It has been a simply gorgeous day.
A friend and I got together to try to learn more about our sewing software. We made a little progress, but have a long way yet to go. We had lunch first, so we'd be well fortified for our studies.
The water level is slooooowly going down.

Ark, how's the hay work going?

ELLEN:
 We loaded 144 bales of hay into our garage shed....by ourselves.  We are tired!  It was a beautiful day here, too.  Great hay making weather...  We have to clean up the barnlot pasture's cut hay and then we will be done.  There will only be a few bales there and most are not going to be horse suitable, so won't get put into the shed.  Our next trick will be building a hay building for the 2nd cutting....No rest for the wicked!

RICK: Happy birthday a little late. June 1 is 2 of my bestest girlfriends birthday also.

ARK: Congrats on getting all that hay put up. WHEW that is a big job for 2 people. I know what you mean when you say you have to teach yourself to chew on both sides again.

My dentist appointment went well. Doc is happy with the progress I have made. The mysterious bacteria has moved on and the spot on my gum is just a funny shade of pink. YIPPEEEEE It's been a long road

One more day until the MOPH State Convention. Working our butts off to get everything ready for the big event. The truck is washed and loaded with flags and various military equipment. After church tomorrow my Explorer & Amy's car get loaded with clothes, food and drinks. Off we go for 4 days of non stop dashing about. Today we load the big Purple Heart sign on the ATV trailer and of course it's raining AGAIN.

My puppy dog is going to be mad with us being gone and me dashing in a couple times a day to check on him. Our neighbor who usually takes care of him had to have his toe cut off due to his diabetes so he won't be taking care of Ace for us this year. It's OK, I'll have a chance to get away from the insanity of the convention.

Okay.  That was just weird.  
I had decided to go get BBQ chicken from the same company as last week.  The company provides BBQ chicken for fund raisers.  It's great chicken, so it's a great one for fund raising.  Whatever group is raising money only has to provide people to run the tent for a few hours.  No cooking.  No cleaning up.
As I pulled up to the tent, I noticed a nice looking pony happily eating the roadside grass.  The fund raiser this time was for a local Pony Club that I didn't even know existed.  I ordered my chicken and told one of the women that if any of their kids needed a good saddle, I have one that needs a new home.  I was writing down my name and all the information when one of the other women came to my car.  She announced who she was.  It's a wonder I didn't fall out of the car.  She was a little girl, maybe 11 or 12, when I last saw her about 45 years ago.  Her family had lived in the town where I started ice skating, about 175 miles from here.  How in the world she recognized and remembered me, I have NO idea.  After she told me who she was, I did recognize her.  I had never known she was a horse lover.  I only saw her at the ice rink.  She is now a grandmother with her grandson in Pony Club.  She lives only about 12 miles from me.
I do hope that one of their kids needs a saddle.  Pony Club would be a good place for it.

Ellen, that was cool running into her like that, hope your saddle finds a new home.

Here is some very good news about Liz, just posted this evening.

GOOD NEWS FROM LIBBY ON LIZ Oh where do I start.....leave Bobcayeon at 4 hospital just before 6 last night, Mom is up having dinner, WOW! You been on facebook, no Mom, been really busy! will try tonight, did not happen, spent morn and early aft cleaning with Rose Halley, go to hospital, first thing, you been on FB, no Mom, tonite, promise. So here it is someone has a "GET OUT OF JAIL" pass, she is coming home!! Tentative Wednesday this week!! This week is going to be crazy, last week working on long term care etc, tons of meetings, phone calls, and now moving forward.....so going down Tuesday, bring her home Wed and stay til Thurs. She mentally is back, right down to needing shampoo bought cuz she is out, she told me, physical pretty good, walker is the new baseline, so physio moving forward. Also told Mom that I would leave all my postings on her wall so she can see all all the well wishes and how worried we all were in the beginning of this, has been one helluva month!! Thank you to everyone and mega hugs

I have to admit, we both feel like we've been beat with a rubber hose.  We have been slugs all day, but still had to do things anyway.  My worst thing is my elbow, I may have tendinitis or possibly a bursa problem in it.  Moving all that hay didn't help it much.  Donnie's knees are swollen and he has been tired all day.   Hopefully we will get some strong boys here next hay cutting.

 How nice you ran into that lady!  Strange where we meet up with folks sometimes.  I hope the saddle finds a new home with her 4-H crowd.  

 Speaking of chicken,  remember I told you about the guy and his Chicken Bus?  We happened by him this morning in Radford.  I have never seen that bus moving, it must fold up pretty well.

Ark, i remember well those days, but in idaho the bales r three stringers....i used to drag and roll thise suckers, but my girls could heft them like nuthin....i feared for any of their boyfriends if they pi$$ed them off. I do miss my horsie fix, smelling that soft muzzle .... sigh....enjoy your trusty steeds.
Having bbq today at oldest kids house, she works during the week. 
Motorcycles unite are coming thru town today, raising money....i am going to go watch.

Getting hammered here, boats capsized on lake, fires, wind limbs and trees down, shingles off, trampolines sailing by, horses and digs out, wrecks....gads....dust and wind storm from hell.....no power anywhere.
Took scooters to bbq, jaemi had to go get trailer to haul us home, wind was making me wobble, dust went under my shield on helmet, couldnt see...crapola. no weather warning before it hit, was spose to have gone north of us, weatherman screwed up again....mt. home took direct hit.

Wow, CB! What a storm! Glad you and all your stuff is okay.

Today I went to a graduation party for one of the neighbors' sons. He is a really great kid, and worth the effort to be there. It was a HUGE party. They live in a subdivision and cars were lined up and down both sides of the street for at least two blocks, easily 50 cars and more than 100 people. They had set up a tent with tables and chairs for at least 80 or more. I only knew a very few of them, but a good time was had by all.
I came home well before the end because there was scattered rain all over the area and I had left all my sliding doors open. I expected to find a soggy mess when I got home, but fortunately it hadn't rained very much here. Just a few sprinkles came through the screens.

Tomorrow we're going to put the jet skis in the water. YIPPEE!!! The water level isn't back to normal yet, but is well down from what it was a week ago. Down enough to be able to play.

That was quite a storm!  Dust storms are just terrible.  Luckily, we don't have those here, but I remember them when we lived in Colorado.  Our car got sandblasted on one side.
 Our weather forecaster got it wrong, too, but it went the other way.  It was supposed to rain all weekend and we didn't get a drop.  It was very pretty all weekend.

Donnie and I had a fun afternoon at the movies.  We saw "Wonder Woman".  Fun show!!

You can probably get them at the Magic Mart. There's one not far from here....

Cool lasso, isn't it? It makes the lassoed one tell the truth! Very handy.


Rainy day here. No riding lesson today.

Today is a beautiful day. Sunny, warm, and enough wind to be very comfortable.

I remember Wonder Woman's magic lasso had special powers. hmmmm I wonder if it work on politicians, or are they all immune to truth.

Fire is still burning, close to a town....wowzer. hope they get it out like now!  Chased loose horses and dogs that got out from trees falling on fences...not ours, but we caught them up and jaemi knows where most belong...so hopefully got them home safely, pulled fences up and good ol hay string to the rescue, tied fast to posts. Dogs had to go to the shelter til owners come claim them.

CB, what's going on with the fires? Did the horses and dogs get returned home?
