The end of the year party for the kids was a hit.........we served lunch after some fun horse games...........by that time, hot & windy. I would say the kids were really tired, but in reality, the adults were. Glad to be home & in sitting watching NBC waiting for the race................

I always love the hype the announcers throw out over each horse..........a horse is a horse is a horse, unless, of course, it wins a million or so...........LOL

Gads, sloppy track & rain.................or drizzle...........

By the end of the race, they will all look alike. Mud color, unless one of them leads all the way.

No Triple Crown winner this year. Good race though, and everybody was safe.

Kent Desormeau is such a good jockey............he sure played his cards right today...................

Before the race, they were talking about Exaggerator losing by a little less each race to Nyquist. The opening quarter was really fast, so I guess Nyquist burned out too soon.

Plus, he really got chased which made him burn out faster. I didn't even realize he was 3rd.........thought he was 2nd..............I was too busy watching Desormeaux run by...............

I need lots of love sent to my jaemi, she needs to feel loved and needed, prayers, hums....she doesn't want to live with her Parkinson's anymore, its been a long night y'all....really long, but drs think she is out of woods physically. We r packed, but she got so upset that we knew, she says she can't face us.....yegads, thanks for listening. Jeff is same, weaning him slowly off paralytic and coma, so we will wait and see. His mom is doing better. Bro skee feels pretty good today, thankfully. On other hand I've been up all night getting info thru out the night...waiting...so I'm don't feel anything but numb. I was very happy when they took her off ventilator and she was breathing on her own. My oldest is there with her, she told me when they transported her to bigger hospital in ICU that she could tell she was over breathing and meant she was breathing on her own too...she wasn't at first. Thankful.

Oh my gosh, CB! Lots of prayers going for Jaemi. How long has she known she has Parkinson's? From what I know of it, it is a very discouraging disease.
I'd been wondering where you were. Keep us posted when you can.

Wow. Your family is sure getting hit hard lately. Big hugs and sending healing thoughts for all of them, and you.
My last uncle who is 82 has Parkinson's. He has good and bad days. I sincerely hope that research is going on to cure this.



Donnie mowed our upper hayfield today. Then it rained on it. Hopefully the rest of this week will be kinder, we need the hay. It's rained almost every day in May so far. We bought the last available hay from our hay guy, everybody is looking for decent horse hay. Or just edible hay... I have been putting grazing muzzles on our horses for a few hours a day lately, trying to stretch our hay without foundering my herd. They are not amused. All, but Zippy, were out together wearing their muzzles today. They looked like herd from outer space. Even Cactus Jack has to wear one. Zippy has a bit of laminitis going on, so not even a bite of grass for him. It has been a difficult spring.

Areion gets a riding lesson tomorrow. Ivan and I will not. I have a physical therapist appointment on Tuesday and want a good diagnosis of my joint issues. Any saddle soreness might confuse things.
I want this joint problem over so I can ride!

Testing. I posted yesterday and it looked like it posted but today it is not there.

What were you going to tell us, Trudy?

Jaemi is doing better, she will need further treatment, tho. She probably won't talk to me again but if it helps her, so be it.
On a brighter note, Jeff squeezed hands, opened eyes, kissed his mom and called her mom, and smiled! Yippee . that news after over two weeks in nicu has given us all hope.
Harry is having a memory test to gauge his altzheimers...make sure he is on right med dose...sigh...boy this has been

CB, when she gets healthy again, she'll talk to you and probably thank you.  I'm glad to hear that she is better, and that Jeff is too.  Prayers are continuing for all of you.

Woohoo. I no longer have a 4 wheeler and a log splitter in my yard. There is still a little bit of tree trash, bark, etc to be cleaned up, but an hour of raking and picking up will take care of that. Then, I can work on filling the holes in the yard and mow everything.

I'm hanging on the side of good news CB.................PRAYERS continue.

Sounds like some good things are happening. I hope that continues. I saw your house sale description on Facebook. It must be hard giving up such a nice house....


Yesterday, the farmer/neighbor who takes half our horsey doo, opened up two gates to get his truck down to the barn. Four horses and a donkey, all wearing grazing muzzles, watched him intensely as I was dashing toward the gate from the house. I got there just as Daisy and Ivan took off like racehorses and ran thru the gate next to the truck as fast as they could and headed for the driveway and road.. ... I slammed the gate keeping Areion, Kazi and Cactus in the barnlot and ran up the hill after the escapees. They got half way up the driveway to the open road, then seemed to realize the others weren't with them. I got near them and pointed back towards the barn and told them to get back down there. Ivan galloped back down to the closed gate and Daisy followed him.....whew... The neighbor never expected the horses to move so fast, he has cows.

Trouble with my computer. It keeps shutting down as I try to write email. That's why I'm missing in action....I had to have a tooth pulled last week and as you know I'm a weenie when it comes to my teeth. Still sore from all the shots and I think my body went into shock after she pulled the tooth. Not quite sure how I made it to CVS to get the pain meds and them home in one piece. LOL What a weenie...

Doing better this week except for the computer nightmare. Windows 10 update my system without my persmission and it's been a nightmare ever since.

I'll be back...maybe...

I went to the physical therapist yesterday. She seems very practical and talented. She thinks I have bursitis in both hip joints and recommended I go back to my doctor for x-rays before continuing with physical therapy. So I have an appointment next week.

We may get our hay baled today. Busy day ahead and going to be a sunny 82° ! Feels like summer arrived.

Jaemi is doing better, Jeff is sitting up in a chair talking....yay. I am so happy for him, and for his mom who has worried herself to a frazzle.
Trudy, I'm the biggest weenie, sorry, you don't get that title, lol. Hope you feel better

Took more stuff to auction storage room, have two people wanting to come see house, keep fingers crossed.

CB, temps in the low 90's, heading up next week.......it's been odd. Up & down.
BUT it's coming................and then once it hits, it will stay 110-12 etc til October, sometimes Nov........................it's still low humidity til July and then monsoon season with 110-12 and humidty................

Ark: It's not this site that is causing my nightmare, it is my email that keeps shutting down. I usually do my posts in an email first for spell check reasons. LOL My laptop downloaded that stupid Windows 10 by itself whem I walked away from it and ever since I have been having so many problems. AUUGHHHHHH I need more stress. I refuse to allow it to beat me!!!!!!

CB: We will have to share the biggest weenie title. There is just something about the dentist and red headed people. So sorry to hear about Jaemi and Jeff. Always something to keep us worried about.

Anyway the sunrise is beautiful here this morning..

Three of my cousins came up for the day. Two are visiting from California. All of them are going to the Indy 500 race on Sunday. I don't like crowds and heat enough to want to do that. I can sit here in my living room and see the whole race.
We ate chicken and dumplings like we grew up with, home made ice cream, and they took a sugar cream pie home with them.
A neighbor was kind enough to take us for a nice pontoon ride.
They left full and happy.

Sounds like fun day.....and, how did they like the house, ELLEN?

Too hot, too early! We have been in the low 80s the past couple of days. Feels like summer. We put up 75 pretty haybales yesterday and beat the rain.

If all goes well, Lori and I are taking Areion to a small local horse show tomorrow, just to walk around and see the sights. She has never been anywhere alone. She did visit that same show a couple of years ago, but had Ivan as a companion. She is probably not going to enjoy going alone....
