ARK … I don't know where all you get the pics you use to decorate this page and web site, but the one above of the red head boy getting "slurped" by the family horse has to be the cutest one ever. NO … BEST EVER!! I chuckle each time I sign in to read. Thank you SOOO MUCH for the work and love you invest in this web site and small group of FOOPS!!

Love to all … Rick

I like that picture too. It's so cute. So is that little black kitten; I'm glad he has a good home.

Today was a nearly perfect weather day. One of my snowbird neighbors and I went to Shipshewana this morning. We hit the bulk food store, the Mercantile, and the Bluegate. We didn't make it to the cheese factory, so we're going again next week to do that.
The cheese factory has large windows so you can watch how the whole process is done. You can buy almost any kind of cheese you can think of.

TRUDY's kitten, Smokey, at his new home.  He looks like a happy kitty!

RICK:
Thanks! I find pix all over and don't remember where I found this one. It is cute! I don't mind keeping up this forum, it isn't that much to do. I like this type of format better than some I have seen. I so wish more of our friends would post now and then. It would be good to hear from them.

Speaking of other forums, SVET has started up an yahoo type forum that has several of the old Horsenet and AMMI folks on it. You have all been invited to it. Here is the link:

We have had a couple of fabulous weather days! Clear blue skies and low humidity, mid-70s. Perfect. I rode Ivan for a few minutes last night, he was good. The lesson of the day was to ignore that open arena gate as we rode past it. He did try to dive out once, but after that didn't pay any attention to it. We also practiced backing out the gate a couple of times. He got better at that each time. It was nice to ride, even for a little while. Very Happy

It's raining, it's pouring. The old man is snoring...….. Again. It rained and drizzled ALL day.
My cousins and I helped Cousin Debbie to celebrate her 65th birthday. We got together at a great little restaurant on a large reservoir. There sure wasn't much boating activity today. The restaurant was not busy at all. There were 21 of us, and we had one large room all to ourselves. The wait staff was great.
Cousins brought some gourmet cupcakes, and another one brought a traditional chocolate cake with carmel icing. That carmel is RICH RICH RICH, but soooo good.
We visited for a couple of hours. I dropped the birthday girl at her house, and came on home. It was a busy day, but a really good one.

Like the rest, I wish more of the old gang would show up here.

No news here. We had guests here yesterday by surprise so had some fun. We ordered pizza to be delivered.
YUM.........

Happy Fathers Day to all dads..........

Debbie isn't going to retire yet, maybe next year. She likes her job and would like to work part time even after she retires. She's in the age group that has to work an extra year or two to get full Social Security.
She has worked in the same vet business for 47 years, since she was 18. She has out lasted 5 or 6 different vets, and knows more about the business that most of the doctors. The practice has been sold from vet to vet several times. For a few years, she did some grooming and people would drive nearly a hundred miles to have her do their dogs. She is meticulous. For the last several years, she's been the receptionist, chief-cook-and-bottle-washer.

I had tried to post this several hours ago, but the maintenance was happening so I had to wait.

I guess I missed the maintenance time. Hopefully they fixed a few things, like the delete button.

We had a nice weekend. We are on a low carb diet and decided that Sunday was cheat day. We went to KFC for lunch! Drool It was the first time in over two weeks that I had a real live, delicious, decadent chocolate chip COOKIE!!! Now I can face the diet again.Very Happy

Spookette isn't doing as well as we thought she would. She is still wheezing, so if the grass seed was the problem, it isn't all gone. Poor little cat has been thru the wringer with this. She is probably on her way out after all if they can't find her problem.

ELLEN:
Congrats to Debbie! That is a long time to work in one place.

I have to call Social Security and get an appointment to have them fix the problems with my identity. Seems they don't know for sure who I am, despite sending me statements every year forever. Donnie can retire in late August when he turns 66, so we are trying to get our ducks in a row.

Our low humidity is over. We had a really nice week of it. It's back to thunderstorms every afternoon for awhile now. Lots of hay got made over the last week, thankfully ours was already done.

No. There weren't any tornadoes near here. Other than being rather gloomy and more rain than we need, we haven't had any really bad weather at all.

Most of the time, I'm not too interested in eating sweet things. HOWEVER, now and then, I just have to have some oatmeal/raisin cookies. So, I make a batch and give away most of it. I tell my neighbors they are helping to save me from myself.

FINALLY! I got to ride the jet ski today. It isn't exactly warm, but at least it isn't raining. Travis put a new device on it that makes it a LOT easier to start. It seems to be the nature of the beasts of that age and model to be hard to start. A primer kit fixed that right up.
Tomorrow will see me out on the big lake giving it some real exercise. Smile

If anybody is interested, NBCsn (sports) will be televising all the Royal Ascot races this week. 8:30 to 1:00 everyday, through Saturday.
I love to watch the procession of carriages bringing the royals to the race. Queen Elizabeth has been at every Ascot for 74 years. They were also saying that she does still ride now and then. She was riding just a few days before her 93rd birthday. She also names all the horses.
There aren't many traditions that have been maintained for as long as this one. 1711 was the first Ascot.

We just had our weekly "Warthog" flyover. The Thunderbolt A-10s are based in Ft. Wayne, about 40 miles from here. Each week in the summer, two of them scream over at very low altitude, just above the tree tops. They are literally over my house. Those things are LOUD, and fun to see - for the 4 seconds they are visible.

It looks like the Queen chose very light lavender for today.

There are several horses that could take up residence in my barn - if I had a barn. I was looking at them as they circled in the area behind the gate before they loaded them. One of them really struck me as outstanding. At least he wasn't last. He came in second in one of the shorter races.
Stradivarius is gorgeous and seems to have some sense. He was boxed in for a long time and I was a little concerned that he wouldn't get enough racing room, but he fixed that and broke through. After the race was over, he was happily walking along on a loose rein while the jockey celebrated.
I won't be able to watch tomorrow, so you'll have to tell me about it.

Good thoughts and prayerful Hums needed for our ROSE Hershman. I had tried a week ago to call her and she couldn't talk/visit … "Im in the hospital" so I quickly hung up. I tried again today and had a very brief phone visit. I was hoping that hospital comment from a week ago was that she was visiting someone, but she told me today that SHE was the patient recovering from abdominal / bowel surgery. We didn't talk long because I could tell she didn't feel well. She gave me permission today to put up this announcement.

Love to all!! STAY HEALTHY!! Rick

RICK:
Please tell Rose we are thinking about her and want her to get well FAST!! hug

ELLEN:
I bet riding on that jetski is lots of fun! Are you getting any decent weather to do it this week?

GRAYMARE:
I like Stradivarius's name. Don't know a thing about him, but bet he is fit as a fiddle! Very Happy

CB:
I hope your back and Harry's toothless problem recover quickly. Are you moving into your house yet?

I took Ivan on a trail ride Saturday. He was so nice and mellow, I had a great time! First trail ride in almost 6 months and it was a good one.
