GRAYMARE: Good question. Seems a pretty simple way to save lots of lives. I can't believe anyone thinks a quarter of a million deaths in this country, so far, is a hoax and will disappear right after election day. I wish....
My plan for Areion is to get her tuned up after a two year break, then get me tuned up to ride her. Pix soon!
ELLEN: Good luck with all those leaves!! Donnie just mowed over a bunch of ours, but they aren't all on the ground yet. A hole in one! Wow! I have no idea how one would aim a stick to hit a ball to fly that far and land in a little hole in the ground. Good for him!!
CB: Areion's new trainer may come tomorrow. I hope she brings her boyfriend! That guy is easy on the eyes and incredibly smart!

Hey everybody, if I'm friends with you on FB, there is a great pic of Chetah in a halter class when he was 3-4 and you can see that gorgeous spotted butt! Ark, please share if you can.
I'm having a devil of a time getting the transporter (who I've already paid a deposit to) to firm a date and time for pickup. He says 28 or 29, I'm guessing he's trying to fill his trailer for the run and I'm being impatient.
Ya'll keep positive thoughts about my riding with Chetah, he's been in reining training and I definitely need to keep that in mind so I don't ask for any sudden moves and find my butt on the ground. I'll be riding him in the arena until he and I are used to each other before we take off on some real trail rides. A little advice here if anyone has some. I really, really, dislike those long, thin reins and much prefer a single thick(ish) rein attached to both sides of the bridle. Because this horse is super neck reined trained I feel that the single rein is the way to go, Any suggestions/ideas? Also I'm super concerned with my really nice Circle Y Ladies Flex trail saddle with semi qh bars is going to fir him. He's only been ridden with full qh bars saddles and thats what the trainer is going to use also. I really don't want to have to buy another saddle but...........I'll do whatever but it has to be comfy for us both, short fenders and lightweight,
Ok, I've written a book, please forgive. Hugs all around!

Ark, many thanks once again. He has a many ribbon collection of halter classes, hunter in hand, lead line, etc. His show days are done unless Robin enters some small local western pleasure classes. I just want a willing trail partner. One who jogs not trot! I believe Chetah will fit the bill nicely!
GM, Ark, Ellen, Appy, CB, and others whom I've been friends with for many years! Baby Grandson, Noah, is in his junior year of high school, and got his drivers license in July! Oldest Grandson, Desmond, has finished his college years and has joined the work force. Gee whiz, am I old!!! J.R. is vp of a huge HVAC company near DC and Robin is now a very successful Realtor. Where have the years gone????
Trudy, you have way more ambition than I do, painting a house!!! Proud of you.

ROSE I LIKE CHETAH! I like to ride with reins like you described too. I got a lovely cotton one off of e-bay many years ago. Look for a "barrel racing" rein. I don't recommend the nylon ones. They tend to slip through gloved fingers or fingers that have just been used to apply Cowboy Magic detangle gel. Of course there are leather ones too, I just have a preference for cotton. Cotton reins, lead ropes, lounge lines I love em.

Western reins without the romal part. Reins are knotted so wont leave ya on top without reins if you drop. I love the braided leather round ones...snap onto the bit. Maybe a deep seat barrel saddle...lighter and helps keep your seat and balance. He looks like a halter horse. My youngest rode barbie doll in the world poa show at spanish fork utah ..ask judy if she remembers that horse. Barbie was grand champion in halter. Jessi was so proud.

Rose, he looks like a good sturdy type that will take you wherever you want to go. I hope the transporter will get moving and get him to you fast.

Betty Crocker Triple Chunk Brownie mix. Instead of the 1/4 cup of water, put in black coffee. Instead of baking in a square or rectangle pan, put the batter into the mini muffin tins, that are heavily greased, maybe with parchment paper in the bottom. Bake for 25 minutes. As soon as they are cool enough to touch, lift them out of the pan. They will be like the most favored corner pieces, only all the way around. Nice and crisp on the outside, nice and chewy on the inside.

ROSE: Your new horse really looks great! Can't wait to 'see' him with you! I mostly use rope reins that clip onto the bridle. They are attached with leather breakaways so if you get caught on something or the horse steps on it, the reins will breakaway rather than hurting the horse. I use barrel racing length for Ivan, but Areion's long neck takes a longer rein.
ELLEN: Yum.....chocolate brownies.....
Lots of rain from the hurricane here, about 3 1/2 inches in my bucket. Nothing got flooded, but with the horses in the barn all last night and today, it was a huge mess. The sun came out in the late afternoon and we got the barn cleaned. It is 11 pm here now and raining again.
My youngest sister, Annie, has been exposed to the virus. We will know in a day or so if she tests positive. Two others at her house are positive and one is in the hospital. She had a headache and 100 degree temp a few days ago, but we don't know if that was the virus or not. If that was it, she may get by easier than others.

Aaawww ELLEN ya went and ruin what was sounding so mouthwatering by adding the coffee.... I LOVE dhocolate. I always answer the people here in my office who start out saying "Hey Deborah?" then stop for a response. They're looking for the Yeah What? answer but I answer Chocolate! I would think they would eventually learn to continue their question instead of pausing.... but they don't.

Indy, I don't like coffee either. You do NOT taste the coffee in the brownies. I would have been reluctant to try them if I had known before I tasted them. Even knowing the coffee is in there, I still can't taste it.

Annie tested positive for the virus, along with two other residents (out of 6 total residents) and two out of three caretakers of the house. One resident is in the hospital. So far Annie only has a nagging headache. She is confined to her bedroom for the next two weeks. She has all sorts of entertainment, art supplies and books to keep her busy, and luckily her own bathroom. If it doesn't get any worse, she should be comfortable.
My other sister saw Annie three days before she showed signs of the virus. She is in voluntary quarantine for another week.

A little while ago, two unicorns and a witch stopped by to collect their Halloween treats. I had three extra large Hershey bars for them. The witch can't read yet and wanted to give it back because she didn't know what it was. LOL The two unicorns were happy to accept them, and finally convinced the witch that it really was something she wanted. They were on their way down the street to two more houses where they know they are very welcome. Most of the Halloween activities have been canceled this year.

Happy Halloween!
No kids come here, we are too isolated. If they are trick or treating, they are in the subdivisions.
Annie is doing well today. She is wearing her Halloween costume alone in her room. Her costume is kind of appropriate this year!

My only Trick or Treaters were the girls. We've never had any others here in this neighborhood. Usually, one of the churches has Trunk and Treat in town, but they canceled that this year.
Annie's costume is most appropriate. At least she seems to be feeling well enough to take the picture.

Another month gone in this lovely year we have been trudging through. Only two more months before 2020 will be history. Time to change the calendar:
