Summer Time at Last!!

CB:
 I just finished cleaning the barn, then cleaning the peacock/chicken house.   I am glad I don't  have to clean that bird house very often.  I just moved the 6 new laying hen chicks from the bathroom into the former rooster night cage in the bird's house.   No more smelly chicks in the house!  The roosters now have a bachelors' pad on the outside of the bird house and dome, so they are now banned from where the other birds live.   They spent their first night in their new home last night, then this morning couldn't figure out how to get out the door. Donnie opened it up for them before he went to work. .  No one said they were bright roosters.... When the rooster who loves me saw me, he dived out the open door and had a head-on collision with me.   He nearly knocked me off my feet.  People probably wonder about the odd assortment of minor injuries I seem to always have....The rooster had a soft landing.

Chickie pens...ewwwwwww.......harry is buiding ours a chicken tractor on wheels...I can move it around, I can't wait until the chicks r out of the hay barn/mini horses and goat barn.

Well all dogs r now squeaky clean...and we had to hit the showers so we r clean too.
Found a couple yucky ticks on one doxie, no one else had any. she has the longest coat...go figure. guess they just hop on her. we have spray works pretty good 1 out of ten..had ticks. sprayed her better and really rubbed it in. all my doggies are on the enclosed porch with their doggie door into the race track, or have a doggie door in/out of laundry room for others. my lil males stay on the porch and one spayed female who hates the other girls but loves being with the guys....the other 6 in and out as they please into their part of the race track. in the very center of the track will be our garden next year and the dogs can keep the rabbits and deer out.
I had a wild turkey look in my front door and a lil bunny follows hubby around outside....and squirrels and birds galore!

Gads, RICK, forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you had a lot of cake at home before you had to leave.

RICK: Happy belated birthday. Hope it was a good one and no forest fire erupted around your cake. Stay safe out on the dangerous roads especially in PA where the worst drivers in the world are, next to Ohio drivers.

ARK: I checked my Foley Food Mill and it says it is made by Foley. I would suggest NOT to get the small one, That's what I have and it takes a lot of cranking to mash the apples into sauce.

CB: Have fun with those chickens. Something has been killing our friend Jeff's chickens. 3 last week. We took over our traps to see if we can trap whatever it is doing the damage to the chickens and are working on a roof for the big chicken coop he has built. Picked 15 ticks off me & Ace in the month of May. It's a bad year for ticks here in PA. Tomorrow I'm off to the vet to get heartworm and tick meds for Ace.

We wanted rain and we sure have been getting it. 3 days of rain so far, no watering the garden this week, now we are praying the tender plants survive the deluge of rain.

Lots going on around here. George has his Purple Heart convention down around Pittsburgh and will gone for 4 days, grandson Rod is graduating from high school on Friday and having a party on Saturday. I'm making his favorite desert an apple pie just for him.

I loved the baby goats in pajamas! There were years I could have used PJs on baby goats. I had a set of twins born in February when it was 18°. I never thought of PJs. Later when they were older and shorn in the early spring, I put my sweatshirts on them. They were so cute!

I briefly rode Ivan this evening. His limp seems to be completely gone, thank goodness. Areion's lesson got rescheduled for Friday afternoon, I think I will ride Ivan at that time.

ThunderPuff has discovered running water. He can't jump up on the bathroom sink yet, so meows pitifully until we pick him up and turn the water on. He gets soaking wet trying to catch it.

It's good news that Ivan is sound again. He probably just had a slight sprain from running and jumping.

We need pictures of ThunderPuff again. He must be getting big by now. Well, big compared to what he was when you got him.

We got the dock and jet ski lift in yesterday, so I'm hoping to get the jet ski launched today.

Ellen, sounds like u r gonna be havin some fun times!

Ark, glad Ivan is all better, enjoy ur rides.

It rained here again today....I'm starting to see signs of webbing tween my toes....

We took the new car in for a new battery, undercoating and sealant on paint....and monday it gets a new windshield as this one has cracks..very fine lines of cracks...hubby says its crazed??

Tomorrow there may be horse show or trailride ....if they don't get rained out pfffft

This was posted by Terry, Jo's older son, about her younger one, James. He was 46.

