GRAYMARE/RICK: Those were just sooooo funny. I have to say that some of the gifts those guys got their wives I also received as gifts from my husband. A sweeper, a paper shredder and a robe (not a hotel robe though). I must be weird cause I liked those gifts, wellllllll maybe not the paper shredder so much, but I had been talking about not having one.
My worst ever Christmas present was from my ex, he got me a sting of bells on a rope. I was expecting an engagement ring and got bells on a rope. That should have been the first warning to me, run run away as fast as you can. HAHAHAHAHA 43 years later and I still remember that gift, I think I still have them somewhere.
Hope everyone is all ready for the big day. I'm all ready, the Lady Locks have been baked and filled. WHEW we made 190 of the little cookies, all the presents wrapped and ready to go, everything is mailed and now we can relax and get ready to enjoy Candlelight Christmas Eve service at church. My favorite service of the year. So beautiful..
Merry Christmas everyone.

Manygates--- one of our guests for Thanksgiving was an Honor guard like ----stationed in Wash. It was a pleasure to see that self confidance and self respect. Time fly by------I never looked that fit in any uniform!!!

TRUDY: Those cookies sound great! You seem to be all ready for Christmas!
OL'MAN: Good to see you! I'd love to see pix of you in your uniform.
CB: Congrats on the new house. Is it nice? I hope the weather cooperates and lets you move in easily. How are your animals doing?
GRAYMARE: Those dog house videos are hysterical! I had Donnie watch them and he said he had better be more careful if they now have place for bad present giving husbands . It was funny that the guy who escaped, and kept being recaptured, was named Donnie.
Happy Winter's Solstice! My favorite day of the year! The sun will be out longer tomorrow....at least by two seconds or so. Only three more months until spring!!
We celebrated the Winter Solstice by going to see the last "Hobbit" movie. We were actually going to go see it last night, got there just in time, and discovered that neither one of us had a dime on us. (I think we were made for each other....) Tonight we made sure we were carrying some moola. It was a good film, although a little heavy on the battle scenes.
Donnie is off work for two whole weeks! I don't think that has happened in 5 or 6 years.

TRUDY, my favorite service is Christmas Eve, also………..I baked cookies but not as many as you did. I did chic chips and sugar cookies…easy compared to Lady Locks.
CB, is your move far away? Sounds like dinner was good at your house.
Hi OLMAN……good to see you………
ARK, one time sev years ago after work on Fri, TL & I went out to eat at our "hangout". We ate, got our bill and had to borrow $24.00 from friends as neither of us had any cash………….I think it was $24.00. Anyhow, we were lucky we knew people or we would have been sweeping floors and doing dishes. It's a really funny memory for us.

SNOOP here ... Haven't been around much, but wanted to let you know that I miss you especially since Rick retired from being a truck driver.
One day recently, I was standing on the street corner downtown and I was all decked out in my ten gallon hat, western shirt, Wrangler boot cut jeans, large belt buckle that Rick had given me, a handkerchief around my neck, and a pair of tennis shoes. A passerby asked about being all decked out with cowboy garb, but why the tennis shoes ... "Where's your cowboy boots?"
I quickly responded, "What do you want me to look like? A truck driver!!"
See you later!!, and love to all!!

OL'MAN: Let me salute you sir for your service and the things you do for the Veterans. Not many of Vets I know can even get close to fitting in their uniforms, not even the younger ones. Our Purple Heart Christmas party was a big success, we even managed to get the local papers to put in a article about the party this year, after a small PTSD attack by one of the vets.
CB: A big congrats to your grandson who joined the Army.
ARK: Without cash "no soup for you". HAHAHA
GRAYMARE: Yup, those cookies are a lot of work, one year I didn't make them and the kids & grand kids acted like I was torturing them by offering them different cookies. They thought I was kidding and were checking all the freezers and fridges. They are a bunch of spoiled brats.
Have a great Christmas week everyone and remember Jesus is the reason for the season.

Ol'man, it's good to hear from you. Glad to know that you and Virginia are doing well.
That's a guilty dog look, if I ever saw one. I'll bet just the end of her tail was thumping the floor.
I just finished making the pecan bits, otherwise known as tassies. They take a little time, but well worth it.
Talking about not having money.... Several years ago, I left home bound for El Paso, 1500 miles away. About an hour and a half out, I decided the truck stop would be a good place to get some gas. I started looking for my purse, and realized I'd left it at home - cash, credit cards, everything. There wasn't enough gas left to make it all the way home. However, for a considerable period of time I'd been dropping coins into a glove box. By the time, I counted all the quarters I had $15 which was enough to buy more than enough gas to get home. When I went in to pay for it, I did get a strange look from the clerk, and a couple of teasing remarks. An hour an a half later, I had the purse and started out again. That was enough to make me be extra careful about having my purse in tow.

Today, I paid less than $2/gal for gas! That's the first time that's happened in more than 5 years. It was great. CB, I like your idea too.

This was on our local online newspaper this morning. It's a great Christmas story and I thought I'd share it.
Beth Brewer, Claypool, experienced something Monday afternoon she will never forget. She shared her experience with InkFreeNews on our Facebook page and it is worth sharing with others.
“I want to share this truly amazing ‘pay it forward’ I saw at Walmart in Warsaw today. This gentleman in his early to late 70s was in line, I was behind him.”
Brewer noted a lady came up and asked the gentleman if she could go ahead of him as she only had one item. While the gentleman said it was fine, Brewer states he looked a little bewildered.
A conversation began between Brewer and this man. She complimented him on being generous letting the woman go in front of him. During their conversation Brewer noticed the man was wearing a Navy hat with numerous pins. The conversation switched to the pins.
Brewer told him that she used to work at the American Legion in Warsaw and learned he was a life member at that post. While she was shaking his hand and thanking him for his service, she saw what was happening at the cashier.
“I noticed the lady that butted-in tell the cashier to use the $100 bill she had just given her to pay for his stuff and if there was any money left over to give it to him. I was shocked.”
Brewer watched as the man went to pay for the $8 and change worth of merchandise he had purchased. “The cashier was crying so hard she couldn’t tell him what happened,” wrote Brewer. She, herself was also crying, but tried to maintain her composure told him what had happened. “You could see the tears streaming down his eyes. I said ‘God sure blessed you didn’t he.'”
Brewer states she cried all the way home, telling God that was the best thing she had ever witnessed.
This was a true pay it forward and a true act of Christmas.

When gas prices are falling, you need to only buy a little at the time. FILL 'ER UP when prices are rising.

Goods stories to read here! And good videos to watch!!
I love watching Friesians move, they seem to just float.
The WalMart story sure went better than I was expecting! How wonderful of that woman....I also like what the young lady did for the homeless folks. What a creative thinker she is.
ELLEN We do most of our grocery shopping at Kroger's and had saved up 50¢ off per gallon of gas on our Kroger card. We got gas at the Kroger's station for $1.69 a couple of days ago!! Hard to believe....
Today I let all the horses out on the upper field to eat grass for a couple of hours. They were all thrilled. When I went to gather them up, Trinket galloped up the hill to the gate into the barnlot pasture, then stopped for a few more bites by the gate. Areion was the last one into that gate and just as she was passing Trinket, Trinket dove at Areion like she was 16 hands tall instead of 7 1/2 hands. Areion jumped three feet sideways to avoid the tiny monster! Trinket is still bossing Areion around. She could walk under Areion without touching her. Trinket in not small in her mind....

Rick, that's a really neat story. "Teach a man to fish....."
I guess mini teeth and heels hurt just as much as a 16 hand set of teeth and heels. She has Areion well trained.
