I am alive due greatly to your generous thoughts and prayers!!! Thank you for this and your wonderful friendship....

This morning they finally came up with a definate diagnosis and know how to treat it. It has been like being in a Dr. House show without any of the fun. Yesterday I was convinced I was going to die. Today I am totally opposed to that idea.

They transferred me by amblance toRoanoke and did a ton more tests. They have installed a tempoary port in my neck to give me plasma exchanges until all destructive agents are cleansed away. Like dialysis.

It took a week of Antibiotics IVs to keep me going and I will be here at least ten more days and possibly up to 20 days before theres a lack of any infection. This started as food poisoning and morphed into a terribe red bloodcell killing toxin. It has a long name of unintelligable names and is very rare and very fatal if not caught early. I have been diagnosed quick enough and will most likely make a full recovery.

I have officially passed Kazi as our most expensive creature! I wont get to see them for almost a month...

Ark, I sure am glad to hear from you, and to know a little more about what is going on. Our prayers will continue for you to make an outstandingly fast recovery.

ARK: OMG how horrible. I will keep you in my prayers. Hang in there, hopefully the worst is over with and you will home sooner than originally thought. Thank God the doctors finally figured out what it was and you received the correct treatment quickly.

I bet the horses think "what the heck happened to our mom?" They will be gald to see your smiling face when you get home.

I was glad to read your post this morning ARK. Yesterday I was stupified (about your news)all day and sent up some strong prayers for you. Glad that they got to the problem quickly. What do you suppose caused the food poisining in the first place? I will be waiting to read some more good reports from you soon.

Life is going by fast here, this week is our regular Ex and of course today is rain. Yesterday everything was held inside, all the horse stuff, and I stayed there all day after my chores. Today it is outside but I have things that I need to do so will just hope that the weather clears up for the exhibitors. Allison spent the morning with me watching horse. Last night I had an OES funeral service that I had to attend so that was the end of the Ex for me. Friday night another funeral service, two in one week, losing a lot of our old members.

Hope that everyone else is keeping well and out of trouble.

Ark .. prayers still ongoing for a quick recovery. Thankful that they found out what is going on.... Hope you are out of hospital PDQ!!!! Hugs to you and Donnie and Annie and your critters!!!! Know they are all missing you. I have to go back and reread what you said, but sounds complicated and hard to diagnose..... ((( )))

ARK...I just read your last remarks to Carol and was discussing the "what if's" etc. with her. She gave me an EQUINE like response I just have to share with you and this board.

It pertains to the "rare" comment you made. I was marveling about how "quickly" they found the "rare" cause of your ailment when Carol said: "That's a Zebra"...What that refers to is the process of them "looking" for your ailment. Analogy is when you are looking for...and not finding...horses... but you hear hoofbeats...you look for OTHER thing with hoofbeats. Thus: "That's a Zebra". OR....looking at it another way is: When you hear hoofbeats, you look for horses. Not finding/seeing horses, you start looking for other causes of hoofbeats....thus Zebras. Carol says this is a fairly common "remark" in medical circles!!

IF there is anything I can do to help you/Donnie/Annie...I'm just under 2 hours away!!

I had an "OOOOPPPPSSSS" moment yesterday and managed to gouge a hole in the side of my thumb. It's still in the throbbing stage and...well...sticks out like a sore thumb.
