There is another rain storm heading this way tonight. Then, if the weather people know what they are talking about, we might get a couple of dry days. I went down and tied the kayak to a post so it won't float away if the water gets up to it. The level isn't quite as high as it was in 2009, but getting close. Unless my calculations are off, it hasn't been 50 years since the last 50 year flood - in 2009.
The neatest part of the day was early this morning when I saw a great big beaver swimming by. He was really motoring along. There are several places they have built lodges, but it's fairly uncommon to actually see them.

I've been out of town and while I've been gone it's continued to rain.  I'd hate to guess how much snow it would equal. 12 - 15 feet?  Elkhart has flooded like I have never seen it flood.  My family has been fortunate that our homes that are close to water are higher ground and have stayed dry.  I'm far enough away and my ground is sand so while soggy I'm good.  One of the high schools parking lot and football field is completely underwater.  The school itself is on a little higher ground and is ok.  Lots of closed roads every where.  So yes, building an Ark may not be a bad idea.

Indy, I knew you had more snow on the ground when all the rain started so there would be a lot more water. Thank goodness, the rain seems to have stopped for a while and the water level is at least stable and not coming up. I'm hoping to see it drop a little bit tomorrow. Neighbors, six houses down, are on low ground and I've been a little worried that their house was going to flood. Both are early 80s so no sandbagging for them.
Since it's President's Day tomorrow, the kids won't be going to school so no buses running through deep water on the roads. No mail service either.

Hate it when you are trying to figure out a 139 dollar charge on a credit card, and the oerson you have to talk to has such a strong accent i cant understand them. I had to ask for a superviser.....grrrr.....fraudulent charge! Closed card out.
Just found out samstown casino in vegas has a koa rv park, for winter rates....have to find out if i can have all 4 dogs. Their rate is priced good, includes power and cable tv...dog parks in the campground, pools, hot tubs, and bowling alley, movie theatre, 18 screens, western shop, gift shops, casino and buffets....walmart across the street, and close to a base, i think nellis is still open. Lots to do, food was goid last time we ate there, i may look like a blimp after five months of staying there for winter season.
Still have snow....mts all the way around us are white....
Played farkle with the kids yesterday and made beef stew...snowy and cold day. Brrrr.

Maybe evryones reply button disappeared, mine did today, weird.

I dont like to embarass ir make fun of anyone, but today hubby and i went to the bx on base to shop and passed a heavy very short roly poly woman wearing leggings with a crop top, we both kinda gasoed, jogged on by quickly, and made it into the store before we busted a gut....but then i felt bad for her, too. I mean, would you tell her, hey dont wear leggings, especially flesh tone very tight ones that outline every crevice, fat roll, and crack times 2 ifn ya know what i mean, it looked like she was naked. Two airmen were behind us and they came thru the door, and i saw their expressions, like they were shell shocked, and we were still giggling, when the one guy said, was she naked....the other one said, naaaah, she would have looked better naked....and i know it wasnt nice, but we all dissolved in a fit of giggles....lordie....poor woman.

CB, I can't help thinking that people who try to wear clothes that look really bad on them must not have a mirror. Leggings aren't for everyone, for sure. It's hard not to giggle in that situation.

Yikes! I can't imagine what is going thru someone's mind that wears flesh toned leggings unless they want the attention. I don't even like tan riding pants and don't wear them. Poor woman must have some issues.... Where are her friends?

I am back! I have been lost in Game of Thrones. We finished the last of season 7 last night. Wow. Except for an abundance of gorgeous people wearing less than flesh toned leggings, the series is incredible. We are looking forward to the last season, probably not coming until 2019. We have had such a great time watching this together.

The neighbor is still in Denver and I am still taking care of her dogs. It isn't much to do, but I am royally tired of it. It's going on 5 weeks. The poor dogs probably think I own them.

Spring is trying to show up. The grass is greening up. Poor Daisy is off grass for good, she is having a laminitis attack after only a half hour on pasture before it greened up. We don't know if it was the grass or if there is another reason for her latest attack, she seems to have a good one every year.

Time to change the month.
