You will have enough folks at home to play cards after Chris and your brother get there! Is Chris in Idaho? My birthday choice for Harley is tomorrow, the Ides of March. I know two people with that birthday, it is an easy one to remember.

GRAYMARE
I bet that was fun herding those cows down the street! I would end up with the oldest pet cows around if I tried to raise my own beef..... Ivan is good at herding ponies, I wonder if he could herd cows? Laughing

ELLEN
Your vacation sounds so nice and relaxed. I think I would stay there until your lake warms up. It is going to be in the 60s here this coming week, but is still raining a lot.

Donnie called me yesterday morning from the doctor's office and said they didn't have him listed as having an appointment. I told him that was because he had a dentist appointment. So he dashed across town. I am glad I am not the only one who does these things! His teeth were perfect, I am the one who puts dentists' kids thru college.

ARK, these steers and 2 cows are pets........owner simply got a herd without even realizing. Hey, this was big time Mickey Mouse............I moved them about 4-500 yards is all, to home. They ambled right along. It took maybe 10-15 minutes. The owner was happy and I had fun, but seriously, no round up or anything......just got behind them and walked.
The owner had one old horse for a long time and it finally died a couple of years ago. She got 2 cows Shocked cuz she isn't going to ride anymore and thought she could at least get beef in her freezer...........she only wanted 2 steers and moved up to 4...............they are all steers now! LOL

Well, yay DONNIE. Way funny ARK..........

Bad night last night...........friend died suddenly.......waiting autopsy.

I am so sorry about your friend. Is this one of your riding friends?

CB
Well I guess Harley hasn't shown up on my guess day.....Oh, well....

RICK
Pretty quilt! Is this a new hobby for Jillian? Nice color combos!

It was such a pretty day here. The wind was howling, but that has nearly dried up the mud. I wore tennis shoes down at the barn for the first time in weeks. We got all the mess cleaned up from the rainy days and dentist appointments this past week. cheers

Nope. Still in Texas. I'll head home on Friday, and will get there on Sunday. We've had a good visit, the sun is warm, and we've been making some new outdoor furniture cushion covers. Those are nearly done.
According to the weather reports from home it is considerably better now, so I won't dread getting back.

Wow!  He looks like an adult horse, so big and filled out.  Roy Rogers rode "Trigger, his Golden Palomino", so they have always been a favorite of mine.

Last evening, my friends and I went to the house of a friend of mine who lives in Las Cruces. He took us to a restaurant that is literally out in the middle of nowhere. When you see the place, you have absolutely no idea it could possible be a place to eat. Even as you are approaching the entrance, there is still no clue. Graymare, have you ever heard of Adobe Deli, west of Las Cruces about 30 miles? Once inside, there are lots of old things, mostly dusty, to look at. Then, on into the dining room, that looks like I imagine old saloons must have looked, except for the wall sized projection TV and the alligator inside a glass case. One wonders how in the world the place stays in business so far from anywhere, with MILES of desert all around - until you taste the food. While none of us were brave enough to try it, one menu item is "Road Kill Rabbit". The French onion soup is DELICIOUS!
The four of us thoroughly enjoyed dinner and decided that going there should be a yearly event. Then, back to friend's house where he showed us some of his gun collection, some good recipes, and some good laughs.
A good time was had by all.

I plan to be on the road back north on Friday

ELLEN, not sure if I've heard of it or not...I know I have not been there.
A friend of mine in Tombstone keeps telling me of a "something deli" place WAY OUT sort of near LC............anyhow, sounds fun, for sure.

Eli is 14 hands..............not big yet, but growing and healthy. From certain angles still very babyish, LOL. It's just how they grow. Shocked

SUNNY, good to see you.

Newsflash.......breeding Faith again.....she is leased so colt won't be mine..........she pays the health costs etc and I get all the fun until weaned. Faith is leaving in a week or so for the summer and back again after I get home from the mountains.....she is going with her same broodmare pasture friends to the "range" after being bred. That's the plan as I know it so far.............all I have is my money, lease/breeding contract and own my mare thus far. We'll see what God says..............no hormone therapy or AI as I then will cancel the whole thing, and have that in writing etc. I call the breeding shots, they choose the stallion, and she comes back home in Sept..............and foals out here next spring.

What fun! You love having the babies around.

I'm just guessing, but the Adobe Deli should be about 4 hours from you.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  alien bouncy

March 2015 - Page 3 YCelbE

GRAYMARE:
Eli is such a gorgeous guy!! And is the exact same height as Ivan is right now Laughing .  Small, but mighty! wavy   Congrats on your breeding plan for Faith!  Sounds like a fun way to go about it.  Why not AI, though?  Seems safer than field breeding.   Anyway, you will have fun!  Do you plan to keep Eli?

ELLEN:
That sounds like a neato place to eat!  We went to a strange, sort of rustic, place outside St. Petersburg once, I wish I could remember its name.  It was locally famous for its alligator dishes.  I had an alligator tail sandwich....tasted like chicken.....The restaurant sort of hung over a canal or swampy lake and was really a nice place despite its initial looks.

We went to see the movie, Cinderella, this evening.  We both enjoyed it!  The theatre was bought out last year by new folks who have really jazzed the place up.  They had a Cinderella ball last weekend, and still had the special lights up inside the theatre.  Really nice.

No HARPER LYN yet, sigh....

GM, THAT ELI IS LOOKIN GOOD AND WILL GROW INTO A VERY WELL BUILT HORSEE

Ellen, we found a lil place in sierra blanco about hour east of el paso, don't know if its still there or not as this was 3 years ago. it was a small run down place but only restaurant I town, very small town. we went in and there was one lonnnng table. there were border guards eating the best looking chicken fried steak...so we ordered one of those as the portions were so large and it was truly a good meal. dusty knick knacks and souveneirs for sale...waitress was the owner and very old....it was quaint and I would go again.

We hauled friend melissas mini in to the vet to be gelded yesterday....3 vets doing internship did it....I got to assist a bit...the cord was bleeding squirting good, I betadined the crusher and handed it to him while the other 2 just stood there...duh...then I handed him a suture kit to put a few stitches in each one. I also put padding between the cheek and halter buckles and they asked me why? when they released the leg they pulled up I massaged it to get circulation back in before he tried to get up and they asked me why I did that? well, duh...they r the vets....left me wondering what they are being taught?

Well, back on my head, coffee break is over.....

Anyone hear from ol man?
