave leader and did a good job. We were going along really well until we got about 4 miles out on a particularly narrow, brushy part of trail. Ivan got his hoof boot stuck in a downed log' s branch. The log moved, Ivan struggled, then spooked....and tossed me on the log. Luckily it was a very rotted log that crushed under me and cushioned my fall. As I was falling, Areion freaked at Ivan freaking, did a fast spin... and dumped Lori. Both horses stood there wondering what happened, and didn't run off. Lori and I have bruised hinies, but are both fine. We got back on and finished our ride with no more problems despite the herds of mountain bikes, hikers with dogs, and a few other horses passing by. Areion got an education. We did 7 to 8 miles, the longest ride Areion has been on. We had a fun ride, despite the unexpected dismount! | |
