| That's a really neat photo shop from carousel to live horses. The Children's Museum in Indianapolis has an old carousel in it. The kids can ride it. It was originally in a park in Indianapolis, a loooonnnng time ago. My dad said he rode it when he was a kid. That would have been more than a hundred years ago. The museum also has a restoration room where they rebuild and repair the animals. The place is designed for children, but most adults enjoy it too. | |

| I finally met the new neighbors across the road this afternoon. Very nice couple with a year old daughter and an 11 year old son. They have three bay geldings and a gelding mini who is white and about 3 inches taller than Trinket. They came from Florida and are happy about the lack of bugs here. I might go riding with her, she is wanting to go into trail riding. She did dressage before. Sunny day here, 51 degrees. Our other neighbors with the horses were burning brush, so I didn't bother trying to ride today. Ivan is convinced brush fires are for cooking cute horses. | |

| Good morning everyone.
Update on my week after getting home from my brothers funeral. Got a phone call at 4 AM on Weds from my son Stacy. He was at the ER. Got dressed and dashed to the hospital. He thought he had 2 strokes, turn out that he had 2 heart attacks. One on Tuesday and one on Wednesday morning at 2 AM. Drove himself to the ER in 12 minutes usually a 25 minute drive. He was transferred to UPMC in Williamsport and had open heart surgery Thursday at 8AM. 3 blockages at 70 % each. Spent the last 5 days at the hospital, pacing around. Talked to him last night before we came home and he was doing OK. Back to the hospital this morning. His son Aaron & his wife drove up here on Wednesday and left on Saturday night. What a freaking nightmare after Ted's funeral. Always something crazy going on in my family. He may come home today and stay at our house for a few days. Yesterday he was up and walked almost 2 miles in the hospital. Prayers please. We sure need them.
Love & prayers, Trudy | |

| Wow, Trudy! Thank goodness he got to the hospital safely, and in time. While the surgery is certainly no fun, he might feel better than he has in a while after he heals. Prayers for his quick healing. | |

| When I went to bed last night, there was ice all over the lake. This morning, there was a sort of path down the middle of the lake that was not frozen. Now, 6 hours later, there is very little ice left. It will be gone in a couple of hours. We only had ice for just over three weeks. The trees are beginning to bud, and my tulips are poking up to the surface. I just hope they don't get their little heads bitten off by a frost. It's 63° today!!! | |

| ELLEN: I thought I had seen that video before....until they brought the cows out! That was a very nice performance. Rain here again. It's a wet world here. I did get in a little ride on Ivan a couple of days ago, only the 2nd ride of the year. We had fun, we pushed a ball around with a broom. He wanted to bite the ball, but otherwise did pretty good with it. He's a cute thing sometimes.... | |

| Happy Valentines Day everyone.
My computer at work crashed first thing Friday morning and I have been scrambling ever since to get a new one and take care of my clients. Thankfully I was able to come in this morning and fire up the new one and was able to access the programs and web sites that I use. I then took the time to find this site again and bookmark it so I can pop in occassionally.
I liked the paddy deux video. I was wondering why people were in cow pajamas on the side lines. Nice touch.

| I made homemade beanie wienies for dinner last night. Dropped a Correlle ware plate on the tile floor which shattered into a million pieces scattered all over the place. Some tiny shards landed in the beanie wienies.... We had canned soup for dinner. | |

| Those Corelle dishes are tough, but when they break they go everywhere. I had one bowl that was sitting in the stack of others just like it. I picked it up to use it and the whole thing just came apart into two huge pieces. | |

| ELLEN: We got those Corelle ware dishes as a wedding present....50 years ago in April. They've been pretty great, this is the first plate I have broken. I can't blame it since it got slammed into a ceramic tile floor when it slipped off the other plate I was carrying. I did break 4 bowls once when I dropped them on a brick floor. We replaced the bowls, hopefully we can find a plate. Coolish and windy here today. Donnie and I get the barn done, then watch a couple of hours of "Bones". We are addicted. | |

| Ark, if you can't find replacements in the stores, look at Replacements Ltd. They have lots and lots of odds and ends. The Corelle set that I have is more than 20 years old. Until fairly recently, I still saw the pattern in Meijer and Walmart. | |

| ELLEN: Still cleaning the barn and hobbling along on my poor sore foot. It's been windy and chilly all week, but looking up. Daisy hasn't been feeling too perky, she is having what seems to be a sore foot issue, laminitis. She gets one nearly every year, although we didn't have one last year. I suspect the wonderful hay we bought this year is too rich for her. She isn't critical, but ouchy. Bute, padded hoofboots, no grass. Poor horse.
We saw an eagle the other day! It flew over us as we drove down the road near here.
I did find a place that has Corelle ware plates, but they didn't have the dinner plate size in stock. I'll check around some more.

| I don't have much to report on. The sun is shining and that is unusual so I'll take it as a win. I had yesterday off work for President's Day, but I had to go in anyway to try and get caught up on some stuff. When I came home 3 of the horses were in the field that is next to the road. Sophie and Lily were stretched out in the sunshine right next to the road taking naps with Monster standing guard. I laughed at them as I drove by thinking that others may think I had 2 dead horses laying there. By the time I parked the car and headed into the house, Lily was standing guard and Monster had joined Sophie in laying the sunshine. Tiberius was off getting a drink of water or something.

| 50° and blue sky is a welcome change. A friend found a recipe for blueberry cookies. So, I decided to try it out. Not bad if I do say so myself. Next time, I'll freeze the blueberries before mixing them in to bake the cookies. They got a bit soft and it's a little hard to eat them without having blue fingers. Didn't stop me from eating them though. | |
