| CB: No Southern in you, is there? I wuv grits! I have invited the ladies back with their horses, so Ivan will be getting more practice acting like a good host instead of a rotten hoss while they are here.RICK: Glad you had a nice visit with your brother! Does he look like you? Are you the short brother in the family? I am the tall sister in my family. ELLEN: I worked in the house for awhile and then when I went outside, I was astounded by the blue sky! Oh, well. I rode Ivan for an hour and he did really well. Then I round penned Areion for another hour after that. She is still having problems doing inside turns on her left side. She does fine on the right side, but seems clumsy on the other. Daisy was the same way when she was young, you just have to keep working on the weak side until they figure it out. I don't remember Ivan having such a strong desire to do just one side, so he may have been more balanced.
After cooling Areion off, we turned her, Ivan and Daisy loose in the barnlot field, and I ran the ponies and Kazi around the arena for a little while. Kazi looked great! Trinket was her usual riot, I love watching her run. She is moving really well these days and charges like a little dynamo. Cactus Jack and Zippy ran and bucked and had a good time, but didn't work as hard as Trinket. So everyone, but Daisy, had exercise today. Only Areion was hot, I gave her a rinse off to help cool her down. She likes getting wet.
I am running out of hay and my fields aren't cut yet, but Butch the neighbor has some to sell me. He makes the best hay. Hopefully the guys who cut our hay will get here in mid-May like they said.
Anyway, we kept busy all day as usual.

| It has not rained all day here but the sky looks like it would like to open up and let go.
Went out to gather eggs and there was a huge raven in the chicken pen. He was the same size at my spitz hen. She is not huge but he sure as hell was. I told him he better leave me eggs if he is going to eat the chickens layer pellets and scratch. That is probably why he is so large. I know I a squirrel who eats with the chickens and he too is very chubby.
I keep getting free Kindle books and I am so behind in reading I guess I should go do that. Have a good night all.

| ARK, I have 9 years of deep south in me! but I never learned to like the grits! Now I have lots of Penn Dutch in me...love my fried pig brains and scrapple and birch beer soda....oh yum!
I got some more pics of MZ Missy...will send them to flessa if she doesn't mind..I also have some of the pups, but they are so tiny right now, can't really see much more than lil blobs....they had their dewclaws removed today...were not happy camper for about 30 seconds and then went right back to nursing...Lil pup is still scrawny but I see her nursing often and when I go thru or by the box, I reach down and wake her up so she will nurse some more..she doesn't want it from the bottle anymore...so here's hoping since she is strong enuf to fight me on that, that she will pull thru...on mommys' milk.
My headache persisted so had to take some meds and lay down...ouch...but feel a bit better...I havn't had a migraine in years and years now...don't know why it has started back up and really wish it wouldn't! for sure...ugh...
Well the critters are all fed and quiet...and I am having a fairly early night... Sweet Dreams..

| Thank you Flessa! How was work today? any mysteries to solve? or did your trainee do good?
Ellen, yes I'll keep busy! along with packing and sorting a houseful of stuff and junk and memories...
Nice day today...can't complain about the weather...yesterday the wind blew and it was much cooler...
Pinky has more of an appetite now...I was getting worried about her not wanting to eat...she had dogfood, beef strips, and then she her eggs and ham on toast, tonight she'll have beef noodle soup...I'll feed her whatever she will eat at this time...she needs the protein to feed those pups...I'll worry about despoiling her later! LOL

| Thanks again FLESSA, we all sure love seeing CB's cute babies.............you're right CB, that tiny puppy suremust be tiny............you're doing a great job of keeping it going.
FLESSA will love this one...............you know the motorized wheel chair cars they have at Walmart?...........Fri I saw a guy come out of Walmart in the elec car, and keep going over to Petsmart in it.........He got in Petsmart and they must have kicked him out, as he came right back out..........he was very angry as you could hear him talking back loudly to whomever. Brother.................what's with people? Of course, maybe he was going to try to drive it right on home...........

| GRAYMARE: I bet that guy thought he'd take a tour of the entire shopping center . I am surprised WalMart people didn't run after him. I wonder how many carts they lose like that? An enterprising fellow..... CB: Wow, that is one tiny pup! Looks like a kitten. I am glad he is feeling better. Are you sure your mule baby isn't already a month old? She has really grown! Nice seeing Harry, too. ELLEN: Stay tuned to see the photo you sent me.... CAROL: I may have to buy a can of Alpo . If that would take care of some problems, I'd buy a case! I think Ivan redeemed himself today. We went on an 8 to 9 mile ride over at Pandapas Pond Park. We rode with Noble, the TB, and Amanda, the Morab. Ivan liked them both and was the most relaxed I have ever seen him on a trail ride. He didn't take a wrong step all day. He made me remember why I liked horses . I rode with two ladies about my age and none of us were out to make any land speed records. We walked a lot, trotted a fair amount, and I actually cantered Ivan a little bit! He got right on the trailer in both directions without hesitation, crossed some very wide streams easily, and stayed off the mare's hiney after she gave him one dirty look. He was a model citizen today. - Attachments

| Good for Ivan! If he likes those horses, can they come to your place and ride with Ivan there? or were they there that fateful day?
Texas is cutting hay now..17 a bale for alfalfa, and 13 for coastal about 70 lb bales....EXPENSIVE! I got 50 of each for this time...am hoping it may come down a lil bit and then I will scarf up more. I have to get 8 ton here yet for feeding the next few months...crazy! I need enuf to feed at least 6 months down there, they usually cut early April.
Baby girl is a tall one...and baby girl puppy is a SMALL one! We have been trying our hardest to pull her thru...she is nursing more often now and lil longer each time...but we'll see.
Sweet Dreams Y'all. | |

| CB: Ivan knows the TB, Noble. We have ridden with him a few times. The Morab mare was at our arena on that infamous day, but Ivan didn't know her or the three other geldings who showed up. I think he is just better being away from home and Daisy when there are other horses involved. Is Harry retiring this year? EVERYONE: Does anyone know of a Jodi25, possibly from Canada? She has applied to join here, but I don't recognize her email address. Any ideas who she may be? I sure don't want to turn away anyone, but don't want to admit any spammers either......Please let me know if you have heard of her! I am waddling today, very saddle sore. It was worth it! | |

| The Walmarts here will not let you take the carts out of the store. So I have to unload it into a reg cart to take my stuff to the car. It is almost not worth the effort to use the riding carts. Sometimes I don't and just move really slow while trying to shop. I am getting better and I go tomorrow to see my doctor so we shall see how that goes.
Glad Ivan did you proud yesterday.

| KATHI, maybe here they aren't allowed out of the store, either. I don't even know. Maybe that's why Petsmart booted the guy out of their store so fast....................I was going to my car and just wondered what happened. Maybe the man was detained by the police as I left. I have no idea. I've sure never seen that happen where someone just drives off in one...................................... | |

| Hi, Jodi. Tell us about yourself. As you've probably figured out, this is a group of horse lovers. To fit into the group there are three rules. 1. You have to like/love horses. 2. You have to be over 50, but if you are willing to say you are over 50 when you aren't, that will do. 3. You have to like fudge, but cheesecake will do as a substitute.
Welcome aboard. | |

| No the basket is it. We just moved here from another site that went down. A lot of us have been together since the internet started. The over 50 boards were in 1992 or 3 I think. I think I started posting in 93 because in Priveville we were on a party line phone system until then. So no internet until 93. We have been many different places as some folded but we have been a group for a very long time. I often marvel at that. We have raised and buried a lot of horses in that time as a group. | |