"To all who know me and my family I would like to request a prayer for all of us. Especially for my parents and Taylor Brundige. Their youngest son, my brother, and Taylor's father, James Brundige passed away early this morning from liver cancer. We only learned of his cancer recently as a few weeks ago. At first we were told he had a year. Then we were told it was only a few months. It ended up being only a few weeks. As of this time I have received no information concerning arrangements for him. I will post that information as soon as I find out. We know his friends would especially want to know this."

Oh golly. What a horrible heartbreak for a mother. (((((((((Hugs to JO))))))))). There are no words to ease the pain.......

Well, we did auction, left chris there as she wanted to bid on a mini, hubby and I went totrailride and even tho ride was over lots of folks there to talk with, then we went to amish store and did a lil shopping, and then to horse show to meet folks there.chris came home with a mini so she was happy! humid day today...ugh

Ready for light dinner and bed. we pigged out on a ring of honey bologne...ate the whole thing.. cant believe we ate the whole ring...like 2 lil piggies. yum, so light dinner tonight.

That's our exciting day! tomorrow yard work and mowing.....o joy

Boy. I tried to post this the other evening (Fri) and couldn't get Picture Trail to paste this here. I took the pic after Rex had been running the hills for a long time. It is his 1 mo of owning him pic. I got a kick of how he
put his head into the cabinet and just slept. We're having a great time with him and he adds so much to daily living.

ARK, PUFF is darling and still tiny. Seems pretty amazing he is alive.

Great race yesterday. The field of 8 was nothing for the Pharoah as he left the gate, took the lead and just ran with the wind across the finish line. So, we got to see a Triple Crown winner. Frosted (2nd) is such a gorgeous horse................wooooooooo.

It's been raining since early afternoon and is going to continue through the night. We sort of needed a little bit, but we're getting a lot.

Over the week end we all organized our ideas for "the home in shady pines".....we're buying an old firengine and hiring a driver to take us to town to shop as long as we're civilized. Then for birthdays we're making a "everyone stuff your meds in the pinata". The birthday celebrity has to hit it open and choose what he/she wants for his/her special day. Gads, I have some hysterically funny friends like the crazy days of the old board. We laugh so hard sometimes we almost get sick.

Taking Rex Ranger riding in a bit. Yesterday was his first ride and he loved it. I'm going to get him a Ranger hat of some sort.........I'm having a ball training him as he is a smart one. He sure keeps me moving.

 We just got some of your rain.  It had been pretty and hot all day.  Areion and Ivan were going to have a lesson this evening. Areion just finished her lesson, and Ivan and I were up next.  We could see huge dark clouds coming with lots of thunder.  Lori decided to leave before it reached us.  Five minutes later, after we finished putting up the horses, Donnie and I ran up the hill and the skies opened up.  We were drenched before we could reach the house.  But the horses were dry.....

Help! chris bought a mini at the auction, had someone haul it home for her and put him in with her other minis with my four across the panel fence. I said it should be quarantined, but nooooooo. the pony had a cough sat and sun....I wanted to separate it, again I was shot down. I bought a thermomneter yesterday morning came home to a dripping snot nosed, and 105 temp. NOW I moved the pony away from others...have a vet appt....harry and I bleached water tubs, fence panels, cleaned manure out of pony pen.....any other ideas? watching everone closely....very closely....

I guess teaching Chris the risk of spreading disease to all if an animal isn't quarantined after purchase. She just needs your help CB.

Prayers for the mini and you all.

If she would believe me on what we need to do...ack, took pony to vet and she is tossing around strangles, ehv1, rhino.......eeeeek on all 3.... hubby and I may not be able to go on the trip we planned to idaho...we will have to watch horses for 14 days and it could take 21 days for all to run their course.......I am very upset. been out spraying panels and thr ground...have used. a lot 9f bleach....owieeeeeeee...upset, no, I'm mad as a banty rooster.....I asked her to wait til we got back, don't buy from that auction....grrrr said she would do what she wanted to do and she did. harry is not happy, he is doing a lot of the work to try to get rid of the nose drops and feces, and he is exhausted in this humidity. I'm thinking of boarding horses at a private barn....away from other horses.telling them why of course....

I just deleted my thoughts CB..............NOMB. BUT, I sure don't blame
you for being angry.......very angry.
